you can do it like this: when you get touch the platform (when you fail), moving forward little (you may move forward to get quit "falco sited") then directs stick down

might be the quick platform drop, i believe you do kind of a reverse hadouken motion and the character drops quicker.

Actually, if you go and take a closer look at the first match you can see it was player 2 who paused which was actually Zhu not M2K. The screen just focused on M2K cause Zhu was already out of the picture.
