i can't believe how big this was. I feel so bad 4 them. If there was anyway i could help even hough i'm a kid. Well i could help and i will i really hope that people in Haiti didn't half to go through that they didn't need that to happen. they didn't deserve it. It's going to take more than decade to get Haiti back to normal!~!~!~!
Those concerned about how the US spends money look at it this way....you pay your taxes in good faith...it is on the government what they do with it....good or bad....at least a dollar spent saving lives, and helping re-establish life in Haiti, will not go in the mouth of the Big 3 or to ING. I would rather think the money I pay in is being spent in Haiti, if it helps save just one life. The US has to set a standard in Global action.
9/11 I really dont remember any country handing us money, why does the USA just give give and give to other countries . we have are own problems here. I feel sorry for all in Hati but come on USA . Its funny we The USA are the Best and Worst country in the World.. We are the smartest and the Dumbest.. Not one country ever gives us money.. But that is what taxes are for here . Traffic cameras can save everyone.
oh man its just sad what you're saying...so selfish, it doesnt matter if the USA is the only one who helps everytime or whatever...(like you have to give away your money or something), I mean...if you have the possibility of help a country like Haiti in a tragedy like this...you JUST DO IT!!! COME ON!
The reason aid is not getting through is because the USAF is HOGGING the airport LOOKING AFTER THEIR OWN.
We re told, 'USAF officers who took over control of Port-au-Prince's airport had "locked it down" to evacuate some of the 45,000 American citizens who live in Haiti'.
All those people suffering & dying and the yanks are cluttering up the airport getting people out like in Vietnam.
Found this: ... there were more than 400 Cubans working on collaboration programs in Haiti at the moment the earthquake shook the country and 344 of them are health experts who are already helping out the victims of the natural phenomenon. The Cuban official said tthe Cuban doctors, nurses and health technicians have already set up two field hospitals, where more than 800 patients have been already assisted and some of them have even undergone surgery.
I am suprsised and relieved at the lack of structure fires. Treating someone for blunt force trauma is one thing, add burns to the scenario it's just compounds the prob and it's so much harder on the pt and the person trying to treat them.
T's & p's go out to the people on the island of haiti.
Oh you have no idea how screwed these people are, fires are one thing. They have no clean water and no form of anti-disinfectant. Now the diseases begin to spread.
actualy I realy do,dehydraton will be overcome shortly hopefuly with the infusion of bottled drinking water coming in from around the planet. reg the problem of disease being spread this is usualy from decomposing bodys that contaminate drinking water supplys. The actual death toll is going to determine just how bad the public water supply is effected thus determining the the levels of collera and dysentery that will start to harm the population.
disease I was referring to was from all the wounds people need to get treated. With no clean water or clean garments to wrap or bandage them within 24 hours infection is likely to set in.
Either way its just a grizzly situation, I hope they get enough adequate supplies to treat people.
probably the US came in to secure the country as a new base for their bombers

don't we have an earthquake machine or something that could make the situation worse?
Hey, after all we blew up damns during Katrina to worsen the situation as eyewitnesses say.

Don't send FEMA! They could screw up a bowling ball. Wait - it would be at least a week before FEMA hear about this anyway.
I wonder if Cuba is providing medical aid and support? They are pretty darn close. Anybody know?
