Hellooo~ I have overbite, as I used to suck my thumb when I was younger. I still do it now to get to sleep- it's really an old comfort. I figured now is about time to get it sorted out, and I am currently waiting for a call back from my Orthodontist to get my braces fixed. I have a few questions. Does it hurt? Do they have to take teeth out? Do they tell you off? How long do you have to wear them for? How are you getting along with your braces? Much thanks, I can understand if you don't reply. x
It can be painful at times but it's nothing you can't cope with, make sure you get lots of dental wax! I didn't have teeth taken out, but some people may do. They are really very nice and only tell you off if you aren't brushing your teeth properly! I will have mine on for about 2 years but some people get them off a lot earlier. I'm really happy with my braces, they don't bother me at all. I hope you are well and wish you all the best x

that's what I have but yours is way worse and I've just been too lazy to wear my rubber bands and it's been 3 years lol i think almost 4. Im just going to get them off. my teeth are straight enough lol
@allyssa6 trust me you should listen to your dentist! I had braces for 3 years (age 11 - 14) and always neglected wearing my rubber bands because I figured it wasn't that important. after puberty your jaw stops growing so the only choice now is braces AGAIN and jaw surgery, really wish I wore those rubber bands when my jaw was still growing.. and btw bringing the jaw forward like seen in this video can cause tmj
@nigropuntdus Yeah well I mean I don't have buckteeth for anything and I've been trying to wear my rubber bands my dentist even went to extreme matters and put a huge spring on me & it just popped my brace off in the back and ugh..:( It's really tiring and I am now im college and I think it's just time to ditch em. I had em since I was a sophomore & it's embarrassing when my dentist yells at me like he is my dad but I know it's for the good&I wish I cud just get jaw surgery and get it over with

Once you have week one over with rest is easy i am week 2 now and i have stopped taking my drugs. Just got to take loads of mouth wash and use lip cream..
What motivated you to get braces? I think your mouth looks lovely and it's possible that your uppers made your lips look equally beautiful, especially your upper lip. I can't believe anyone would have negatively commented on your before.

Sure braces makes you younger, you are right. And what is your age now??, hihihi ;-) You're never too old to wear them, but you mostly see them here on women at older age. I think it will surprise me how it looks when your operation is done. A different look. Good weekend from Holland.

How long does it take to close the gaps on upper jaw? Your lower is very nice. You have also the tubes for headgear on your upper jaw.

I've had the elink fitted to close my gaps but they are going to address them properly after my surgery!

Well I will hopefully get the surgery before September but they gave me that month to assure me it would be done before then. :)
They hurt sometimes. They hurt after orthodontist appointments but then the pain eases up after a few days.
