Hey what do you think of floyd roses? Seeing as you play a lot of fender tremolos and sg hard tails how do they compare. Personally I don't like the one i have due to the amount of work to get it working and no quick and easy tuning changes. I only own hard tails and one floyd rose, and have only played fender tremolos in guitar shops, any thoughts on which you prefer?

Check the pivot points of the bridge for wear, this might be keeping it from returning to the proper position. There is also a device called a Tremsetter which would help this problem.

I love the tone from that roadstar. I'm really digging that brown sound, I just dont know how to go about it pickup wise. I know EVH's orignal franken strat bridge pickup was pulled from an old gibby 355 so is essentially a PAF. Theres loads of manufacturers makeing what they claim to be PAFs, but they all seem to be using different magnets i.e. one will be using an alcino 2 while others will be using an alcino 5. I have no idea what to look for in order to get that tone. Any recomendations?

I'm pretty sure the pickups in this Roadstar have ceramic magnets which is much different than alnico magnets. I think an alnico 5 magnet would be a bit closer to the EVH sound than an alnico 2. Alnico 2 magnets have a slightly softer edge to them. Keep in mind that the pickup is a very small part of the entire tone chain. I think the amp has a much bigger impact on the overall sound, than the pickup does.

I heard Craigs ( Guitarwannabes ) version and Riff Guys is better. You notice the intensity of riff guys playing ( He's got conviction in his playing and he knows Eddies little fill in tricks and when to implement them )

Also those are Marshalls, the same amps like Ed played thru. I'm not sure what GW plays thru but I heard his setup and I think this guys tone is dead on.
