sometimes (GASP) when changes in economy & peak times for automobile manufacture/shipping, more rail cars are available than needed; when not needed, WHAT WOULD YOU THINK THEY DO??? SPIN CIRCLES, GOING NO WHERE, BURNING UP FUEL? I can't believe (well, OK, it's the SW USA) people c/would believe such NON-Sense!
i live in yuma and see these cars every day. they haul automobiles and livestock. wackenhut hauls illegal aliens, prisoners, etc for the government and state. relax, it's ok.
These cars have been bouncing around (in this form) since about 1970. The fact that Wellton is about 29 miles outside Yuma, which has a major train yard, suggests that these were left in storage. The fact that Wackenhut is there, sadly doesn't mean much. They're just a security firm. I mean, they provide security for the local AC manufacturer. No conspiracy there.
@darkyoda Outside of Memphis, my friends and I saw railway cars that were a little different than these, we peeked through the slats and saw shackles and chains and seats... I literally almost threw up. Do you know what these could be for?
@Stillwater900 Those aren't seats. What you saw are the guides used to keep automobiles from running into the sides. Depending on the perspective you get, you can make that look like a seat. As for shackles, they're actually called "turnbuckles." Due to the torsional forces in railcars, everything on wheels that are carried, are tied down. The turnbuckles have been in use since the 20's, and look vaguely like shackles to the uninformed.
Take the advise of the broad in the video. Take a deep breath and chill out. Quit being a paranoid idiot. Oh noes, an armored van appeared within 20 miles of a fucking auto transport train in AZ.... the end is extremely fucking nigh!
oh no ...not a train sitting on train tracks, I am oh so scared of a stationary train *runs and hides* LOL ..come on people, the whole "FEMA death camps" and all of that other bullshit is just that, bullshit. People need to stop trying to scare others and spread disinformation. It's really unbelievable how people buy into this stuff. I do believe there are major changes coming our way, but they are good not bad.

Yes, Union Pacific and the government are conspiring together to destroy the American population. Down with coporate entities! Seriously? I'm beginning to think that no one has heard of an autorack before.
funny though im credited with finding the first of these cars and making maps to where they are almost 6 plus years ago.. I forget the URL Ive looked for it again but it was viral for a second back in 2004 ish.
@chestateegold The first ones started hitting the rails in the 50's, though those were the open sided types. Wasn't until the 70's and the advent of gang violence and theft that they started enclosing them. Even so, up in Canada and in some short trips, the open sided types are still used.
these are for auto transport stop your car & look into them the sides are louvered for air you can see the automobiles inside I lived in Riverside, CA and it is home to several companies all zoned into an industrial area composing miles and miles of parking lots that function as new car distribution centers, used/leased/repossessed car auctions and redistribution hub for the nation Multiple trains all converge on this area with literally thousands of these exact boxcars all stuffed with autos
