I'm not too sure about macs but apparently the leading brand is istopmotion built by apple. I have no idea about the lip sync feature or any other feature but all I know it that if I had a mac I would get that.

Well done on making the mouths! Have you got a program like stopmotion pro so you can match the sounds exactly? If you are using something like windows movie maker then you can still match the sounds with the voice slightly as you did. The way I did it was I got all of the syllables and put them into windows movie maker and then lengthened each one so they fitted exactly. Stopmotion pro is the best for that I find.

i acture had trouble with istopmotion you if you get a mac you should get framebyframe it's free and easy

Oh another suggestion, how about when he has the neutral mouth (no sound needed) use a closed mouth instead of just blank space.
