O filme que lancou esta cancao data de 1942 ( o ano em que nasci). Vi-o ainda era crianca e nunca, mas nunca mais me esqueci esta linda cancao,. Sabe bem vir ao U-Tube, encontra-la e ouvi-la de novo mais de 60a nos depois. Nao haja duvida que a tecnologia quando aplicada a favor do bom e do bem ate e uma coisa maravilhosa.

I am 71 years old and I can remember my mum singing this every day, whilst my dad was overseas in World War 2. We did not see him for four years, but we were lucky, thank God he came home. Thank very much for this beautiful song.

Thanks for posting this memorable song. It was sung in the 1948 movie with the same title and starring Walter Pidgeon. I was just 10 years old then when I saw the movie and first heard the lyrics of the song.

Yes, some of the paintings are by Alma-Tadema, but that one at 1.12 remains a mistery...

These are nice romantic paintings, matching the old song. I don't recognise the one at 1.12, but I think two or three may be by Alma-Tadema, which, if correct, may give a clue to the others. Vera, as always, outstanding!

My Dad used to sing this song to my Mom. I saw the great love in his eyes everytime he'd sing this song to her. Ms. Vera Lynn's rendition was amazing.

It is my favorite song, by Ernesto Lecuona and it almost got the oscar back in 1943. She sings it so pretty... I also recommend the spanish version by Omara Portuondo or by Alfredo Kraus here in Youtube as well..
