Anybody know what is happening with this product, or has the energy cartel cut the can? I know that one of the board members for Intelligent Energy is an (ex?) Shell employee, hummm.
@mojokiss Has it never occurred to you in your ignorant little American brain that climate change is taking place? We have to do everything we can to reduce greenhouse gases and our dependence on oil. Hydrogen is one step forward.
@malbert34 I hope it works out as planned. I have just had my suspicions that the hydrogen economy is infused with government funded spin in order to control and divert the spending trends of the masses.
Seeing as how bikes are much more prone to crashing and burning than cars are, and also how exposed and unsecured the hydrogen is going to be while driving this thing... I think I'll stick to gasoline when it comes to a motorcycle. It doesn't cost that much to fill up anyway.
Bikes are not more prone to crashing than cars! and you don't know anything about hydrogen fuel cells. It's not going to blow up in a crash, gasoline is way more dangerous.
I'll now assert each of your points in a very irritating and pedantic manner.
You're wrong. Motorcycles (the 'bikes' which both you and I were referring to) are most certainly more dangerous, when driven, than are their four-wheeled counterparts. Statistics says this, logic says this, I say this.
I know enough about hydrogen fuel cells to know that it's safer for them to be enclosed beneath the car's large frame, rather than the thin motorcycle's.
Ok, well you still don't know anything about fuel cell technology, and motorcycles buy themselves are no more dangerous than cars, yes some of the people that get on them are asses, and the same with cars. Hydrogen fuel cell vehicles don't have to haul around tanks of hydrogen (some due, and they ARE safe), but a vehicle can be fitted with a reformer and then any hydrogen rich fuel can be used,. If a hydrogen tank is ruptured the gas dissipates quickly and the chance for ignition is low.
Cars being "more safe" than motorcycles is based on the fallacy that only the safety of the driver and passengers of the vehicle in question determine its "safety". This is actually an incredibly selfish and short-sighted measure of safety. Many bulkier "safer" cars are only "safer" to the person INSIDE the car, but god help you if you're the pedestrian, motorcyclist or small car driver that gets hit by one. (to be continued)
I would concede that it is statistically safer to driver a big car than it is to ride a motorcycle. But then, it is safer to be the person pulling the trigger than the one being shot. Motorcycles are smaller, turn sharper, brake faster.. I would argue that the total safety of all drivers/pedestrians is diminished with every big "safe" car that enters the roads.Which vehicle would be easier to avoid hitting or being hit by in an accident? Car or bike? Which would you rather hit you?
Is this real?? where can u purchase one? i would definatly buy one, its basically free transportation . does anyone one know if it is possible to buy one now?
Very cool bike, but Id rather go with a standard battery electric motorbike, all the infrastructure for them is already in place, you can charge them in the garage, or at work. HFC's are pretty cool stuff, but they wont solve any problems with them soon. watch "Who Killed the Electric Car?" if you don't believe me
Battery powerd is the way to go, using the Li-ion batteries. Charge it up at home and you can ride around all day. Then you wouldn't have to worry about fuel stations.
thats very right.. but battery gets broken very easilly and electric bikes cost a lot of money.. and u cant do 100 miles per tank (in your case charging), otherwise electricity isn`t for free, isnt it?! and hydrogen engine u can simply repair.. and battery becomes rubbish.. this makes no rubbish at all.. so I still think this is brutal technology.. if i had a chance, then i would buy that bike hydrogen bike.. IoI thats for sure..
But surely the new Lithium Nanosafe batteries would work ok? They have 5 times the charge of lead acid batteries & can be recharged in under 10 mins. Quite light too.
Dont any of the riders in most of these series wear either gloves or legs protection, maybe they enjoy leaving their flesh and bone on the road surface when they fall off??
Hmm,Hydrogen from fossil fuels, thats a new one on me,there are various methods of producing hydrogen some purwly chemical reactions, other electrochemical. There is a small problem with the electrochemical version in that the electricity used to produce the gas may well have been produced by a fossil fuel power station, but that part of the equation can be avoided.
hydrogen is produced by using metal electrodes placed very close together with negative and positive alternately (preferably stainless steel) when you use a 12 volt battery to power such a cell you can produce hydrogen/oxygen gas. If one were to figure out how to generate more gas it is possible to run a combustion engine. I have personally done this and had my car running for about 15 seconds. I am trying a new pulse generator to achieve more amperage.
wrong hydrogen does not need to be created from fossile fuels and can easily be generated by use of solar, wind or geo thermal. I have never heard anything about hydrogen opening up the o zone. and the product of the process that is being ommited is not hydrogyen it is water. so frankly that does not matter.
wow, really cool. when was the show? man if i had the chance i would buy one of these and then set up a whole load of fuel stations. what an opportunity
hydrogen fuel trucks come to your house and fill up your home tank and you fill up at home. is that the milk truck or the hydrogen truck?

I have planned to change my own motorcycle to fuel cell motorcycle. It would cost 4000€ but it's worth it even I'm not sure about it.
If I change it I lose cool sounds.... If I burn hydrogen insted of fuel cell I wont lose cool sounds and it would cost only 2000€ from hydrogen tank.
Marsumursu 2 years ago
it's not hard to make your own fuel for this from hho water fuel cell then run it thru the electric fuel cell

i so want one. they should make it go at least 140 km/h top speed
EggYoke69 3 years ago
80 kmh iis fast for an electric vehicle.
a question though, how is this difficult to fill up? hydrogen is water isnt it? so just take it to a tap or pond to fill it up?

80 km/h is slow speed from electric motor.... It could be better....
