I used bleaching trays from the dentist but found drugstore bleaching strips (like Crest Whitestrips) faster, more convenient, and economical. The big drugstore chains in the US have their own store brand that are effective & reasonably priced: last time I looked it was about $20 for a kit. The ones I bought at Walgreens are worn for 30 minutes a day (no discomfort), and I noticed a difference within 3 days. By the end of the full week, my teeth looked great. I touch up every 6 - 12 months.
I'm sorry but as I personally know a dentist. He tells me White teeth are unhealthy. Yellow teeth show you'r teeth are healthy. White teeth show that you'r teeth are brittle and unhealthy whereas it's the other way round is you have yellow discoloured teeth.

i actually find some people looking better without completely perfect teeth. There's that distinguish look compared to all the generically braced teeth.

Not at all, it even says on the bottle "for oral hygene". Just don't drink it! Toothpaste is more hazardous to ingest than peroxide. You can also make your dog throw up by giving a tbs. of hydrogen peroxide. Helpful if your dog ingests something hazardous.

That's like buying 300 crest whitening strips which obviously costs alot more.

Good point on tooth space that promises all. I designed packaging for Colgate and the truth is, they usually put in very little active ingredient. They told me straight up. Pastes that promise more than one thing? Tarter-whitening, breath-cavity control all in one?-save your money. Peroxide works. It is the active item in most whitening pastes and rinses anyway. Home remedy that uses peroxide and baking soda-WORKS, but don't do too often. Abrasive. The molds he mentions are likely fine.

Another way to whiten your teeth is to give up coffee and find some other way to get a caffeine fix. Coffee is probably the number one stainer of teeth in America. My aunt gave up coffee for lent this year and her teeth were 5X as white as they were before she started.
Anybody else into Rembrandt? I use it occasionally when I need to de-stain, just a light brushing after my normal routine 2x/week for about a month, every couple of years. Strips are fine for smaller mouths but I have a giant smile so I have to keep all of them pearly white!

I've been using teeth whitening since I was 16. It's called "bleaching", but there really isn't bleach in the product, it's usually peroxide. The only symptoms I ever felt was teeth sensitivity the first time I whitened. Now I don't feel that anymore. I did the 14 days straight, 2x a day deal, and I haven't had to do it 4 four months now. I also use Colgate Total Advanced Whitening toothpaste to maintain the white. Hope this helps some.
If you do it for the number of days required and then wait until it really is necessary to do again, it shouldn't be too bad. I'm the levels of peroxide aren't very high, which is why it usually takes 14 days.
When I used whitestripes I was blown away. Every day my teeth got whiter. People started commenting - many dozens of complements, even from women in elevators. "Wow you've got a great smile." (of course I choked but I'm learning) One of my buddies asked if I had lost my teeth in a hockey game and got dentures on the sly. This is the best pick up anyone can do for the dollar. my friends say my teath glow like crazy in the good way and there crazy white there is not one day that goes by that people dont tell me. the only thing i do is use listerine in my mouth befor i brush and i use day stuff by crest during the day and right before i go to bed i put the nigh stuff on to help them from fading. i use white stripes every 3-6 months just to shine them up, cause if you use them to often they become crazy sensative. and i brush and rinse like 6 plus times a day
A cheaper way to keep your teeth white without paying for the whitening trays that make your teeth and gums sensitive is to buy some cheap hydrogen peroxide from walgreens or some other store and dilute it about half with either water or a light colored blue or preferably clear or white (if you can find it) mouthwash. That's basically all that the Crest whitening mouthwash is. Hydrogen peroxide also works well on lightening your hair too, just blow dry it and wash it out a few times.
Probably okay to use once or twice a year, but it weakens the enamel. I know someone who was overzealous with the bleaching and developed brittle teeth that chip easily. Costly to repair.
Save your money and buy hydrogen peroxide. Yep, the stuff you get at Wal Mart for .68 a bottle. Use straigh like mouthwash every day after brushing. I have done this for years and get many complements on my white teeth. Also, it's very good for your mouth in killing germs!

This is absolutely ridiculous. He criticises Crest Whitestrips for costing too much - at $30 then recommends ordering trays and gel costing $50 or more. Whitestrips contain the same gel so the "active ingredient" is the same - he just recommends the dearer option. Idiot!

Good point on tooth space that promises all. I designed packaging for Colgate and the truth is, they usually put in very little active ingredient. They told me straight up. Pastes that promise more than one thing? Tarter-whitening, breath-cavity control all in one?-save your money. Peroxide works. It is the active item in most whitening pastes and rinses anyway. Home remedy that uses peroxide and baking soda-WORKS, but don't do too often. Abrasive. The molds he mentions are likely fine.

Another way to whiten your teeth is to give up coffee and find some other way to get a caffeine fix. Coffee is probably the number one stainer of teeth in America. My aunt gave up coffee for lent this year and her teeth were 5X as white as they were before she started.

Anybody else into Rembrandt? I use it occasionally when I need to de-stain, just a light brushing after my normal routine 2x/week for about a month, every couple of years. Strips are fine for smaller mouths but I have a giant smile so I have to keep all of them pearly white!

hi.i am a dentist and also a big fan of ur videos...this way to make your teeth is very bad...why?cuz u make ur teeth whiter for a short time but u can also make dental carie, cavitis, and in some cases u can loose ur teeth...alosi that sutff attacks ur gums....thing that makes them retrat and make ur teeth more likely to fall off...if u are going to use this stuff ask a dentist or use them rare and wise.

more serious comment. I know you said every 1-2 months so you don't constantly bleach. but are there any health side effects you know of? i mean bleach is used to kill anything and everything, jsut worried it could be a carcinogen and accelerate oral cancer in our mouth?

I've been using teeth whitening since I was 16. It's called "bleaching", but there really isn't bleach in the product, it's usually peroxide. The only symptoms I ever felt was teeth sensitivity the first time I whitened. Now I don't feel that anymore. I did the 14 days straight, 2x a day deal, and I haven't had to do it 4 four months now. I also use Colgate Total Advanced Whitening toothpaste to maintain the white. Hope this helps some.

Thanks man. I only ask because I know peroxide is an oxidizing agent and I was afraid it could cause cancer (as you know oxidation is bad for cells)

If you do it for the number of days required and then wait until it really is necessary to do again, it shouldn't be too bad. I'm the levels of peroxide aren't very high, which is why it usually takes 14 days.

When I used whitestripes I was blown away. Every day my teeth got whiter. People started commenting - many dozens of complements, even from women in elevators. "Wow you've got a great smile." (of course I choked but I'm learning) One of my buddies asked if I had lost my teeth in a hockey game and got dentures on the sly. This is the best pick up anyone can do for the dollar. I'll look into the trays - could be best for steady maintenance. Another great vid Aaron. pm.

my friends say my teath glow like crazy in the good way and there crazy white there is not one day that goes by that people dont tell me. the only thing i do is use listerine in my mouth befor i brush and i use day stuff by crest during the day and right before i go to bed i put the nigh stuff on to help them from fading. i use white stripes every 3-6 months just to shine them up, cause if you use them to often they become crazy sensative. and i brush and rinse like 6 plus times a day

A cheaper way to keep your teeth white without paying for the whitening trays that make your teeth and gums sensitive is to buy some cheap hydrogen peroxide from walgreens or some other store and dilute it about half with either water or a light colored blue or preferably clear or white (if you can find it) mouthwash. That's basically all that the Crest whitening mouthwash is. Hydrogen peroxide also works well on lightening your hair too, just blow dry it and wash it out a few times.

Probably okay to use once or twice a year, but it weakens the enamel. I know someone who was overzealous with the bleaching and developed brittle teeth that chip easily. Costly to repair.

Save your money and buy hydrogen peroxide. Yep, the stuff you get at Wal Mart for .68 a bottle. Use straigh like mouthwash every day after brushing. I have done this for years and get many complements on my white teeth. Also, it's very good for your mouth in killing germs!
