@Paramedicmxr Could be, but it just as well could have prevented the accident. If I had it to do over I would have used the siren. Why not use every tool at your disposal to stay safe...
Great Video. Thanks ! now this 1st engine looks like it's responding from a different location than your last video....looks like it's Jackie D. Garrett Dr./E. Broadway area.
@9caplad It doesn't matter what time of day it is. State Law doesn't look at what time of day. It says use it so I used it. I would rather have it going and not risk that ONE car that happened to be out at that time pulling out in front of me. You have the siren, you use it. Period!
@wpfd432 I did not say never use it . And was asking if there was a law and if so I would have used it less in this case . I am not ragging on you , just saying what I would do .
@9caplad I understand completely and I hope you didn't take it as I was doing the same to you. Using the siren was not a waste. I hate to stir up the neighborhood for these things as much as anyone. But ANYTHING can happen and as fire service personnel, we should always use what is available to us to keep the edge. But regardless, thank you for your support in watching and commenting. Always hope somebody can gain something.
@wpfd432 Yes and the main thing noi one get hurt . The next time I am heading to an early morning job, I will think of this law and make a little noise on my way .
Very Nice Job.. Great work at the Scene. Alway use the siren, I didn't use it one night and ended up in a reck with a broken jaw.. Unless there a ordinance preventing the use of sirens after a given time. USE IT!
@kapcom105 The other night in Kansas I was on the highway and a patrol car passed me, he must have been doing every bit of 100, no sirens, no lights. You talk about dangerous, they need to have an ordinance that every emergency vehicle responding to a call at high speed must have lights and siren going, even on a silent approach, they should have at least their lights on.
@thalo215 I found that out on another site with the same video . I dont say never use it .But in this case it seemed not needed or maybe a little less use would have been fine . .
This is one of the best fireground videos I have watched. I felt like I was right there with you backing you up on the 2 1/2. Keep them coming. these are awesome!
I have to say your style of videos are the best!! I just think it be nice if you could when responding in the rig put the video camera from a POV in the back. Just my opinion.
@firecaptin14 i think it may depend on your computer..but i have the fire cam III...and it probably take about an hour and a half for a 50 min video..but i love it, and it is worth it..i only wish i would of invested in the HD one first instead
@firecaptin14 i got the cheapest one, which was under $200..but they sold out of those, and they dont have them in their store anymore..and idk what their plan is to bring it back, or even if they will..but right now the cheapest one they have is $230..but its in HD so..their website is firevideo (dot) net

Do you mind if our fire department uses this video and a couple other of your videos for training purposes on how to propery read smoke?
blakebeahler 2 weeks ago in playlist Uploaded videos
@blakebeahler That would be great. That is our main purpose in videoing calls, to learn and train, and hopefully not repeat the same mistakes.

Just wondering, just realizing this is a really dark scene. Do any of your trucks have mounted scene lighting?

@9caplad some states mandate siren use with lights regardless of the time of day. i don't like using the siren that late at night but i do.
