This is such a bequtiful number. I agree its all about expressing the feeling. This instrumental does it for me. It has all of those elements that you would expect to find in such a beautiful constructed piece. ABSOULTELY BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!

I used to grab a radio and go outside at night and lay down on a picnic table and play this. It's one of VM's best songs, IMO.

I love the harmony lines; sounds like you're soaring over the clouds. I've always loved the outro solo when he does the fast Al Dimeola alternate picked lines ascending up one string around the 5:34 mark.

This version is from 1988,when shred guitar was all over the map,besides his tone is pretty dry on this album,it's not soaked in reverb which is the effect that was popular in the 80's( which i love)and the effect your are probaly refering to, beside's Vinnie Moore's a great player, i'd be a little reluctant to refer to him as solely a shred whore.
