my friend larrissa has the same problem you do, she qwivers, just try not to move the bottom of your lip, but otherwize it was good, im playing that song for the solo onsomble coming up in band class!

i think your really good, however on some of the high notes its like you lack confidence in it and the pitch bends slightly before you reach the acxtual desired note, but otherwise it's good

It sounds like you're slurring the notes. And when you're not slurring, it sounds too staccato.

You have a really nice sound when you get into the note but the beginning of each note is a little unclean. Try pushing your lower lip a little more forward to crispen them. That should stop the lower tones coming through too :-)

You play beautifully, and I really love this song. But as a flute player of nearly eight years, I have a little bit of advice. You sound like you're nervous, and it's creeping into your support. There's nothing to be worry about, just work on your confidence when playing, and you'll sound even better! Also, be careful of phrasing...Getting that part a little off can make the best flutists sound like their performance is faltering.

I had braces the second year I played flute. It's not any harder to play with them once you get used to it. You shouldn't let that stop you. :)

Overall, not too bad. You went out of tune as you moved through the piece, but not too much. You do the same thing that I used to do, and that a lot of beginning flute players do: you're anticipating the high notes too much, so you're overblowing them to make up for lack of diaphragm support. Your embouchure also needs a little cleaning up. A worthy effort; keep working at it!

Just wondering... how much did the flute cost? I can only afford a recorder, and it's annoying because the highest note it can do is A2, and that's really pushing it (the leaflet suggested only going up to F2). :(

aww thankyou. um the flute costed like £300, which was cheap as i purchased it through my school. Ummm, if I were you I'd look around for a second hand flute, My first flute was second hand, and I got it for £100.

Flute is a much different instrument to play than a recorder so I wouldn't reccomend buying a full price one in case you don't feel it's right for you. x good luck with the flute search :) x
