  • Everybody is a DJ these days, but the ones who actually have talent, mix their own shit, beatmatch their own shit, buy their tracks, etc. are becoming scarce. There's a point to this...

  • Turn down the damn bass, your killing me here!

  • you suck go kill your self

  • u need to fcken quit cuz u dont know how to dj

  • @xXDJJOE956Xx Well aren't you one to talk, mr. I have 115 views. If you'd care to notice, this was posted 3 and a half years ago. I'll take you any day lol.

  • @jjblalock sure wey whatever u say u think u could take me out but u cannt u know i mix better than u

  • too quite

  • Wtfff. Dude, I've Got Two Dell Speakers And A Subwoofer, And I Put Out SO Much More Bass.

  • shitty

  • Try to keep your equipment away from the sun, specially your laptop, since it can overheat and malfunction. The sun can also ruin your speakers if there is direct sunlight hitting them for hours. At house parties I always take a tent or I setup under a carport or patio cover. If it's cloudy, always have a box of Hefty large trash can bags to cover your speakers and system should it begin to rain. Just some tips for you.

  • Ok, it's beatmatching... But there is a key clash...

The computer will never do it all for you.. especially with Traktor.. You need more practice...

  • How did you connect the speakers to it?

  • The wonders of auto sync

  • @mephisto40 GTFO no auto sync used!!! just all the songs are the same bpm except one.....oh sophomore year...

  • @jjblalock well thats called synced but the same thing!....lol!!!!

  • this was the year 1535 dj king athur ahahaahaha

  • @XxXDjBesiXxX LOL :DD

  • Hey way to go you rock, now about your table is this what your taking out to weddings? I am not sure I like the Saw Horse look, nor the 4x4 under the laptop.

I see your hunch over your laptop, this is not good for you back especialy if your going to be in that position for 5-6 hours at a time.

  • Luckily since this date my setup has changed a bit...now it's technics 1200s and a zero4 mixer with traktor scratch. and the table's gone too.

  • i used to dj with those gemsound speakers with the 4 tweeters on top a horn and 1 15" speaker, your right nobody knows the difference or cared,i find the same with lights too.

  • you need to put your cabs up on some car jacks, hahaha, and dont waste your money on gemsound anything, its total shit.your power amp is probably gemsound too.buy only top names when it comes to cabs and amps or you wont last long or only play for free.but atleast you can practice.

  • Actually, much to the contrary, I've used em for 2 years and made several thousand dollars. Even though they suck, most people can't tell the difference. I'm now trying to find a better amp for my sub (not gem sound), but overall the system has worked great minus the speaker cables which had to be replaced.

  • why is there NO bass when there are sum big speakers there???

  • quick question are those speakers good????

  • No GemSound Sucks They Are very very low end..

    DJ A-L

  • Hey what's the second song you mixed in?

    Carl Ghazarian S.C.V.U. - Techniq

  • That's That Shit - Snoop Dogg (82 bpm)

Wait, actually if you mean the second one I mixed, it would be My 64 - Mike Jones (84 bpm)

  • Thanks for the reply I really appreciate it.

    Carl Ghazarian S.C.V.U. - Techniq

  • how are those speakers i was thinking about getting them to to go with my 12's

  • get better cabs

  • LOL

  • Behringer OOOO my friend has that But i prefer normal DJ Equipment like my CDJ1000 <33333

  • sorry but its crap i do discos in the uk and i seen way better then that i use a laptop as well but all you need is more pratice so take it from me you need to PRATICE!!!!!

  • Mixing is nothing special.

  • Don't get me wrong, it PAYS to have great equipment AND knowlege of it and its limits, but it DOES NOT MAKE THE DJ! It's How U Do Wut U Do that makes u who and what you are. And on the topics of 'disc jockey' and the use of turntables, u do realize that those 'disc' back then were 45's and they were not beat matchin and scratchin then. What u c today is the result of the constant progression of and artform taken seriously.

  • Yeah, its probably just because every single person ive seen in a club with a laptop just seems to play steps songs.. and they dont even mix them.. they just play them with itunes. even the cd djs dont bother mixing in the clubs around me. its all just smack that by akon over and over again.

  • That's right. i've always believed in the MIX of the music. I find it hard to respect the idea of just playin songs, if I wanted that, i'd just tunein to the local radio staions.

  • Haha, my dad used to do that, he used to play parties to earn money with his mates. The most they used to do was try and fade the end of one song into the beginning of the next (often unsuccessfully!) I really wish I lived back then instead of now, because all of the music that I like was around at that time, and a lot of it is so hard to find on vinyl these days. Its a shame he had to sell most of his records to go travelling years ago.

  • in my opinion, tune selection also plays a big part in DJing. i'm not saying mixing ability is not important, but a great DJ always select the finest tunes to get people dancing. My favorite DJ Hernan doesnt really do much mixing in his sets, but all the tunes he selects for each individual set are amazingly good and smooth. Just my opinion.

  • Im a Trance , Uplifint Trance , and also HH DJ. I own a pair of 2 CDJ 1000mk2 and i do as much a mixing as possible. Effects , Fading , Echo , Beatmatching [ Still praticing the BM ] And i agree with you guys. I been in many clubs and the people that call them selfs... 'DJs" Are nothing but a Simple Living Music Player. The Shame is that this man is getting paid for clicking with his mouse where I with love to DJing sit and hear this bastard doing nothing. Good Luck out there NEW DJs

  • i agree, i say to ma m8s: 'i dont life to refer myself as a dj just the sound guy' bascially i have cd mixer and laptop and just use the PH instead of the cd's (ph=laptop) virtual dj, and well, i must say i can mix and have awsome sound coming out but no way am i a dj, but here is a good point, dont matter if ur clickin m8 and gettin paid, all the club manager wants is the music the crowed picks and just to make it flow into the next track.

  • I really hate seeing people in clubs with laptops. They aren't strictly speaking even DJs- because the term DJ means Disc Jockey.. and there arent any discs involved with a laptop. Its when people start "DJing" with mobile phones i guess we have to start getting worried about the future of music.

  • yeah but people like me can only afford a bcd2000 so FUCK off. i agree with you though =)

  • wow are you kidding.. u can buy a full vinyl DJ setup for about $£.50 more.. =]

  • what is that money sign.. is that euros?? cause i live in U.S. if you could show me where to buy full vinyl set for 50 U.S dollars id really appretiate it =]

  • the £ sign is british pound.

    it's $2 - £1

  • To some degree, I agree. It's been stated as far as the ideal of 'DJing'...It's all in your selection and delivery. It's also has alot to so with creativity. But there are also difference TYPES/STYLES of DJs. I'm a vinyl junkie to my heart, with 22+ years behind the decks and I'm damn glad I don't have the lug all those creates anymore. So Technology is beautiful thing. The problem is, alot of cats don't understand the psycho-logical aspect of Djing. It's not about the equipment.

  • I agree!

  • But having a laptop is a cheap replacement for college parties, people are too drunk to usually tell the difference. It's dance clubs and dance parties(even with alcohol) that require a little more skill and technique... along with a good setup.

  • Fuck This Microwave!

  • I HAVE A DELL LAP TOP WILL VISTA EXPONET FROM M AUDIO THEN YOU NEED TORX SOFTWERE FORM M AUDIO QCS AMP RMX 1450 MODLE JBL POWER SUB 18" JBL JRX115 Portable 15Inch 2-Way Speaker SMALL MIXER FOR YOUR MIC IF YOUR DOING WEDDING RACK MOUNT SYSTEM WIRELESS MIC FROM SHURE CROSSOVER WITH A SUB OUT PUT THEN LIGHTS IF YOU WANT I SPEND ABOUT 15K IF YOU WANT A NICE SYSTEM
  • i plan on purchasing a dj system with a friend, so we can dj at parties and such, but we wanna have the laptop dj setup. Anyone know exactly what equipment i need to buy? i already have the lap top and software, anyone know what else I exactly need, cus i dont wanna buy certain things which i won't need later on you know?

  • get a good quality sound card some decent speakers (preferably 300 watts or more) I CANOT STRESS THE IMPORTANCE OF A GOOD AMP AND SOUND CARD! withought a good one of eather of these your sound will sound like shit trust me bean there done that its worth the extra 100 or so

  • stop hating because turntables are becoming extinct. new technology is here, use it. its all about song selection and good delivery. I could give a shit less about HAVING to use turntables and yes I've been listening to hip hop all my life.

  • i need some good speakers. i'm gonna get a bcd3000 soon. do you recommend anything?

  • BCD3000 WAY better than the original BCD2000 - works well with TRAKTOR, I am a Virtual DJ User. I use the BCD for monioring, and my PC sound for output to the mains / amp.

  • nice speakers i may say tr-300 dual 15" 1000watts rms peak colud anyone tell me what good amp at a good price i should get

  • well you could look at some peaveys, they do very good amps. Not sure about the prices these days

  • thx man

  • i don wanna diss respect or nothin but if u work with that shit u cant call urself a dj i have it to bcd3000 and even a 5year old can use it,i work with vinyl now and thaz the reall thing , the thangs u can buy fo ur computer r maybe nice to playwith but the computer does it 4 u ,u can never bcome a reall dj with that

  • The purpose of a "laptop" Dj is not to run big time shows but to bring music quickly to the masses without alot of setup. I prefer it for college parties where the real goal is getting music loud...not high quality...

So I think using your computer is just an easier way to be a DJ, and for the record vinyl is the shit... But I cant afford that stuff while paying tuition.

  • DJ refers tot he term Disc Jockey, you may call yourself an MP3J.. i love how the term DJ get's thrown around like people know anything about the roots of hip hop, turntablism, and where the term DJ came from. Until you can match a beat with vinyl or even a cd turntable I will give you the credited name of DJ, but auto-bpm and automix don't get you far for skills. nice speakers

  • Don't get me wrong I agree with you on some level. I don't think anybody who can play music on a laptop is a DJ, but someone could incorporate a laptop with turntables in order to create a half and half setup.

  • I agree with that, I'm speaking about the strictly laptop, no turntables or nothing.

  • Check out Torq, it's the real deal, but even better. you can use your tables and your pc. I agree though, that setup won't work for any real cuts.

I'm a big NI fan, and I just got Komplete 5, but M-audio blew them away with Torq.

  • torq and traktor are great

  • tracktor works great, laptop is the best with a good soundcard. and an external hard drive just for the mp3s. i have songs i don't eaven like as of now i have about 5,600 tracks and still have room for another 150,000 tracks, traktor has a tremendous search engine that will search for any track you wish. pro djs are making that move to mp3s. will the vynil dj be a thing of the past??? well i hope not. is still fun to see vynil guys do their thing.

  • microwave dj - get some deck homie!

  • i wouldnt really consider this tracker crap a good program cause it does everything for you get serato

  • everyone ease up. it's a decent setup. Not expensive, but it gets the job done.

  • ...should i laugh,...or cry...haha gayy

  • dude!!! wow Im speech less. please don't tell me people pay you!!
