  • yes srinivas is genious but what ever may be the instrument carnatic music is eternal

  • good pounding of swaras in hamsadwani. would like to see more gamakams and other ragas.

i second guitarguy1381. there is only one shrinivas. no one else can be!

  • I find it a bit odd and disengenious that people that are now taking up mandolin do not credit Mandolin Shrinivas at the very least for inspiration. He was the pioneer of this instrument for Carnatic music. I visited this fellow's site and nothing was mentioned about Shrinivas. Maybe they magically started playing mandolin @ the same time? I doubt it.

  • actually raju studied under the same guru as shrinivas, so he's more of a contemporary of shrinivas than a follower of his. While raju started playing a few years later than shrinivas, he by no means owes anything in terms of credit or inspiration to him. FYI guitarguy

  • Oh, I see... So, Raju simultaneously made the modifications to the Electric Mandolin as Srinivas did to enable playing Carnatic music on it? Or is it that Raju is using Srinivas' modifications? Oops, there goes your claim that Raju does not owe anything to Srinivas...

  • simply excellent !! keep it up
