My favorite TV show was and is still Mission Impossible.

  • Requiescat in Pace Peter.

Now, all of your Missions are Accomplished...

  • Riposa in Pace Peter. Now, all of your Missions are Accomplished!

  • He learned almost too late that man is a feeling creature, and because of it the greatest in the universe. And he learned too late for himself that men have to find their own way, to make their own mistakes; there can't be any gift of perfection from outside ourselves. And when men seek such perfection, they find only death, loss, disillusionment and the end of everything that's gone forward. Men have always sought an end to toil and misery. It can't be given - it has to be achieved!

  • @Wraythhmark Perfection will be given by Christ when He returns. Because of our fallen nature, we cannot bring in perfection; we must be changed ourselves. The imperfect cannot create the perfect, only the perfect can.

  • R.I.P. Peter Graves. I remember him from 7th heaven

  • Good luck, Jim!

  • An excellent actor!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Another one of the old time actors gone, not many left now: Kirk Douglas, Clint Eastwood, Ernest Borgnine. And what about Peter Graves brother and fellow actor James Arness..does anyone know if he is still alive. He was a favorite of John Wayne despite being several inches taller than the Duke

  • At least Leslie Nielsen is still alive

    RIP Peter

  • Hey 83, that's ripe. Quality of life is about shot at that age, dropping stools in his pants between soft meals. We are all fertilizer eventually. I guess Clint Eastwood is next, an even better actor, or at least more popular.

  • RIP Mr. Phelps.

  • great Actor, loved Airplane films

  • RIP Peter Graves, you will be missed

  • AMEN Arkura!!

Tom could have at least used the originals in the first flick at least. They were the originators that made ITPOSSIBLE! Hollywood today sucks!

Great love for you Peter Graves! Peace to your loving soul and thank you so much for teaching us strategy, timing, and precision in carrying out all our missions in life!

  • Peter Graves was a great actor. Sadly underrated. He was the best host Biography ever had. Glad to hear he won Emmy for hosting the Biography segment on Judy Garland in 1997.

    RIP

  • Rest in Peace Mister Graves, you are forever in our hearts. A fantastic actor, playing in clever movies or TV shows, and a very handsome man. I'm sure he's now with Greg Morris playing tricks in heaven :)

  • Rest in peace. Great actor and a gentleman. Grew up watching Mission Impossible and have been a Peter Graves fan since. Unserrated actor, he should have been a bigger star!!!! But he was big enough I suppose.

Will be missed all over the world a class act we should all emulate. RIP Mr. Phelps and may you have a ball in Heaven!!!!

  • On the dutch news only one picture of picture and they told wich series and films he played, but at the 20.00 news broadcast they used the original Mission Impossible tune for a moment :)

  • Forever Peter Graves,Rest in Peace,I loved mission impossible and he was a mester ,a great actor that we all love forever.Until next time...

  • Hey, I love him and his brother. I'm glad he lived as long as he did. I nevewr really hear about tall people living to be 90. I'm pulling for James Arness. He's gonna be 87 this year. Fred McMurray was 6'4 and lived to be 88. Both James and Peter are so laid back and generally happy. I will miss Peter's sense of humor. I remember his narration on his brother's bio. God Bless him and his family.

  • God Bless Him!!

  • One of my absolute favorite actors is gone!

  • This made me so sad. I watch MI all the time on cable. He is so great in that series. Stalag 17, wow!! What an actor. Easy on the eyes also.....

  • Younger brother of actor James Arness.

  • into the light of darkness, rest in the mysterious after life

  • Rest in Peace!

  • In addition to Mission Impossible and countless other TV projects, Peter Graves did something like 30 theatrical films including the film classics Stalag 17, The Night of the Hunter and Airplane! The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has just sent a letter to the family with their regrets that as a TV actor he wont be appearing in next years Oscar tribute.

  • @MalubaySyecado

AIN'T THAT A BITCH. HE WAS FABULOUSLY TALENTED. WHAT A SHAME. WELL, YOU SEE HOW THEY OMITTED BEA ARTHUR, FARAH FAWCETT & HENRY GIBSON THIS YEAR. THAT WAS TOTALLY EFFED UP...SORRY :)

  • Billy, have you been to uh... A Turkish prison?

Ever see a grown man naked?

  • I'm just saying. Why is everyone thanking him now? Why didn't everybody thank him while he was alive?

  • I agree, pretty sad people have to wait till someone dies to thank them and pay tribute

  • Because thanking a person while alive is not really practical since you'd be thanking them so many times. Why thank them when you know they still got a lot more things to do and could possibly do?

Once a person dies, that's when you know that they've already done their job to the last. And then we thank them for it.

And of course, it's also the context of the appreciation. A "thank you" for a gift is different from a "thank you" for a memory.

    My two cents.

  • RIP Mr. Graves and thank for for the great performances.

  • a good actor

  • Farewell Mr. Graves and thank you.

  • A class act all the way.
