  • The only thing i want is that case.

    :/

  • Wow a Chappers video I haven't seen? Sick!

  • If you gig regularly with a handle like that you'll notice it falls off. Like mine did.

  • that was an Esus4/G or an e minor add 11 :)

  • 0:52 - 1:13

Another one for what we were talking about earlier? :D

  • acoustic is totally lame and not metal

  • @BurzumLostWisdom We all have our own tastes. Acoustic guitars are not lame.

  • how much?

  • This isn't shredding, qua woodshedding. It's doodling. Suggest developing a relationship with a metronome, and invaluable aid to improving time-keeping.

  • shredding an acoustic just sounds like jazz

  • I really liked your look in this video!

I challenge you to cut your hair to the same size !

Would you be able to try and complete the challenge?

  • looking back at these old videos you look awkward with short hair. haha

  • 'Now that, is some serious case porn' pmsl, genius!

  • HMMM!!!! guess that chord... well, I don't have any pitches with me, but I'd assume that's an A13 (with a 9 on top)... textbook voicing 575677... the 5th might not be in there, but judging from your style of playing "jazz" chords with a barre, I'd say it is there. cheers! -ag

  • Sounds like a baby Taylor. Sounds a bit top end too.

  • what is that bluesy kinda country piece that starts at about 3:44?

  • lmfaoo my dog can sleep in the case.

    nice shredding hahas

  • For a really great parlour sound, look for a demo of the LAG parlour. Search for this keyphrase on Youtube ... parlor guitar ,LAG french/chinese

Demos of the Faith and The LAG on the BAROQUE AND ROLL website.

Must say, I prefer the LAG.

  • how much?

  • show me you can play fingerstyle well and then you mite impress me but strumming is not impressive! neither are covers the shredding bit was alrite basic pentatonics and i think a mainly major scales also your guitar rattles more than my 1st guitar which was £40 from a charity shop dont brag bout a shit guitar!

  • I am not sure about this Parlor, sound very top end tin and rattles, a little Martin or baby taylor sound much better than this.

  • That top end is just the camera mic, the Parlour has tons of low end!

  • Alot of power in that guitar! I'm going to get me a faith one day ^-^

  • i could be way off but this is off the top of my head, is the chord a Gmaj?

  • no one knows!!!! that song is awesome

  • (Please click on reply ;))

Does anyone know how the Hi gloss Venus is? I

    Thanks ;)

  • How much are these puppies new? I can't find any online dealer's anywhere.

  • dude! We so need another one of these summer shredding vids! this is my favourite vid you have done! its AWESOME!.. please here my call! - the monkey lord - YOUR fellow monkeys need you!

  • what songs do you play in this video?

  • first one is one of mine, no one knows - QOTSA, bohemian like me, Blue on black - Kenny wayne shepherd, a made up jam, random shred, White Rose - one of mine, an eric Clapton thing - Tears in heaven??, another of mine called War Horse, tenacious D - tribute. phew....

  • 0:51, No One Knows ftw. :)

  • whats the name of the song that starts on 3:44 Rob?

  • Deed done! £349 measly stirling - bits of paper exchanged with Merchant City Music of Glasgow for one Faith Mercury (not electro model). Result ; happiness! Very impressed with the quality and Rob's descriptions are spot-on, the sound is very bright and percussive. I currently play an Ovation Celebrity (electro acoustic) though a superb instrument it now feels unbalanced and awkward compared to the Faith. I wouldn't part with my Ovation - but it may gather a bit of dust.

    Cheers Rob

  • Good ol' Merchant City Music, I got my Mockingbird special from there. Been looking at this Faith for some time now, what do you thing of it? Is it quite soully and equal in tone with a nice low end?

    Thanks

    Matt

  • Yes Matt - 12 months on and I still love this guitar. I bought it to play bluesy styles e.g. delta style and it more than fits the bill - even if my playing doesn't. Mine has been in the hands of proffessional musicians : Blindboy (see Deltabluestips) and Nigel Blackwell (Half Man Half Biscuit) both gave mine thumbs up. Hope this helps.

    Steve.

P,S Mocking Bird Special = top class instrument - fine choice, The Faith Parlour is of course a much quieter instrument.

  • Why are you not in Canada!!!!

You could be my guitar teacher!!!!

  • I love the guitar and the playing is top notch. Suffice to say I feel a purchase coming on and predict that a certain high street bank will experience a withdrawl of about £350 before close of business today causing a rise of blood pressure to my wife when she checks the current account,

Now Rob put it down and get the shears out. That undergrowth needs thinning before the S.A.S. claim it as a training area.

  • Ha ha! You should see the rest of my garden, I can't ;-) it's like a jungle, and I am it's lord \M/

  • chappers... you need to do another one man! im really missing you blues! let me know wen vyour doing another please!

  • Subscribe dude, I just uploaded a few more Faith videos and I have more blues ones on the way :-)

  • I already is man. Gardening - piffle. You keep playing - you are THE M LORD. We'll get Rosemary and Thyme (Grrr) gardening Milfs to sort out yer undergrowth. Hope they don't find the remains of Hake Dogfish, Merseysippi Delta Bluesman vanished 1978 after being accused (wrongly) of breaking into a £10 note and insulting Chester Council with the line - 'I'd hang a rope down at the crossroad, to bring my poor heart ease, but the devil's council built a roundabout, cut down all the trees''

  • Hey Rob, I like this video. Could you possibly do a video on come cool acoustic licks? I'm good on electric but, as you know, acoustic is a whole other world

  • Do you know when these will be available in America?

  • Me guess is this guy is probably a pothead =P

  • nice bit of queens of the stone age there rob

do you like "kyuss" as well?

if not you should have a listen to the album "welcome to sky valley" its awesome, i think its worth the chappers listen.

    nice playing

  • sorry for the last comment - should have been a reply to peachy901 on his 'dandylion warhols' comment below

    messed up

    now I'm doomed

Believe Rob refers to it as Stones stuff further back in the thread

    doomed again

  • You are not doomed, we all love you :-)

  • thx Monkeylord, I am humble & grateful

keep on rocking/shredding in the free world

  • Hi Rob, Great vid mate! Fantastic guitar, it is awesome how you have been able to get the guitar to sound like a jet flying over head within your chord changes ;-)

  • DAMN! I can't get these in the states.

  • You can get these in USA very soon mate :-)

  • i like your style

  • Such a gorgeous guitar.

  • 1:26 that a part of Kickapoo lol!

  • nah its was dandylion warhols

  • 'Bohemian like you' right?

  • thats the one, couldnt remember the name

  • This is quite cool. If you pause the video just right a 3:40 the sun reflects off your guitar but it looks like your soul is shining outward while you look down. Pretty cool.

  • Ha ha.. never noticed that before! :-)

  • that is the coolest bit of shedding in the world!!! it sounds so good!!!! especially since its totally clean!!!!! And i am proud to say that i own the same wooden chair as you!!! whoot!!!! lol

  • Ha ha.. Thanks man, we are like chair brothers :-)

  • thats a bit of qotsa isnt it!!!!! rock on!!!!

  • yoo please tell me tht was tribute at the end by tenacious d?? i wanna know how to play tht cud u post a tutorial please im a begginer and can u check my videos out cheers m8 ncie vid

  • The actual riff is based on Led zeppelin's "stairway to heaven" but yes that was the tenacious d version

  • You are definitely influenced by Seasick Steve if you havn't heard of him youtube him.

  • This sounds way better than the Michael Angelo Batio shred that its linked to. Awesome man.

  • Okay, the chord is a G#major9th over an F with an added 19th. Am I right or what???:D

  • Very close mate :-)

    G#major13

  • Was supposed to be a joke, but I came pretty near. :)) What did I win?:D

  • Ha ha..Sorry mate I gave the prize away 6 months ago! Your prize is to know you have pretty good ears :-)

  • Can I have a written proof signed by you?:D

  • Ha ha of course! :-)

  • I love you Chappers...just wanted to let you know...

  • I love you to buddy! :-)

  • What is that cool riff you do at the end there?

  • It's Tenacious D, Tribute :-)

  • 3333 vies nice

  • I have a case like that - brown on the outside, green plush interior. The annoying thing is that for those who travel and play...the middle case snap has a place for a little lock to go into, to prevent the case from opening. But they don't make the groove deep enough on just about every case that I have seen, and even with a 'lock' on it...the hasp can just be forced out of the locking groove. My Takamine case is like this, along with seemingly every other case. Cool guitar and case, though.

  • i bet smells like teen spirit would kickass

    on that lol

  • Queens of the Stone Age - No One Knows, niiiice!

  • Nice shredding Rob I wish I could play like you! I can barely wait your website!

  • Thanks Lorant! Appreciate your nice comment, yeah the website will be awesome :-)

  • Awesome Chappers! your are great!.. maybe i could get some videos lessons??

  • Sure feel free to email me, although there is a bit of a back log :-)

  • Sounds great man. Either the guitar looks a little smaller than average, or your a meathead :)

  • Ha ha.. Dude it's a parlour guitar! A small acoustic.. I am 6 foot tall.

  • Great demo, excellent playing. You are an inspiration. Thanks

  • Thanks mate, like you more with every post you make :-)

  • whats the song do u play at 1:27 thanks

  • I made it up mate, it's kind of a stones thing :-)

  • hey chappers what picks do u use?

  • Hi mate i use Jim Dunlop xtra heavey :-)

  • i use the exact same picks, there brilliant

  • Yeah, the guitar is great, but that song you play at the beginning is even better. Seriously, how come The Black Hand isn't big over here in America? You guys are certainly better looking and better musicians than Fall Out Boy and other crap like that. Keep at it, Rob. You now have a devoted fan from the Midwest.

  • Wow thanks mate! Actually we are headed to america later this year around July time to play a string of gigs in LA... Are you any where around there?

  • It sounds great, what do they retail for?

  • Cheers buddy! They go for about £399 :-)

  • G7/13add9 ?

  • Wow.. You are right mate!! Well done :-)

    it goes 1, b7, 3, 6, 9

Randomcomicboy wins this round and achieves level 2 hearing god status :-)

  • haha cheers mate ;) i need to be on top of my game because i've got my grade 7 exam today, so this was a bit of practise really :)

    (ps, chappers, you are godly)

  • was that chord a "G7" chord?

    or am i way off???

  • ha ha.. close but no banana!! I will tell everyone what it was next Faith video :-)

  • dude, showed this to a mate who is also a guitar wannabe like me and had to stop him drooling (its the case candy)

but we did have a bit of a dispute over the vaguely Rolling stones moves u pulled after "chappers chord quiz"

He reckons its primal screams "rocks" so dude put us out of our misery!!

    AWESOME

  • Hey it's Gazmatron!! Yeah it's some serious CC :-) Umm to be honest I kinda just did that Rolling stones type chord thing without thinking..so you are both kinda right! Hope that relievs the misery :-)

  • Haha, love your attitude!

How much is one of those shipped to southern sweden? :D

    Nice tunes.... cheers!

  • Thanks mate.. not sure, best bet is to contact Faith direct at their website - (Normal beginning) faithguitars (Normal Ending)

  • lol, case porn :)

"Now that the summer's on the way" - I wish the summer was on the way here also, we had a freaking snow storm just last week... but then again, I do live in Finland, so...

  • Wow.. that's quite cool.. we didn't get any snow at all.. :-(

  • Shredding? Shredding! You call that shredding? Remind me to introduce you to the spirits of Flamenco and Jazz.

Like the hair and the playing by the way.

  • Thanks dad :-)

  • Cool~0_0~♪

  • Cheers Komouso ♪ :-)

  • Top notch my man

  • Thanks mate :-)

  • Very nice, Was that a bit of the pusher at about 3:33?

  • Not sure mate, just something I jam lot... thinks it's Robert Johnson :)

  • Glad to see that I'm not the only one who took the sunshine we had as an excuse to take the acoustic into the back garden. I hope, as I did, that you have some sort of beverage off camera?

  • ha ha.. yeah but it's just a coffee... I can't drink and play. :-)

  • Neither can I, but it doesn't stop me trying! Always a moment of embaressment at the house parties when someone passes your the guitar and it all elegantly falls to pieces. Never gets old that one!

  • nice stuff as usual chappers, i was reading an old total guitar yesterday and saw your face in an ad for some music institue i lol'd out and said "is that chappers?!?!? it is chappers!!"

anyway, that faith guitar looks great. When iwent to get a cheap acoustic not so long ago it was like parlour guitars had disappeared of teh face of the earth unless you wanted to spend 1k plus... i dont find a full size dreadnought as half much fun to play

  • CM7*9b5 is the chord i think

  • Hmmm close... but wrong :-)

  • oh very nice,

    sounds great!

and acoustic shredding always just souds lovely

    ..weirdly enough

    lol

    peace.

  • do they do a cut away version??

  • Not of the parlour! But they do a great Saturn Cutaway which I also have... Video coming soon :-)

  • Hey Chappers, nice vid as always... I did some googling and found a price-tag around 500 quid for that beauty... if that's the case I'm getting one... sounds freaking awesome....

  • Thanks mate, yeah it is really good, almost feels like a Les Paul :-)

  • Your vids are always so good, cool jams here too.

  • Thanks Tricky :-)

  • Is that chord the legendary B demented?

  • Got it in one mate! :-)

  • 2:55-3:25 is so awsometab it...

  • That's my tune "White Rose" going to bring it to the band soon :-)

  • sweet. so glad i subscribed

  • Sounds great, love the acoustic shred!

  • Jaw-some as ever! and that is one seriously comfy handle

  • It is a beauty! Cheer Fred :-)

  • yo ROB can you send me an electric guitar LOL!!!

hey ur great!!! u play awsome U ROCK!!!

    :D

  • Thanks Dayna, yeah no pron it's on it's way ha ha :-)

  • What was the song you were playing at about 3:30? Reminded me of a Clapton song..

  • Yeah I think it's a Robert Johnson thing so he probably stole it :-)

  • You should be in instructional videos. How long have you been playing?

  • Wow thanks mate, for 16 years now :-)

  • Seriously, I would buy your videos. You are extremely talented.

  • Thanks mate :-) keep an eye out for a new website of my name coming very soon...
