  • hahaha the guy sounded amazed

  • The dog barking created a reaction strike, lol nah j/k. nice follow up bait, I do this with a spinner bait alot, fishing around the outer edges of the weeds during the mid day, they sometimes miss the spinner bait, or chime the blades, even with a Stinger hook, so ill follow up with a R.C. 2.5 wake bait, and burn that past and they usually come back and smack that, if not the wake bait im going to flip a sweet beaver in bluegill, (backwards) dipped tip in spike-it chartreuse, nail weighted.

  • great technique. I was fishing the mats the other day and had a fish hit a rojas within a matter of seconds. I flippd right back in there with a baby paca craw and pulled up a 4lb fish. Cant go wrong with the sweet beavers though, there in my all time bass arsenal

  • Looks like one beautiful spot

  • thanks ur the bomb!

  • They have a color called California 420

  • @davidhoozel That color is smokin hot

  • weighted or un weighted?

  • @flurbsmcgurgs Texas Rigged with a 3/16 Bullet weight pegged is what I used in the video. Also try the belly weighted hooks, they work great when you're fishing more open water situations.

  • That dog scared the shit out of me when it started barking.

  • i want to know where this is, i mean....you find the oddest places, is that still in tournament boundaries? haha

  • Yeah, I'm in the back of Catfish Slough at Clear Lake. There are quite a few back water sloughs at Clear Lake between Lakeport and the State Park.

  • Corndog sweetbeavers work great on a brown and purple jig.

  • wat color were you throwin out???

oh and have you ever fished socal???

  • "Delicious" in the 420 size.

Been to Mead and Havasu a few times, and Diamond Valley once.

  • cool so i fish socal ....think i should get delicios???

  • It's a great color for dirty water, 2 foot or less visibility. So it would probably only work in winter after a big storm. Otherwise the water in the socal lakes is usually too clear.

  • oh ok

    cool

im thinking of getting "mossy mud"

  • u ever throw infection color?

  • oh wow that looks like heaven for flippin a jig

  • nope, but it looks pretty good. Brown/Chartreuse right?

  • beavers are my favorite. the smallie beavers in the main vein color is my favorite this weekend i got 19 bass including a 15 and 16"

  • Nice. My favorite color is the California 420, which is a watermelon with red and black flake.

  • They sell them jigs everywhere? cuz I live in PA and right now the jig bight is frikkin hot! So could I get them at a gander mountain? That California 420 sounds good.

  • what size beavers were you using/recommand rus?

  • I use all three sizes, smallie, 420, and the double wide. In this video I'm using the 420, which is the middle sized one. All of them work great, it just depends on the conditions.

  • i love sweet beavers! double wide or vixen is what i use on the regular

  • right on man, i started using beavers about a week ago, and so far have caught two 4 1/2 bass, and one a little over 9lbs

  • Nice work. Try the Beavers as a trailer on the end of your jig. I've had quite a bit of luck doing that.

  • you should show the bait to the camera sometime so we can see what it looks like

  • at the end of the video you can see a picture of the lure I'm using. Sweet Beavers work great!

  • Man it is funny reading this! We where flippin heavy bullrush yesterday and my bro hooked a 7lb 10oz large mouth and the 4/0 Gamakatsu EWG he was using bent straight out! I was able to net the fish as it smacked the side of the boat but it was close! I went to Bass Pro today and picked up some of the superline hooks. THANKS AGAIN MAN

  • At least you landed that giant bass. You should be happy with the super line hooks. They definitely wont bend out on you.

  • What is the difference in the superline hooks and the regular ones? I used the beaver today with no luck!

  • Superline hooks have a lot thicker gauge wire and are usually used with at least 20lb mono or 50lb braid. They wont bend out when trying to pull fish out of heavy cover, where as non superline hooks might bend out in this situation. Using Superline hooks with light line is a bad idea because it will be hard to penetrate the hook without breaking the line, because of the thick gauge wire.

  • One more thing, what size hook and weight do you recommend for the 4.20" beaver? THANKS

  • 3/0 Gamakatsu EWG. I use the Super Line when flipping heavy cover, and the regular one when I'm not.

  • Hey man, love your vids! What size and color beaver where you using?

  • In this video I am flipping a 420 Sweet Beaver in the "Delicious" color, which works great in dirty water. It's Black and Brown with red/green flake. All 3 sizes work great. Smallie Beaver, 420 Sweet Beaver, and the Double Wide Sweet Beaver. Some of my other favorite colors are, Juicy, Oxblood, California 420, Sprayed Grass, and Green Pumpkin/ Watermelon. They also work great when used as a trailer for a jig.

  • Thanks alot man! I just ordered some 4.20s today. I was going to get the smallie but thought it was too small!

  • The smallie beaver works awesome as a trailer on a 1/4 or 3/8 ounce finesse jig. Thats probably the only time I really use it.

  • I like sweet beaver too!
