  • did they HAVE to include their own ignorant political propaganda by saying there wasn't democracy? it's social democracy, not liberal democracy

  • The BBC kept using the phrase "revolutionary leader". But Castro was a tin pot dictator - nothing more.

He was big on "revolution" and "change"....until he got his hands on power. After that, the revolution stopped. Cuba has been distinctly un-revolutionary since then.

The BBC just like to idolise him, not because they necessarily like Cuba so much (they're not stupid, I'll grant them that), but because they like to use this example of a failed state to attack their chosen enemy: the USA.

  • @richard20bris the reason the revolution stopped is because it had succeded and the reason the change stopped is because he changed every thing almost instantly

  • @hellom12345

Isn't it interesting how much time the Left spend harping on about every single American President and what's wrong with them, while at the same time treating with awe and reverence a communist dictator who hogged and abused his power for half a century.

If the fall of communism wasn't embarrassing enough for Castro, the hordes of his own people jumping on boats to escape his socialist "paradise" should have been.

  • @richard20bris > Even worse if U see what Russia is doing regarding Vladimir Putin... Why sell Communism when your leader is an Oligarch...

  • @richard20bris he hogged his power did he? well that does not matter seeing as 90% of his people wanted him to stay in office now when was the last time any other world leader had that much support? better yet what other world leader has had that much support after nearly 50 years in office? now seeing as that was an independant survey after fidel RETIRED (yes thats right he retired because he knew due to his ill health he could not serve his country anymore) he must have done somthing right!

  • @hellom12345 oh they WANTED him to stay in office, did they? I wonder what other choice they had, given that he controlled the military and arrested/executed any opponents. Who is the leader of gthe opposition party in Cuba again, please remind me?

What would you have said if George Bush made used the army to round up and imprison members of the Democratic Party in the US? Then refused to leave the office of President for half a century?

  • @richard20bris they were not asked who they wanted to be president but if they wanted fidel to stay in office after he had retired. also i would have been against bush regardless of if he did that because bush was an idiot but fidel was a hero
