  • ride on brother.

  • Homie has a beast cadence @:42

  • beast.

  • pretty cool, i like the way those knogs light up the shiny spokes to, think your seat is a bit to low btw :)

  • Don't listen to these people. Beautiful fixed gear bike :D

  • he got some nice bars

  • @fixedgearforlife lmfao! Ye ok kid, that's real smart. Iv got a good idea; why don't you embarrasses yourself further with another aggressive, hyped up, moronic response. (its heartbreaking were not mates)

  • @fixedgearforlife ye ok mate. Last thing I wanna be doing is riding with a guy on a fixie, let alone some hyped up noob who thinks a way to get respect is to sabotage other ppls bikes every time he throws a tantrum. Sort yourself out kid.

  • @philgrinspoon Mate? I am not your fucking mate and no, I don't need to sort myself out. I'd rather get hit by a bus than be your mate. A hyped up noob.......never heard that one before. If anything I like to think of myself as an asshole.

  • poser or not who the hell gives a fuck hes riding a dam bike

  • @nilo2209 If you ride at different speeds then you need gears. Of course you can strain your legs to work a higher gear than needs be and of course you can frantically spin when its too low for the speed your travelling but seriously, why would anyone want to do that? Cus of simplicity right? Causes less problems? You constantly strain your legs (especially knees), forcing round a higher gear than needs be, wait few more years for those probs.

  • @nilo2209 Hahaha all you guys are soo defensive! None of those probs with my gears mate (I maintain my bike properly) you've all tried a bike like mine? (Didn't realise we knew each other) and performance, efficacy and practicality matter far more to me than minimal maintenance (lol you even thought that a good argument)

  • @philgrinspoon You're gonna have to ride a single speed...........if I cut your cables.lol Trust me you do not want to piss me off out on a ride. I always carry a pair of dykes for those occasions. That's one of the reasons why the "pros" respected me.

  • @fixedgearforlife Lmfao calm down kid. Of course these "pro's" are gonna give you respect for keeping up, you ride a highly illogical bike which therefore makes riding 10 times harder than it needs to be all because........ "Umm, errr...uumm..... It just feels better ok! Stop hatin. Gotta laugh at fixie an ss riders they always want extra credit for makin there life harder

  • @philgrinspoon Laugh all you like. Especially when that derailleur fucks up on you because you go over a bump or because you got dirt into the shit. Or when temperature is -10 C and your cables freeze up. Or when you realize many of your gears are the same and you only use half the sprockets on your cassette. Or when you are cleaning the shit. Fact: We have all tried a bike like yours and dumped it for the real thing that goes on forever in all weather and with minimal maintenance.

  • i bike (insane) that kids push'in 30 or betta

  • @yvesofzo look how fast his legs are going he clearly needs a higher gear for the speed and gradient he's travelling. It would make him much faster instead of pointlessly wasting energy frantically spinning. And he's a poser cus he rides a fixie. A pro laughs at so called serious cyclists who ride ss or fixed, its highly illogical unless your doin tricks or on the veladrome (and even then you need gears). Fact

  • @philgrinspoon I've ridden with a lot of "pros" who would talk shit about fixed gear but at the same time didn't even know how to ride fixed. Believe it or not I've actually gotten a lot of respect from "pros" out on rides when they saw what I could do with just one speed. Probably my biggest pet peeve is- Don't talk shit about something that you don't know how to do.

  • @philgrinspoon and you're a poser because you go into these videos and think you know shit. Nothing illogical about riding fixie on the street. In fact you will see most bike messengers riding fixed or SS simply because it works better and causes less problems. Simple = good. To a fixie rider, a high top speed is not as important as simplicity, durability and the way you can control speed without using brakes. Brake shoes grinding against the rim, that's the sound of failure.

  • Ha watch you don't blow out those knees. Think how much faster you'd be goin if you weren't just another pathetic poser and had higher gears

  • @philgrinspoon He's just going very fast... And his gearing is actually quite high as you can see when he slows down. And how is he a pathetic poser?

  • jesus christ I can't beleive so many people are into this gay shit, it's just some hipster fag riding a mountain bike to a girl song

  • @Zanedamage It's not even a mountain bike, smartass. Hipsters don't wear helmets, also. Gtfo.

  • @Rayciie whatever ya dumb cunt that's what I see, some nut-hugger wearin fag on a big gay bike

  • Damn Chicago is so flat

  • Holy crap he's going fast as hell

  • how many mph was he going?

  • One of the best videos I've ever seen on here....

  • nice messenger bag ;O what is it??

  • ya i have to wear a helmet now since i got hit by a car

wat kind of bars are those and where can u get those

  • Really agile....Im no match.

  • One time I was driving down washington (near la salle) and this idiot fixed gear bike messenger cut me off like a motherfucke. So bad was his fucking maneuver that he even lost balance and almost killed himself. So I got out of my car and said "Is that how you ride, you tight pants emo piece of shit?!!" The guy chickened out. (fixie riders are pussies anyway)

  • @JustWaIkAway and then?

  • @JustWaIkAway

you shouldn't tar all fixed riders with the same brush.

  • those knog frogs are dopee

  • dood is cookin!!

  • fast legs!

  • Nice, ratio??

  • I wish there was some way to stick this info at the top of the comments.

Song - The CIty Lights by Umbrellas

Handlebars - Vision Tech aero base bars (no extensions)

Front Fork - Wolf (stock fork on Cervelo TT bikes)

    Bike - Specialized Langster

How fast he's going - probably pretty fast, homeboy is a hardcore triathlete.

  • oh yeah -

    Helmet - Giro Atmos

    can't forget your helmets, folks!

  • @snuuub dude are you sure your a fixy? a helmet?? ;)

what bike do you train with?

  • @snuuub

    Lights: Hipster-cyst knoggs

Brakes: you can't be zen with brakes

  • @asldfkjgl Who's got brakes again...???

  • @snuuub do you know the gear ratio?

  • nice helmet, what brand is it?

  • why do i bounce up and down when im going really fast on my fixie? and he doesn't? lol

  • lol, if it isn't that you are forcing everything you've got becuase you have a small gear ratio, then it probablly means your seat is too low and your feet are scrunched up

  • @danielgoneloco dont forget core strength... same with a regular bike... if you have a weak core, you wont be as stable

  • cus u need to work on your form

  • I love Chicago you can find me every where riding my bike

  • big deal. i ride this road every day. can he do this in 10 below freezing with a foot of snow? "summer squatter go home"

  • what type of frame and forks?

  • what handlebars are they? anyone???

  • @RiOtEmpire777 bull horn handle bars

  • cool, but they are a very unusual make, do you know what they might be? thnx :)

  • @RiOtEmpire777 they might be custom made so you might have to ask the guy that posted the video? but you cant make bars like that buy cutting curled bars into bull horn.

  • @RiOtEmpire777 They look like -> Syntace Stratos CX Bull Horn Carbon Handlebars. Google it and you'll find them

  • thank you very much :)

  • TT bars sans the aero position extensions

  • they look like vision tech base bars.

  • i like the faggoty, knee-high nut-huggers myself

  • Atleast you wore a helmet.

  • fixie fix me

  • DUDE! how fast are you going? and what gear ratio do you use?!!?!! thnx

  • looks like 25mph or 30mph or so... not thattt crazzy fast.

  • what kind of fork is that?

  • what kind of bars are those?

  • Awesome bike, good song, good riding :D

  • Great video!

  • awsome vid and cool tunes to match, your bike looks real similar to Jimmi / Jumbo Bargisen, of Denmark. super light picked it up withmy pinky finger.

  • ur going damn fast for that part of halsted. The road is so damn bumpy. Good stuff nonetheless

  • very very epic the simplicity of this video it shows your raw strength in a pure form great vid

  • they are vision tech base bars without the clip-on aero bar. now called vision and owned by FSA.

  • Looks like a handlebar on some triathlon bikes I've seen, except here the tri-bars are taken off.

  • what kind of bar is that?

  • bullhorns

  • i know they are bullhorns i have one on my bike but who makes that one...its flat on the front part and round on the sides...

  • oh i donno maybe they could be neetos

  • how many teeth on big chain ring!

  • What kind of bag is that?

  • dam how fast are u going ?

  • i thought high rpm was good for knees

  • are you riding clipless? they look like normal shoes, but you also look well connected at the high rpms.

  • prob clips

  • front frog setup is cool

  • RPM is too high, goodbye knees.

  • Does a high cadence contribute to bad knees? I thought for fixed gear riding, it was locking up your knees to skid stop.

  • yeah... It's not the constant cadence, it's to do with locking up, some people have had accidents, but thats to say that everyone has the same problems. Also I imagine some knee problems come from people either not clipped in or not using their toeclips&straps.

  • ... but thats *not* to say that everyone has teh same problems...

  • Nice video dude! Like how you got the frogs set up! Consider that idea STOLEN!

  • I've never had any luck with those Knog Frog lights, but he seemed to get them just right.

  • helmet =)

  • he is so thin , need to stop exercise and eat more. haha

  • You're all wrong about needing a bigger crank.

If he did get a bigger crank, he would only have to pedal FASTER at any given speed than with a smaller crank. I'm sorry if you don't understand.

To save you the humiliation, I'm going to assume you wanted to say he needs a bigger CHAIN RING, which would indeed allow him to spin slower.

  • nice aerobars

    this song blows though

  • this song is amazing i wish i knew what it was

  • The song is called The City Lights by the band "Umbrellas"

  • The city lights by the band Umbrellas

  • That's pretty awesome, and a cool music track too.

  • Who cares if he has a bigger crank, This video was an inspiration.

  • lol, bigger cranks?

his leg is extending the perfect amount.

he's just going faster than you normally would.

if anything, assume someone needs a cog with less teeth before you assume they need a different crank.

on a side note, I hate riding fixed on halsted. that area around cabrini green, it is stressful as all hell. su

  • what kind of wheels do you recommend for constant skid stopping?

  • soma everwear

  • for CONSTANT stopping you don't need wheels, just stay right where you are.

    foolish question

  • @macaframasac ha ha ha ha

  • Yeah bigger crank, then he won't have to peddle so fast,

  • Actually, with a bigger crank, you would have to pedal faster....

  • what are you a brit, "rubbish" who say's that?

  • racist mofo

  • why am i racist? i never said anything about race.

  • This song is [The City Lights] Umbrellas

  • he needs a bigger crank

  • Considering you can't actually see his crank anywhere in the video, it might be a safe assumption, considering he's a sponsored triathalete and all, that he's actually just going really, really fast.

  • With endurance like his....he doesn't need a bigger crank.

  • This statement is rubbish on multiple levels. Bigger crank? really?

  • Finally. A fixie rider wearing a helmet.

  • I agree I ride fixed but its a fixed gear fixie is lame

  • music?

  • the fact that he cant coast would suck. lol

  • Vision tech handlebars

  • this is so simple, yet epic at the same time. love it.

  • i want to know what kind of handle bars they are too

  • Yeah they are Zipp Vuka I think...

  • Dude what are those handle bars? Vuka Bull?

  • Nice Vid! Whats the song?

  • i dont get it do fixed gear bikes go faster or how is it

  • dude, you're haulin' ass !

    nice bike.

  • i want your handle bars. FSA?

  • geeze, how fast is he going?

  • What kinda of bag is that? doesnt look like a messenger bag seeing how low it is

  • Lookup "Smashed Up Sundays" for a sick LA fixed bike vid

  • gear ratio??????

  • ummm I think i just feel in love with your bike. . .

  • this video and song go well together.

  • look up " murder of couriers trailer HD"

  • Sick Video, the HD makes it, bikes are the best

  • great ride...im assuming your on clipless roads?

  • haha cabrini green

  • Hey Chris, we should ride next time I'm in Chicago.

  • what handle bars are those??

  • The song makes it very "my girlfriend just broke up with me because I spend more time on my bike than with her and now I'm sad". But I do love this video.

  • is that sped up how fast r u going?

  • Fast cadence, man.

  • lmfao. today i tried going hella fast. my chain popped off and im brakeless. i was scared. haha but i stopped safely

  • The name of the song is City Lights by Umbrellas.

  • I just wanted to share. I saw this video a year ago and it seriously sealed the deal in me getting into road biking.

  • hahah +1 a year ago! But I made the transition from road riding to fixed road riding.

  • aw dude sweet aerobars

  • how far do you cycle each day..

  • great tune

  • Comment removed

  • DANG LOOK AT THOSE LEGS MOVE lol

  • where did u get ur bike

i lke the lights a lot

    5*peace

  • love this - props for wearing a helmet ;)

  • i agree

  • does anyone know the name of this song? thanks... i tried using shazam but it wasnt recognised :(

  • Umbrellas-City lights.

  • Awsome clip

  • if they enjoy it let them do it. at first bmx wasnt for tricks too... beside that you can do fun tricks with a fixie AND ride fast which you can not do with a bmx.

  • anyway there are more tricks you can do wih a bmx than a fixed. plus you can go bigger/harder because you do have to worry about cracking your 1000$ frame or blasting your vittorias.

track bikes are for speed. it will be boring to watch a video of guy trying to speed on bmx as it's boring to watch kid "jump" 3 stairs on trackbike.

  • you smell like hangover poo. and your curtains are made of powder corn.

  • how much do fixie bikes weigh? Anyone weighed theirs?

  • they way around 15-30 pounds depending on the parts and frame

  • 16 pounds O YA!!!

  • i've watched this video more than once and everytime i just feel like you were part of the bike, so nice! love the video

  • i heart your bike and this vid man, i always watch it and get pumped to ride. Keep mashing hard and riding fast man!!!!!

    ALL YOU NEED IS ONE.

  • what kind of frame do you roll on man?!

  • that's a specialized langster

  • hey brother this a awesome video i was wonder what kind of bag is that i use a chrome but your looks alot more aero

  • Comment removed

  • is that a swobo sanchez in 50 cm? how tall are you?

  • ie fixed!

  • going soooooo fast...

atleast he is wearing a helmet

  • I've been seeing these bikes popping up all over Los Angeles. I would get a fixie, but not without brakes. Too dangerous...

  • fixies do have brakes, u just need to back pedal to stop the wheel

  • I do know about that, but that still wouldn't stop you if you're going down a steep hill. Wouldn't a person fly foward or lose control if the only way to stop was to pedal backward?

  • you cant stop really quick like with a brake.

and you dont pedal backwards, you lock your legs up and you skid the back wheel, it causes you to slow down. fixed gear bicycles aren't meant for stopping, if you ever see a bicycle messenger or a really good fixed gear cyclist riding anywhere, you will notice that he is very fluid. He/she is always moving because the lack of brakes forces the rider to look at everything and anticipate traffic patterns.

  • Will this music

  • Nice wing bar. I have one on my Tri bike. Cool video.

  • great video!
