wtf are you talking about? Hardware for pcs is not limited, macs have theirs soldered in. pcs do not ALWAYS freeze, only when you are too noobish and try to open everything at once. Does not take long at all to start, OSX takes longer. All you have to do to update is turn off your computer and it does it automatically.

On the hardware end, since intel got involved with Apple, you can really only compare software. Mac OS is based on BSD, and has a shiny front end with a lot of eye candy. On the Microsoft end, we have a company that produced highly flawed software in the past now has a good product. It still lacks that UNIX stability that OS X has, but it's improving and has good eye candy.

I run Linux on both platforms. If eye candy is your only concern, search around for "Xgl" to see interesting stuff.
