Balkars have the same traditions and culture as Adigas. They are closer to Adigas, especially Kabardeys, than Chechens are. Chechens for instance marry their cousins, Balkars would never marry any relative, set aside their cousins. And their physical look is totally Caucasian. My family and I have visited several Karachay (a sort of Balkar) villages in Turkey, they look like Circassians, except that their hair colour is lighter.
Their children are all blond. And their main dance in weddings is qafa as it is with Kabardeys. Saying Balkars are not Caucasians is like saying Turks are not Anatolians or Serbs are not Balkanians.

There are 3 groups of Circassians: Adyghes (includes also Kabardeys who sometimes are considered a seperate group), Ubykhs (the smallest Circassian group) and Abkhazs.... Most Circassians are Sunni (Hanafi) Muslims. Actually all the deported Circassians were Muslims. However, among those who stayed in Caucasus the majority of Abkhazs and some Kabadeys are Orthodox Christians... Arabs call Circassians Sharkas. Turks call us Çerkez.

Balkars have the same traditions and culture as Adigas. They are closer to Adigas, especially Kabardeys, than Chechens are. Chechens for instance marry their cousins, Balkars would never marry any relative, set aside their cousins. And their physical look is totally Caucasian. My family and I have visited several Karachay (a sort of Balkar) villages in Turkey, they look like Circassians, except that their hair colour is lighter.

CIrcassian are in pontic race - it is not included on balkano-caucasian race. Balkarian, Karachais, Checyhens, Ingushs, Ossets, Avars are central caucasionic type - it is indigenous type.
