A superb performance as always by Vincent Price. He was just simply, the very best when it came to interpretating anything that was written by Edgar Alan Poe. A great actor and a wonderful voice.
You honestly think this is just an opinion that only i hold ... don't you. I have provided so much information for you to watch here at FB. You have had every single opportunity to understand what is going on and why "your" party has left you behind. Please, don't let that go to waste....And Yet the evil continues
It's always so suprising for me watching a Corman flick of this time period. When he started it was stuff like Creature from the Haunted Sea (I suggest avoiding that) or Little Shop of Horrors which was better, but the Poe movies were his most stylish and creepy I think. Of course thank the master VIncent Price as well. The changes his character makes in this movie is positively frightening and the ending was absolutely awesome. R.I.P. Vincent.
I've seen it many times in the past and it's one of my favorite flicks but can't find it online. I live in korea so I can't rent it. I can rent other crap films that have come and gone but not real classics.
A true statement actually. He was in over his head, they should have gotten someone w a bit more experience. Vincent just plowed over him in every scene.
i loved the visual showing the haunted palace, on that cliff, the waves braking at the shore, as lightning strikes!..and of course, vincent price, barbara steele, the music ..etc...these corman pictures somehow came together really well.
I love Vincent Price and i love the story Pit and the Pendulum, but is it anything like Poe's Story? The trailer seems like it isnt. I havent seen the movie but i will check it out!
We watched this in my Am Lit class. It's nothing like Poe's story, it only uses the pit and the pendulum for the climax. It has nothing to do with the Spanish Inquisition. But it has a clever plot and is definitely worth watching!
For the frenchs wich are searching this movie on DVD... The title is strangely NOT "Le Puit et le Pendule" but "La Chambre des Tortures"... (dont ask me why...?!)
