@baikoff Watch it again. The narrator clearly explains that there are two cables- one in each direction.

@FriedToast Yeah, that part is clear, but that does not explain the force that pulls them back up.

@baikoff It would still be gravity. The return rope would be going from a high spot from the far side to a low spot on the original side. The starting and ending points are going to be different (which I imagine is why we do not see both landing and launching points at the same time). For all we know, the return area might be 100 meters away- that part they were not clear about.
