I think Lucas believes every word when he says he regrets starting a relationship with Edwin, because he let himself become emotionally vulnerable; Lucas definitely loved Edwin more as he had already experienced the one-night stands. Edwin only had been with Lucas meaning it was harder for him to see the difference between Love and Like (Lucas and Ron)

I started watching this show on the advice of a friend..and I'm glad he told me about it. I have yet to comment but now that I've caught up, I have a few things to say:
1. A great big thanks to Mark for everything he does! That cannot be understated! *clap clap*
2. I've watched the clips starting with just Lucas and his introduction. If you haven't, I suggest you do, since it helps put things in a better perspective. It only SEEMS like slow torture! ;-)
The old axiom is true. All is fair in love and war. I like the soap story of RON and ED as a couple. How long will it last? Let it go over the edge with Dr. Ron getting killed by someone (no trains please) Ed and Lucas prime suspects.
Ugh, I just hate Wiet for all of this. If not for her, Lucas would never have gone into a coma, Edwin wouldn't have needed Ron for support, and the whole mess would have been avoided. It makes me sad :'(
On another note, with all the turbulence and drama in this relationship lately, I wouldn't even be surprised if two months down the road, Lucas ends up with Ron or something. Nothing would be too surprising with the way things are going!
I agree Lucas is anmature, but he is only 20 and Edwin I think is 18. How much maturity can you expect t that age. I still like them together and hope the writers will reunite them. It seemed to me that Edwin 's reaction to his mother admission that she and Noud arranged the meeting was intense in that he still cares what Lucas thinks of him.
@pal19872008 I hardly think a 6-8 month relationship is that long.. Maybe for a 19 year old it is..LOL How many 19 year olds are with their boyfriend/first sexual experience even that long? And when said boyfriend is in coma 2 months, where Doctors and even his Mother say there's virtually no hope, I think it's more than understandable that Edwin would start to move on. Frankly, I wouldn't even call it cheating. I'd call it being human.
@robertn800 He was in a COMA! No matter their age or the time they were together it was cheating he made a commitment to Lucas and did not live up to it. It would be hard to stay strong not NOT move on but until Lucas were to actually die he had no right to do so.
I know Lucas is very mad but he really should let Edwin finish his sentences instead of just overreacting and assuming things. Poor Ron. I like him a lot. :(

And Ron is a nice guy, but it was really stupid to start something with an inmature teenager who was in love with another guy. When you do something like that, there's a high probability that your relationship won't work
Ron was NOT the one making moves on Edwin.Go back and watch,you'll see all Ron did was be empathetic,talk to Edwin and try to help Edwin have time with Lucas and hope.He tried to move out several times.After Edwin told Ron his feelings Ron tried to leave and told Edwin that once he left,Edwin would lose feelings for Ron. Edwin stopped him,and went to him for the kiss.Previously Ron lied and told Edwin he wasn't attracted to him.After 2 months,he gave in.
@robertn800 cheating in a r/s is still wrong, both parties involved in the cheating are wrong. i still havent watch this season of the show as i see such a sadddddddddddddddddddd development of the r/s between Edwin and Lucas...they hv been together for quite long...if feelings die off likedat, in future if Edwin and Ron becomes a couple, Edwin's feelings for Ron will die off also.
Please let Ron stay with Edwin... =D nothing against Lucas but I like Ron character much much more... Great acting of Ferry! The spoiled bratt character really gets on my nervs...
@luckyduck152 Given the level of emotion Ron has for Lucas, I can't honestly see him being the kind of guy who would accept money from Anton. I can and have felt though that Anton is encouraging and manipulating the situation with Ron. Edwin seems likely to have been deceiving Ron about his true feelings. I suspect when this happens his internship will conclude and he will just be so hurt he leaves. I just don't read Anton having bribed him!
@AJDavid90 Ron is more mature than Lucas, Edwin, and Anton...and probably half the characters on the show! (Which is probably because he's temporary, LOL).
:( This situation is making me sad. I don't like Ron and Edwin together. @luckyduck152 OMG. That would be an amazing twist. I hope that happens, so Edwin can see how dumb he has been toward Lucas. Lucas needs someone who treats him better.
My suspicion is that Anton is bribing Ron to get involved with Edwin for the sole purpose of ruining the relationship between Edwin and Lucas. Ron will get a good review for his internship and move on and Ludwin will be split up. I don't think Anton has changed as much as we think he has.
After all that Lucas went through to fight for his love for Edwin (making Edwin comfortable with his sexuality, getting beat up by Ed's father), Edwin chooses Ron over Lucas. Ron gets to enjoy Edwin without all the hardship that Lucas went through. It's like Lucas planted and nourished the seed, only for someone to harvest the fruit (lol so metaphorical, but you get what I mean)
Lucas was right when he said "Come to think of it, he never really chose me." ugghh so heartbreaking.

As an American, I'm confused. How can an intern be with a high school boy and how can that high school boy drink and have sex in his parents home? Must be a cultural thing. Still, I have to say the acting is great, the writing has a few holes so far, but overall I'm actually enjoying this angst. At the moment I'm voting for Edwin/Ron and Lucas/Noud (or somebody new). Thumbs up from me!
@kasmi305 Dutch education system is different. After what we call high school they have a choice of university, trade school or apprenticship based on test scores. Edwin started the story arc at 18, Lucas was mid - twenties. Now Edwin is around twenty, Ron around 29-30, Lucas 26-27. Also, with the high housing market, Kids stay at home longer. My partner stayed with his parents for almost 8 years waiting for a rent controlled place to open up.
@sealforvr You were right about Edwin, but Lucas celebrated his 20th birthday last year on December 16. Time and ages on soaps are not always realistic, but he should turn 21 next week. And Ron is 25 years old according to his character bio on GTST.nl.
@GTSTfanMark Ok, thanks for clarifying that for me. Right now I'm impressed with Kevin Hassing's acting. Very nuanced, with the multiple emotions going through his face as Lucas rants was impressive. He went from shocked to embarrassed to pissed without saying a word.

This is great! I'm not desperate for Lucas and Edwn to resume their relationship. They should continue with the Edwin/Ron pairing as long as they can. Just make it interesting. The writing for this soap, at the moment, is pretty good. Compared to that other soap with a gay pairing that's still with us that takes place in Germany, the writing isclearly superior.
I hope the writers don't lose their momentum for creating captivating storylines
Lucas and Edwin arguing and hurtful words just shows how much they still love each other and miss each other.Ron looks so awkward standing there while ludwin are bickering.I want to give Lucas a hug I want him to be happy.I love seeing Noud and Lucas having scenes i miss seeing them.Last season they didn't have enough scenes.
No offence to the Lucas/Edwin fans (I used to be one of them) but I genuinely feel that its going to take a miracle from the writers to make me believe in it again. I agree that they still have feelings for each other. But not such that they cannot overcome it. So lets see what the writers do but personally, I'm done with that pairing. its common that first relationships break down.
Ludwin is the best couple I have ever seen on TV and the writing is great. I really hope they git back together, although I know it may take a long time this being a soap and all. As far as Ron and Ed go I think you could get more sparks from ru

Edwin comes across as an asshole. Who breaks up with their supposed "first love" for some guy that they've had a crush on for a week or two, then parades around a couple of days later happily announcing that they have a new boyfriend? And poor Ron must really love Edwin to be so blind to the fact that his new relationship is almost certainly doomed to fail.
When Edwin and Lucas had that talk.. I was just wishing Lucas would pour his heart out to him. But no, he didn't. I would do it like this.
Lucas:
"Edwin, I loved you! You were my world and now you're with someone else? Every time I see you you're with him and it breaks my heart to know you aren't with me. You meant everything.. I don't know what went wrong with us and it kills me to know we can't fix it. I want to be with you Edwin. I do. But now I see you've replaced me and I can't accept it."
I support Edwin with his decisions.Even though Lucas-Edwin is kind of "physics and chemistry",colourful and multi-dementional,still I kind of like Edwin-Ron´s"you say the best when you say nothing at all"-thing.It´s kind of romantic and sweet.The way Ron looks at Edwin and the way Edwin smiles with happiness_ it is just powerful.All in all I love this storyline,because it shows that people are different_even gay people.Ron is mature and balanced,Edwin sensitive and romantic,Lucas vivid and funny
Three guys, one word: DENIAL! Coming from a place of pure spite, I kinda hope Lucas finds a new guy to make Edwin jealous and swallow a taste of his own medicine.
Lucas wants to be out of touch with his sadness. Same with Edwin. Ron is out of touch with his being used by Edwin. Nina is out of touch with the planet. At least Noud still has his feet on the ground.
"m not sorry for Ron. When he met Edwin he knew Edwin was in a relationship and due Lucas coma he knew Edwin was vulnerable. He may not have intentionally started out to fall for Edwin but he did so when the opportunity presented itself to get closer he took it. He took a gamble and he'll pay the price whether bad or good.
He went in eyes wide open and continues to hope that things would work.. If it doesn't he'll only have himself to blame for his pain, not Edwin or Lucas...just himself
Watching noud and lucas reminds me of the episides before edwin came along....its a great friendship,i don think its a good idea for them to be more than that,being friends works for them and besides noud and nina are great together....

Is Nina pregnant? Is that why she's making sure that they give the champagne away? I am actually pleased with the storyline of Ludwin so far - you can only have so much of fluffy stuff before you need to have an off-button for a while (at least on telly, anyway). I think IF Ludwin will get back together after this, then they will have a stronger relationship because they know what they want now. (They want each other, but are too stubborn to admit it. XD)

@chillbree I don't Lucas is being childish. I would be really pissed if I broke up with my my boyfriend (who I love & who I thought loved me), starts seeing someone else and calling him his boyfriend in a matter of days. I definitely would not want to see them together or speak to my ex. Lucas is acting like anyone would in this situation: hurt and angry. If anything he is being restrained because I would beat the tar out of both of them! Doesn't matter cuz I believe Ron is gonna get the boot!
@chillbree I also find him annoying, but in their relationship it has been Lucas who has changed the most and put more effort into it. Edwin was in the receiving end all the time. If you can imagine, Lucas was worst before Edwin.
@Vacartu it may seem like that but he always take a turn and end up being the old him. like, what did he do after the break up... go have a drink and try to make out with someone new. of course he's in love with edwin but if you trully love someone you won't just react out of anger and so brashly. burning old card and memories not cool at all XD

Poor Lucas. I feel bad for his situation. Edwin needs to snap out of it and get rid of Ron. Edwin belongs with Lucas. I hope Noud and Bianca can help them figure it out.
All I can say is POOR LUCAS! Poor Lucas! I am glad he has Noud as his best friend. With Noud, Lucas can overcome this lost. He did in the past when Marco was his psycho boyfriend. I so like Noud right now. Hang in there! Lucas. There are other cute guys out there to mean what they said.

Everything thats happening now is a direct result of Ed having handled things wrong in the 1st place. Regardless of the truth behind any meetings/sightings of Ed/Ron 2gether, Lucas broke up with Ed cuz he had to, and now has to witness the liar suffer little emotional justice. It's not fair Lucas has to be only one to be left with only hurt. He's entitled to his anger and misunderstandings.
Ed needed to be alone and process, instead he got with Ron out of mostly spite cuz Lucas yelled at him.

I must say that I adore the relationship and friendship between Lucas and Noud. I felt so bad for Noud when the whole thing was blowing up. I think he knew better than to try and meddle like that.
Never kept up or watched a soap before , this is interesting. One has to remember that it is a soap not real life . At present a friend is going through a break up after 2 1/2 years and as just as messy . Broke up with mine a year ago and still looking . Looking at Ron now this guy is ready to bolt and run . Edwin is a messed up puppy dog . Lucas a screaming queen . So close to real it scares me
I feel bad mostly about Ron in all this. I mean hearing Edwin talk all the time Lucas was in a coma, must have painted a pretty idealistic and romantic image of Edwin for him. He starts feeling something. And then bam! He gets caught up right in the middle of those 2, without actually doing anything lol (Kissing Edwin, while Lucas was in a coma with little to no chance of recovery for months, is nothing wrong. Just a relationship evolving to the next step for 2 people who shared an experience).

@espylce Exactly. What is Lucas supposed to think? He sees the guy who claimed to love him and want to be with him forever, being happy and being a couple with someone else days after they broke up? Of course Lucas is going to feel replaced, like his love isn't needed over anyone elses, and that his relationship with Ed must have been the biggest lie of all and meant little if Ed can carry on so well and so fast. True love that falls apart should leave both sides destroyed, not just 1.
I hate it when they don't have a clear bad guy. Most people think Edwin's an ass but i just think circumstances conspired against him. His bf was in a coma and the nice intern was there so feelings developed. Ron was probably not intending on liking Edwin this much and probably assumed Lucas wouldn't wake up. Now that Lucas did its not like he can just turn those feelings off especially since he thinks Edwin chose him. Lucas' only fault is that he lets his anger speak for him too often.

The biggest problem with this triangle is that the writers haven't given us any insight into Ron. Why is he interested in a teenager a decade younger? At this point, he serves the story like a cute coat hanger. I've never felt sorry for Lucas before - too much of a drama queen - but I do feel bad for him. He slipped into a coma and his life was ripped away from him.
@Boslthrman Yes, strangely Ron is the sanest of the 3 & the least understandable. He must sense he's being used. I think a reason the writers don't give us more insight into Ron's character, view & feelings is that his actions for the sake of the plot have become inconsistent with who he really is. Another reason is that the story is still more about Lucas & Edwin. The show has a longer commitment to Ferry & Raynor than to Keving. Too bad cuz I like all 3 actors & all 3 characters.
He started falling for someone else while Lucas was in a coma, wouldn't stop lying about it after he woke up, and so what was Lucas supposed to do - be able to trust in their relationship when Ed couldn't even put him first and be honest? He's got to question if Ed even loves him over that.
So Lucas did the right thing and dumped him, but is miserable despite it because he truly loves him, while Ed is the one with options and now gets to distract himself and be happy with Ron.
Ron is sweet. I liked him from the beginning. But Edwin is settling with him. He still loves Lucas. Every time Lucas says something to push him away, Edwin is affected by it.
And Lucas...after Edwin walked out, and he threw the nails on the floor...his heart is still breaking.
They both seem so sad at this "final" break-up...resigned to it and accepting it, but sad nonetheless. Even Edwin's reunion with Ron was tinged with a bit of sadness.
Hmm... I sense conflict with Nina/Noud. This would be a lovely time for the writers to go all McDean on us and have the "straight" guy fall in love with his best mate. I've always thought that the original Lucas/Noud storyline would have been so much better if it hadn't just been Lucas pining. If my dreams miraculously come true and they go that route, Ron and Edwin can have each other.
@TiPiPiRiT I was merely making light of the situation. As hot as Loud would be, trying to mimic the McDean storyline would cause an abundance of angst on an already angsty plot. Not sure in reality I could take it all. I mean, John Paul and Craig drove me mad with their level of angst. Lucas and Noud would surely do the same.

Noud will most likely help him understand the suffering that Edwin went through day in day out. It's why I can't hate on any characters....they're all doing their respective 'job' if you get what I mean ^__^
I want Lucas to have a new guy. But i want him to be like how Lucas use to be, a "player" that then falls in love with Lucas and though Lucas hooks up with him again and again he refuses to make it a serious thing because hes afraid of getting hurt.

I started watching this show on the advice of a friend..and I'm glad he told me about it. I have yet to comment but now that I've caught up, I have a few things to say:
1. A great big thanks to Mark for everything he does! That cannot be understated! *clap clap*
2. I've watched the clips starting with just Lucas and his introduction. If you haven't, I suggest you do, since it helps put things in a better perspective. It only SEEMS like slow torture! ;-)
3. I feel bad for all three characters

Ugh, I just hate Wiet for all of this. If not for her, Lucas would never have gone into a coma, Edwin wouldn't have needed Ron for support, and the whole mess would have been avoided. It makes me sad :'(
On another note, with all the turbulence and drama in this relationship lately, I wouldn't even be surprised if two months down the road, Lucas ends up with Ron or something. Nothing would be too surprising with the way things are going!

I agree Lucas is anmature, but he is only 20 and Edwin I think is 18. How much maturity can you expect t that age. I still like them together and hope the writers will reunite them. It seemed to me that Edwin 's reaction to his mother admission that she and Noud arranged the meeting was intense in that he still cares what Lucas thinks of him.

And when said boyfriend is in coma 2 months, where Doctors and even his Mother say there's virtually no hope, I think it's more than understandable that Edwin would start to move on. Frankly, I wouldn't even call it cheating. I'd call it being human.

@luckyduck152 Given the level of emotion Ron has for Lucas, I can't honestly see him being the kind of guy who would accept money from Anton. I can and have felt though that Anton is encouraging and manipulating the situation with Ron. Edwin seems likely to have been deceiving Ron about his true feelings. I suspect when this happens his internship will conclude and he will just be so hurt he leaves. I just don't read Anton having bribed him!

My suspicion is that Anton is bribing Ron to get involved with Edwin for the sole purpose of ruining the relationship between Edwin and Lucas. Ron will get a good review for his internship and move on and Ludwin will be split up. I don't think Anton has changed as much as we think he has.

After all that Lucas went through to fight for his love for Edwin (making Edwin comfortable with his sexuality, getting beat up by Ed's father), Edwin chooses Ron over Lucas. Ron gets to enjoy Edwin without all the hardship that Lucas went through. It's like Lucas planted and nourished the seed, only for someone to harvest the fruit (lol so metaphorical, but you get what I mean)

As an American, I'm confused. How can an intern be with a high school boy and how can that high school boy drink and have sex in his parents home? Must be a cultural thing. Still, I have to say the acting is great, the writing has a few holes so far, but overall I'm actually enjoying this angst. At the moment I'm voting for Edwin/Ron and Lucas/Noud (or somebody new). @kasmi305 Dutch education system is different. After what we call high school they have a choice of university, trade school or apprenticship based on test scores. Edwin started the story arc at 18, Lucas was mid - twenties. Now Edwin is around twenty, Ron around 29-30, Lucas 26-27. Also, with the high housing market, Kids stay at home longer. My partner stayed with his parents for almost 8 years waiting for a rent controlled place to open up.

This is great! I'm not desperate for Lucas and Edwn to resume their relationship. They should continue with the Edwin/Ron pairing as long as they can. Just make it interesting. The writing for this soap, at the moment, is pretty good. Compared to that other soap with a gay pairing that's still with us that takes place in Germany, the writing isclearly superior.
I hope the writers don't lose their momentum for creating captivating storylines

I agree that they still have feelings for each other. But not such that they cannot overcome it. He may not have intentionally started out to fall for Edwin but he did so when the opportunity presented itself to get closer he took it. He took a gamble and he'll pay the price whether bad or good.
He went in eyes wide open and continues to hope that things would work.. If it doesn't he'll only have himself to blame for his pain, not Edwin or Lucas...just himself

I am actually pleased with the storyline of Ludwin so far - you can only have so much of fluffy stuff before you need to have an off-button for a while (at least on telly, anyway). I think IF Ludwin will get back together after this, then they will have a stronger relationship because they know what they want now. (They want each other, but are too stubborn to admit it. XD)

I would be really pissed if I broke up with my my boyfriend (who I love & who I thought loved me), starts seeing someone else and calling him his boyfriend in a matter of days. I definitely would not want to see them together or speak to my ex. Lucas is acting like anyone would in this situation: hurt and angry. If anything he is being restrained because I would beat the tar out of both of them! Doesn't matter cuz I believe Ron is gonna get the boot!

Everything thats happening now is a direct result of Ed having handled things wrong in the 1st place. Regardless of the truth behind any meetings/sightings of Ed/Ron 2gether, Lucas broke up with Ed cuz he had to, and now has to witness the liar suffer little emotional justice. It's not fair Lucas has to be only one to be left with only hurt. He's entitled to his anger and misunderstandings.
Ed needed to be alone and process, instead he got with Ron out of mostly spite cuz Lucas yelled at him.

Never kept up or watched a soap before , this is interesting. One has to remember that it is a soap not real life . At present a friend is going through a break up after 2 1/2 years and as just as messy . Broke up with mine a year ago and still looking . Looking at Ron now this guy is ready to bolt and run . Edwin is a messed up puppy dog . Lucas a screaming queen . So close to real it scares me

I feel bad mostly about Ron in all this. I mean hearing Edwin talk all the time Lucas was in a coma, must have painted a pretty idealistic and romantic image of Edwin for him. He starts feeling something. And then bam! He gets caught up right in the middle of those 2, without actually doing anything lol (Kissing Edwin, while Lucas was in a coma with little to no chance of recovery for months, is nothing wrong. Just a relationship evolving to the next step for 2 people who shared an experience).

@espylce Exactly. What is Lucas supposed to think? He sees the guy who claimed to love him and want to be with him forever, being happy and being a couple with someone else days after they broke up? Of course Lucas is going to feel replaced, like his love isn't needed over anyone elses, and that his relationship with Ed must have been the biggest lie of all and meant little if Ed can carry on so well and so fast. True love that falls apart should leave both sides destroyed, not just 1.

I hate it when they don't have a clear bad guy. Most people think Edwin's an ass but i just think circumstances conspired against him. His bf was in a coma and the nice intern was there so feelings developed. Ron was probably not intending on liking Edwin this much and probably assumed Lucas wouldn't wake up. Now that Lucas did its not like he can just turn those feelings off especially since he thinks Edwin chose him. Lucas' only fault is that he lets his anger speak for him too often.

Edwin runs and hides with someone else whenever he can't handle a situation with Lucas. He
made Wiet his beard because he tried to deny being gay and loving Lucas. Now he's hiding out with Ron because he isn't mature enough to deal with his problems on his own. IMO Ron
is a safety net. Yes he has feelings for him but I don't think they're strong enough to make him forget Lucas and truly move on. But Lucas may not bounce back so quickly this tme. Edwin may really regret what he's done.

The biggest problem with this triangle is that the writers haven't given us any insight into Ron. Why is he interested in a teenager a decade younger? At this point, he serves the story like a cute coat hanger. I've never felt sorry for Lucas before - too much of a drama queen - but I do feel bad for him. He slipped into a coma and his life was ripped away from him.

@Boslthrman Yes, strangely Ron is the sanest of the 3 & the least understandable. He must sense he's being used. I think a reason the writers don't give us more insight into Ron's character, view & feelings is that his actions for the sake of the plot have become inconsistent with who he really is. Another reason is that the story is still more about Lucas & Edwin. The show has a longer commitment to Ferry & Raynor than to Keving. Too bad cuz I like all 3 actors & all 3 characters.

He started falling for someone else while Lucas was in a coma, wouldn't stop lying about it after he woke up, and so what was Lucas supposed to do - be able to trust in their relationship when Ed couldn't even put him first and be honest? He's got to question if Ed even loves him over that.
So Lucas did the right thing and dumped him, but is miserable despite it because he truly loves him, while Ed is the one with options and now gets to distract himself and be happy with Ron.

Ron is sweet. I liked him from the beginning. But Edwin is settling with him. He still loves Lucas. Every time Lucas says something to push him away, Edwin is affected by it.
And Lucas...after Edwin walked out, and he threw the nails on the floor...his heart is still breaking.
They both seem so sad at this "final" break-up...resigned to it and accepting it, but sad nonetheless. Even Edwin's reunion with Ron was tinged with a bit of sadness.

Hmm... I sense conflict with Nina/Noud. This would be a lovely time for the writers to go all McDean on us and have the "straight" guy fall in love with his best mate. I've always thought that the original Lucas/Noud storyline would have been so much better if it hadn't just been Lucas pining. If my dreams miraculously come true and they go that route, Ron and Edwin can have each other.

@TiPiPiRiT I was merely making light of the situation. As hot as Loud would be, trying to mimic the McDean storyline would cause an abundance of angst on an already angsty plot. Not sure in reality I could take it all. I mean, John Paul and Craig drove me mad with their level of angst. Lucas and Noud would surely do the same.

Ron is so blunt... I almost feel sorry for him! Edwin and Lucas is going to end up back together, I just know it! One thing never changes in GTST. Edwin is always hopelessly out of tact with his feelings, and has bad judgement, Lucas always a mega dramaqueen, and Bianca is always always right!

As you say, Ron will most likely help Edwin in the feelings department, I feel like that is what Noud will do with Lucas. Noud will most likely help him understand the suffering that Edwin went through day in day out. It's why I can't hate on any characters....they're all doing their respective 'job' if you get what I mean ^__^

I love how this story is developing, it's getting very entertaining !!
I find the 3 characters very attractive in their own way.
I LOVE Lucas !! even when he's completely heartbroken he finds a way to make me laugh,
his: " It wouldn't surprise me if he gets a tattoo of Ron's name on his empty arm" just cracked me up!!
