  • He was that big when I got him & this vid was taken about 3 months after purchase. He has filled out a lot and grown a little longer in the past yr. A trusted site says it takes 2 yrs for an F8 to grow fully. Also F8s are wild caught and since mine was an adult then, he will probably be bigger than a tank raised juvenile as tank raised fish tend to not grow as big. Just keep up on ur 50% water changes, keep the KH up and SG around 1.004 and they will grow up well. ThePufferForum has great info.

  • How long did it take for your puffer to reach that size, I have 2 juveniles at the moment

  • Is a 50% water change necessary? I only do about a 20% every week. But whatever makes the tank look good and it seems like its working. I just saw purple spotted gobies at the LFS. Do you have any experience with them? I bought knight gobies before but the figure 8s would nip at them.

  • @j229929 50% is necessary for puffer fish....they are scaleless, and very messy eaters. so 50% a week is a good start

  • They've been moved from the 29g to a 46g and I've added 3 more BBGs for a total of 11, and 5 celebes rainbowfish. The F8 is still in there too and is very well behaved. My BBGs hide sometimes but are mostly out cruising the whole tank. I keep the SG around .005 and water change about 45-50% with aged/mixed water about every week to week and a half.

  • cool setup..are they in brackish water? how often do you change their water? my bumblebee gobies never go up that high i guess cause of 3 f8 and 3 archers
