Yeah thats if your bike has a smaller cheaper tire I just had to put a set of hutchinson racing tires on my xc bike and it took a good thirty mins because of how thick the Kevlar and rubber is....this is a good example though

Use car tires on your bike if they never get punctured as you say :D no seriously, a bike tire is much less thick than a car tire and much softer. Also a car will pretty much run over stuff like glass, but a bike won´t and the tire gets punctured. Yeah i know, physical laws suck sometimes :/

okay, heres a useful tip, when feeling for the thorn or whatever on the inside of the tyre, use the other side of your hand. run your fingernails round the inside, as your fingernails will not cut or be stabbed so easy.

all these videos make putting the tire back on look so easy. getting that last bit seated on the rim can range from pretty easy to near impossible depending on how tight the bead is.

if you really need to patch a tires you dont need any tools. you can get the tire off with your hands and use bubble gum and tape and it will hold until you get home.

A spare tube is always good to have as well as a repair kit. I learned that the hard way when the valve failed as well as having a puncture. Good short Video.

why do u need a new tube, fiar enough check the tyre for glass 1. you don't need to take the whole tyre off, and 2. no need for a new tube unless it actually slit, just use puncture repair !

Not necessarily-Debbie can be onto something. If you are talking about mountain bike tires, then yes, they are crappy tires if a thorn manages to get through them. But if you are talking about a road bike tire, a thorn can puncture those easily because they are so much thinner.

Now-a-days there are tubes with "slime", a substance that seals the punctures in the tube, and the tire never flat. Search for "Specialized Airlock tube" for example.
