  • i can't believe that four told got only 1 % less than tool

yeah, both effects are good but I reckon Tool should have been rated higher :)

  • Fourt Told....well, the method, to me at least, is transparent. I can't believe you guys praised this so highly.

    Tony Razzano

  • The Devin Knight effect is apalling. You are kidding me if in the real world you have to look at peoples faces to see whether or no they have their eyes closed, this is sooooo open to failure. YUK.

  • @Gazza100164 its horrible yes! i agree

  • he said that he learnt the trick 15 min ago when they were 22 min into vid

  • You couldn't do Out of This World for magicians...it could be figured out so easily...I'd say it's a no go...

  • Devin releases everything he uses in his own repertoire. Some things just don't work for everyone. And somethings leave you scratching your head like Gyrater. But no doubt that even with some of those simple effects Four Told clearly shows that Devin has a brilliant mind.... His mentalims effects are solid...

  • Do you need to use a red bicycle deck when using Tool?

  • @bvandijk yes

  • i just dont think four told would work if ive got there meathod correct, the spectators WILL relise that they are just giving you the info

  • Shame on you David. You should know its the South Tyneside convention - you've been 3 times!!

  • The method of 'Four Told' would be obvious to the intelligent. They would be aware that there were giving you information.

  • Ok,... So when David stone signs one side of a card and the spectator signs the other side that's ok? But when Justin miller does it with autograph it instantly takes half the magic away from the effect? Contradiction.

  • Great review guys! And Craig didn't flash ;)

  • With all these comments about fourtold.....I feel stupid that I cant figure it out.

  • could you guys review spreadwave by mathieu bich

  • I watch wizard product review every wednesday very very late at night whilst my wife is asleep in the bed next to me. For some reason Dave's voice keeps waking her up and Craig's voice puts her back to sleep! Could you please do me a favour and say sorry to Lisa for causing her strange sleeping patterns????

  • The secret behind "New World" seems obvious to me although it likely wouldn't occur to a spectator. I don't think it's worth the pocket space and the routine as is -- without some standard OOTW phases to build up the effect -- falls rather flat. Besides which, there are other ways using a stack and a regular deck of cards to get virtually the same effect with none of the drawbacks. This one's a pass for me.

  • I hope to see you guys at Magic Live in Vegas

  • You guys had to get paid to say that four told is good.it's so obvious. after watching this show i know that you guys are horrible magicians.

  • @jayroalvarez Is this meant to be a joke?

I'm not the biggest fan of either Penn or Petty as performers and don't agree with all of their arguments and views but that's my opinion and not fact.

However they would most definitely not money to review something that is rubbish and give it a good percentage.

  • Another enjoyable show, chaps. Although the idea that New World is an effect best performed for magicians seems most peculiar. I'd have thought any half-competent magician would see through the method immediately.

  • The Out of this world version I use doesn't use any real slights either and - as Craig said - everything is examinable. New World does not add anything to the original effect but only makes it more gaffed. So I'd stick to the original and maybe do New World for other magicians that know the original Curry effect.

  • now the dog is smiling at me, first the winking now the smiling

  • Sorry... but Four Told is so bogus and the method is so obvious.

  • I have mentioned this before, why can you not give a difficulty rating on the products you review? You review a product then say "To the laymen this will look great" How about a "Laymen" who wants to purchase tricks to show his "Laymen" Friends, then purchases a product, you reviewed only to find he cant do it because to create the effect you need to have experiance in handling.

Score 1-10 one being hard would suffice.

  • like mr dill & weber work and reputation

but impromptu OOTW is way killer and stronger

because its the same result and examinable

check out mr james brown's variation nacky but very impressive

  • I've subscribed more than once to this channel, I don't get why I become unsubscribed, makes no sense.

  • @MarkEfferent

No Idea either Mark. YouTube is a strange beast it interferes with comments, blocks users and for the last few weeks has has lots of technical problems in showing videoes and counting views.

  • Craig: "I'm not a mentalist". Some would beg to differ!

  • how did you train Bammo to snigger silently when ever you mention Casy the card case.?

  • New World was very clean. The fact that the cards can't be examined is not an issue, since the spectator has been handling them all the way through anyway. No one is going to ask to see them.

  • if you have worked out of this world and have a good presentation for it I think carrying an extra pack of cards won't make much of a difference

  • Your review of Daniel Cros was heartfelt because as Garrett Thomas said, magic is a way of connecting with people and clearly, Mr. Cros loves magic and that came across to you. Loving what you do makes a big difference for the spectator's experience. As for the examinability issue, there are a lot of great tricks - NFW + Extreme Burn come to mind - where you don't want to had out the effect and why should you? Properly displaying the effect at the end and moving to the next effect is enough.

  • it's weird that Dave gave 82% to Daniel Cros' DVD which is performance only when he didn't like Helder's Red Mirror DVD which was performance only. He said you can be inspired watching Daniel Cros' DVD whereas he scoffed at the idea of inspiration from Helder's.

  • I do prefer Galaxy by Paul Harris. You could do the same "half deck" out of this word with Galaxy, which is a lot less annoying and it takes a lot less time than a full deck presentation.

  • Hmmm, that version of out of this world would do very well, if your on camera at least. Because you can't rewind and work it out, I really don't know, would have to see the actual method...

  • I think 'New World' is a nice version, but maybe for beginners, theres no sleights really, and not examinable, most ootw's have 1 maybe 2 sleights and ARE examinable, I personally recommend Derren Browns version, thats the one i use :)

  • No its not an improvement IMHO. Galaxy gives the exact same impression.

  • Would'nt do New world, not enough justification for an entirely 1 trick deck. Probably clever though...

  • i was listening while practising, every time dave laughed it sounded like ricky gervais lol

  • Your puppy keeps winking at me

  • @wcoach No its not, its me it winks at!

  • If you like four told you will love Silent Running by ben harris

  • is this the laymen patter? :D

  • I'd rather do Helder's Out of this Water routine.......i reckon its stronger, better, cleaner than dean's version...maybe just me.

  • Worker of the week, but will a 'worker' really use it every week? I have my doubts.

  • Dill's version of out of this world is a big improvement. ONE question is, as you raised, is it worth carrying an additional deck? The second and possibly more important question is who is performing out of this world and how often? Do audience members really want to deal through an entire (or half) of a deck for an effect?

  • Tool looks great.

Four Tolds method is way too obvious. It MIGHT work in a parlor or stage situation. Anyone interested in this type of f_ _ _ _ _ _g effect should look up the old astrological effect found in Syzygy. Even better yet, just get Kennedy's mind power deck and you can read people's minds as they apparently think of anyone of 52 cards (you two should review this effect). F_ _ _ _ _ _g is not a new principal in mentalism.

  • I want that book!

  • Cutest damn dog I've ever seen.....it's quite distracting.

  • icandy or tool?

  • So will there be a show next week!?

  • I would like to see Redemption Vs. Tool.

  • @Kkkonstantin i think tool is better because i feel like there are more possibilities. but that is just my opinion.

  • @Kkkonstantin I'm with you on that one! I have redemption and I think It's easily better than tool.

  • @TheFancyWalrus1

I have just ordered Redemption since I did not like the idea of doing a trick but reverting back to the box everytime. I ditch the box once the cards are out so to me it is odd if I then pick it up again. Surely the heat is so directed to the box even for a layman. Redemption seemed to achieve the same tricks but with less heat.. Just would like to know your views why you think redemption is better than Tool. Esp since I was so disappointed in last two STONE products I bought.

  • What a tool.

  • sweeter than cheese!

  • the method in four told looks like it has to do with the closing of the eyes. Looks kinda obvious

  • Check out my ideas for TOOL by David Stone! :)

  • How do you gus not have 100000 subscribers u freaking kick ass! You make my boring school day on a wednesday to making me actually excited well i mean i stay up till midnight waiting for the episode to come out (i live in new zealand) thanks guys! And dont forget John either hes awesome :)
