I think the The Only Exception talks about how Hayley is not over Josh, and that nothing is the same without him.He is the only exception.Josh (as we speak) is being replaced on tour as he goes to a wedding.If I am not mistaken, it's his wedding.That explains the wedding scene in the music video.Hayley imagines herself at the wedding,and how she couldn't handle the thought.
