I noticed a part was cut off out of the cartoon. Before Porky was stopped at the cliff... Injun Joe was chasing Porky over some mountains, and Injun Joe just sliced through the mountains. And the mountains dropped shorter to the ground. But, otherwise , it's still a great cartoon .
Wow, I haven't seen this cartoon in almost twenty years. Somehow it still amuses me.
Also, I like that it shows popular sentiments of white people regarding the various native tribes in North America during the age when it was made. Today it would be anathema to even SUGGEST the feelings of people in older times toward different races. Case in point: Injun Joe. See also: Nigga Jim from Huckleberry Finn.
@internetbites Showing the cartoon without context means that people won't get that it's a feeling "of its time". We have enough people repeating stereotypes today, we don't need to reproduce the ones made before as well.
I find it funny how when im watching the cartoons with black people are racistbut when i see this cartoon with an indian acting like a savage, everyone says they like it. dnt u think this is considered racist as well. no offense but ur a hypocrite is u dnt. im black and i dnt think the black cartoons arent bad. they just encourage steriotypes. doesnt mean its racist
Re-uses about 70% of the animation of "Injun Trouble" which Clampett also made seven years earlier. Both are great, but obviously very, very similar - almost identical in most spots. Wonder why he chose to re-make it?
@MelosAntropon To make Injun Joe: The Super Chief WHOOO WHOOO! look more intimidating perhaps, I mean he pretty much passes on as native american Chuck Norris =P
also, the train chief too much in the original version and there were so many machine-guns. lol
Originally released in July 1945, this is a color remake of Clampett's 1938 "Injun Trouble" (not to be confused with the 1969 McKimson cartoon of the same name).
At 1:01 is a World War II reference - "Is this trip REALLY necessary?" - here referring to travel restrictions.
The racist faces of society transcend any other culture on this modern age. Disguised a in technocolor and punch lines. From professional teams to high school mascots this seams to never end for my native peoples. But oh yeah your paying tribute, yeah right.
@hostilendn Four lines for what, really? Trying to get comfort from people, dipshit? Fuck you and fuck political correctness. By the way, that first line was a pathetic excuse at Anthropology. Learn how to write properly, you imbecile. And, for a 41 year-old, seeking solace in video games isn't the way to go, loser. Go Injun Joe.
@hostilendn If you'll hang on a minute, I'll get you a beach towel to dry your tears. It's pathetic pieces of human detritus such as yourself that is what is wrong with this country. F*CK political correctness, and you too.
I won't argue with you, American Indians have had the thin end of the stick for far too long. But I still think this is one damn funny cartoon; it's hard not to enjoy something so idiotic.
Would that Injun Joe had been real, and on your side.
At least he was defeated in a nonviolent, if silly way.
I love this video, I like how they portray we walk with are toes inward...lol although im not sure where they got it from...superb cartoon, loony toons rule all
Thank you for uploading this!! The only other place I could find this video was a foreign video-sharing website where it took a good hour for the clip to fully load.
@MsPandaRosa -- Technically Injun Joe appeared in two cartoons. This was a remake of a black-and-white picture Clampett directed several years earlier, "Injun Trouble". Not to be confused with a Cool Cat cartoon of the same name.

Is this the cartoon where Nancy Pelosi got the idea to proclaim she's got something on Newt Gingrich?
