  • what is wrong with the piano?

  • the pianist is horrible!

  • Sehr viel Herzenswärme liegt in diesem Spiel!

  • @CorinnaHeynMA ach wirklich?Ist mir bis jetzt nicht aufgefallen!Diese Sonate wurde ohne musikalische Gestaltung total verhunzt aber wenn Ihnen der Mist gefällt.

  • i think this is good evidence to support that david garrett is a virtuoso with natural ability and great technique but when demands for great artistry and true musicianship come he falls short .... i think he's a great performer and has a well earned career ..... this however serves as proof that he cannot be classified a great musician or true artist.

  • ok ...no problem ... mine was a joke .. that covered only her dress ... I very much admire the music of David ... he is super! the best ... ciao Lory :))

  • He's rushing the phrases. He continuously clips the third beat and jumps into the next measure in the beginning.

There's also an annoying portato which is not in the phrasing of Brahms. Listen for the wa-wa-wa sound when he plays a long bow with multiple notes in it (1:08 thru 1:14). THAT is portato.

At 1:46 there is an annoying tendency to hold onto the note too long, breaking the phrase and disturbing the cadence. One can extend the length of time at the end of phrases, but not in the middle

  • He is playing in..a suit!!!!

  • Love David's interpretations. An excellent violinist!

  • Ex aluno de Itzhak Perlman ele é muito talentoso mais tocando as peças classicas deixa um pouco a desejar é melhor ele tocando popular

  • super!!!...bravo!...the only thing that you can not look at David's dress ....his music is great !!!... ... and he is a talented musician ..thankss for video...

    Lory

  • @loredanalory15 he's not wearing a dress.

    it's a suit.

suits are common, but some artists today come out in a black turtleneck and black slacks. Big whoop. He could wear his jockstrap and I wouldnt care. It's the music which needs to speak, not his wardrobe. Besides that, he was a model at one time.....

  • omg O.O

    I am NOT jealous.

  • recorded with an ipod touch! the spaf.

  • He shouldn't play with this kind of musician , the pianist must be def !!! Looks like a high school recital. David has a huge talent, but not the tone("sforzando" too much) or tempi(too much "jumpie" and nervous) for romantic composers, i like him best when on paganini sheets and playing pop songs

  • @polyjr consider it could be the mic

  • @jonatanblack01 You may be right, friend, but I've listened this play a year ago, listen again now, to me, it still sounds a very unnecesary presentation for this fine musician, Karajan use to say "music is about beauty", this play seems, to me, doesn't fit on that consideration, and it is, for sure, no Brahms. Cheers.

  • He does have a beauticiful sound (pity the pianist here is such a crude and relentless pounder). and no one can fault him for his genuine musicality and savvy phrasing. But this performance, despite the passion, leaves a great deal to be desired, interpretively and technically, and wants for refinement. Listen to Neveu, Garrett!

  • agreed... There are many missed opportunities interpretively, and I felt cheated by the performance.

Also, he really has a hard time shifting up to that B-flat in tune in the main theme... :/

  • @labradordynasty consider it oculd be the mic
