The reason you can't kill Steve, is because he saves your ass later on in the game. The large tentacle that destroyed the snow plow, he ends up cutting in half and passes out. Only in the Biohazard version of this game can you save Steve.

@gastong16 really? you don't think a fight where the ONLY way to win is to have big healing items is bad design (I hear that with the crossbow you might be able to make it, but i've never seen it). This was one of my friends first resident evil, and he had to restart the entire game because he didn't have enough healing items. Like I said though its a great game and I love it, but it has its problems, and this fight was a great example of bad design.

because in this form Steve is INVENCIBLE, so you can't kill him, you only have to run to the dor and no more xD for the T- veronica.

You realise all you need to get through this fight is like 2 gas rounds? When you go through the metal detector at the beginning of the game there is 6 flame rounds and 3 gas grenade rounds for the grenade launcher, save them till this fight they are so effective they slow him right down so all you have to do is run through the gate. If you knew this, tell the others it is the easiest strategy if you have trouble ;)

That's great if it's trye, but people have to weigh using the grenade launcher as chris at the end of the game. Also, maybe I like to use all three b.o.w. rounds sooner? Do you know the game mechanics of the b.o.w. rounds?

You only have to use one of the rounds against him, they slow him down for a good second or two to give you a headstart. You can just run but he WILL catch you a couple of times and you WILL need to use herbs he is just too fast to run and not take damage, so it is an alternative strategy for those who are short on herbs or have trouble getting out in general. It is your choice whether to use them all or not but they are extremely powerful rounds so use them on harder bosses :)

I use the knife and the crossbow a lot in the beginning and saved hundreds of pistol ammo. The upgraded pistols (with 600+ ammo) and the shotgun are great on pretty much everything.

The rocket launcher you can get by getting a S rank (or A if you've got a PAL copy). I find this game to be the hardest to get a S on, though. No saves, except from the mid-game one, no sprays and complete it in around 4 hours.

Linear Launcher I got from a cheat disc. There's no way to get it otherwise. There's also a code on the disc to put the whole game in first-person, it's brilliant <3
