  • Haha! That's awesome.

  • yeah id agree youd be a cool neiborxD

  • nice idea

  • hey man u need to put a patent on this OH it doesnt look bad at all lol it looks better than my old bike helmet and my camera duct taped to it , I've got to borrow this from ya thanks for the tips

  • thanks for a good idea and easy sufficient technique

  • thanks for a good idea and easy sufficient technique

  • can you review this 4-3Q2 Walkera Micro Brushless Metal Version w/ 2.4GHz 2402 Transmitter

  • LMAO!!! THAT IS AN AWESOME IDEA! I think I'll be looking for a small camera now just for this project.

Thanks for the tip Flyyer of the Night :P

  • Well done Dave..gonna get mine built soon.

  • Great idea Dave....I really need something like that to track my progress with my RC boats....I am using a RC Forum to help me in my journey and not having a cameraman is a big hurdle....this eliminates it nicely!!

    Excellent Dave!!!!

  • FPV pilot could not wear them but great idea .

  • Very cool Idea. Nice Video

  • All hail Nightflier!! When is the RC world gonna recognize the innovations both large and small that Herbert has brought us? Blue Thunder fighter pilot, the camera hat, camera glasses, airplane modifications, helicopter modifications, inventing new aircraft, tools for training or wroking on new aircraft, everything you have done has been awesome. I credit you ( my wife BLAMES you, lol ) with re-stirring my interest in RC flight. Now its one of my favorite hobbies. Thank you Dave, your the man!

  • Genius idea

  • awesome ideas and videos, thanks you for sharing your time and knowledge!!

  • Thanks for serving our country! You are a great american!

Your youtube site is great, just like your mind. So in other words the plane cam is neat.

    Todd

  • Excellent and so true about the patents, maybe you should try the apple aproach and try to patent the name, look, concept and anything else you can think of in the name of money! JK don't stoot that low NightFlyer

  • @chiosex *stoop

  • Nice job. Does it start to get heavy on your nose?

  • This is brillant. Excellent tutorial :-)

  • now what if your "amazing poop" wears off and the whole camera comes crashing down:)

  • A target cross/frame infront and in between the glasses could be great to make sure the video is in frame and avoid missing the target with the video when looking left/right/up/down by rotating our eyeball and not head and looking forward.

  • Thanks Dave! I'm going to make me one of these on Friday!

  • Hi Dave; try amber lenses for night flying, I think you will be happy with the results.

  • If I had a role model such as yourself in my life while growing up I know I could have been so much more.

  • very clever indeed

even better than the famous hat ham :)

i think i might even make a set since i often fly alone or with my son who often talks too much and points the cam on him self lolz

might solve a whole bunch of problems right there :D

    good work man

  • Check out the $20 sunglasses camera on Ebay. Good quality to.

  • Thanks for that one, I have the darndest trouble even when I am not flying, just trying to take Video. Our Video camera does not have a view finder, it has an lcd screen and I can not keep it on subject. I do not like it at all.

  • picture on d camera.. is clean..

  • was that a tiny little mirror on the front of the camera on the tripod? so you can see essentially see what the camera sees?? where did you get that convex mirror?

  • @rele30 Haha. Good Eye. Yes. I got it at Hobby Lobby (the crafts store). They make all kinds of small mirrors. I Velcroed it on the front. I will get a bit bigger mirror next time. Thanks.

  • @nomoreidsleft WRONG! Actually it decreases the weird factor, but the geek factor rises exponentially.

  • The next step is to use Ray-Ban imitations (you don't want to ruin original ones) because they Can be used in extreme

Angles without falling off your head.

  • @ivaneduardo747 Not with the weight of the camera on the nose they wont, let alone the extreme winds we have.

I don't care what it looks like anyway, cause nobody is around, for gosh sakes or I wouldn't need it in the first place. LOL.

  • Hey, Dave, where can I get one of those screws? They look very useful for creative (and some times weird) camera tripods and holders.

  • @ivaneduardo747 I got mine from Ace Hardware. 1/4-20

  • That beats the screw in my in the top of my skull. I suppose I should have that removed now and do it this way huh? Nah!

  • what a great idea

  • that's actually really creative, but isn't it a bit heavy which results in a bit of discomfort?

  • @ramis182 Thanks, but only 4 ounces and the bands hold it tight. Make sure to get sunglasses with a smooth bridge, not those pads and all will be well.

  • hey Dave thanks I'm going to look that camera up thanks for responding.

  • @billfromelma Thanks.

  • practical but looks odd....

  • @freemind321

I don't care what it looks like anyway, 'cause nobody is around, for gosh sakes or I wouldn't need it in the first place. I don't live in California anymore. LOL.

  • cant you just use duct tape?

  • @wrestlemaniac202 Sure, but it is hard to remove from my forehead.

  • That very useful, guess I'm going to have to make one... When your prototyping there is no one around to film!

  • @DLPlanes Exactly. Thanks.

  • Thanks so much for making this video for me Dave. I really apreciate mate. Its actually very simple but works well. I have used two sets of the ebay camera glasses now and there not very good at all. I think i will have to look into getting a better HD camera over the weekend.

  • @stalyoni Thanks. Yes those are Ebay glassescams are definitely not the camera my Elph is, as I tried them already too.

  • ...

    Great idea Dave.

I tried using my hat cam yesterday while flying my Blade 400.

The hat cam works, but takes time to adjust it to get the height right and alot of missed shots.

Definitely going to try this setup.

    Thanks for sharing.

    Thumbs Up ~ Eric

  • @joehandsome99 Thanks Eric. Your right about hat cam adjustments for sure. This stays right and tight all the time. Just make sure to get it set up at the right angle for you before the Goop dries and it is easy to pop on or off at a moments notice when you need an instant cameraman.. Thanks for the comments.

  • oh man thanks much for this tut, i'm going to have to try this

  • @thebibleisfiction Thanks kindly.

  • cool, you look great with only one lens in that Eyeglass LOL

Seriously, I see you get great results with this so thumbs up for sure Dave.

  • @beverke7 Thanks very kindly. Yes, I am happy with the results too. It is hard to argue with success and appreciate you seeing that. ~NightFlyyer~

  • Hey Dave, they have a nice pair of integrated eyeglass cam on ebay. Shoots 720p video at 30fps. Should help to reduce the geek factor. Btw, can you post a video about how you sync the external video to the main video? I've your other videos where you sync onboard video to main video as well.

  • @Nomoreidsleft Thanks, I have some. There is no way to make an HD video with those glasses or do any of the stuff my Canon does, so I elected to do it this way.

I don't care what it looks like anyway, 'cause nobody is around for gosh sakes, or I wouldn't need it in the first place. I don't live in California anymore. LOL.

  • I wished you were my neighbour sir.

  • @primativemodelling Ha ha. Thanks.

  • That'sa geat idea now all i want is a pair of old sunglasses and a small light camera to fit thanks again dave {"_*}

  • @spektrum33 That'll do it for sure. Thanks.

  • awesome idea - awesome execution. Nice one, as usual, Mr Herbert :)

  • @BrotherBloat Thanks very kindly.

  • @BrotherBloat you said it man! Dave has some truly awesome ideas.

  • Not the best fashion statement, but it sure is clever!

  • @SvenOkonomi Thanks, but I don't care what it looks like anyway, 'cause nobody is around, for gosh sakes, or I wouldn't need it in the first place!

I don't live in California anymore and nobody cares what you look like here in Iowa. LOL.

  • i like

  • Necessity is the mother of all inventions!

  • My Wife already thinks Im a nut for being 46 years old and flying toy planes wait till she gets a load of this LOL! my kids are not thrilled either oh well ...im having fun

  • Thanks for that video Dave...i have something similar...not quiet as elegant! Great stuff again!

  • Why not patent it and make a few million o.O :p

  • @99minerkc I own patents and all were a waste of money since right next door to the "Patent Office" is the "Knockoff Office"! They changed the design very slightly, send it to China to be made and now sell it way cheaper. So I simply feel good that someone may use my idea without spending too much money and get good results without worrying what they look like because if someone was around you wouldn't need this Eyeglass Pod anyway! LOL. Thanks for the comments.

  • @NightFlyyer Well, I was totally impressed! Love your videos bty!!

    5/5

  • That's great Dave and have many peaceful landing's. Tom

  • lol nice vid once again, very informative stuff man... Happy Flying!!!!

  • thanks allso dave.

  • Thanks for showing that, I was wondering how you did that after seeing it in your videos.

  • i always love your music in your background :D

  • That is a awesome idea!

  • win :D

  • lol sweet idea
