  • Best song ever!

  • This when life was good....

  • Please check a remix of this live by the french famous mozinor

    "Mozinor - Street life Remix ( 2001 )" enjoy

  • @Pakash8, how dare you even call the "noise" today "music" what a great insult that is, "This is Music".

  • @THEMETAPHY I don't think I have with any word said that this shit nowadays has anything in common with music back then. I hate that shit from today. So ..........

    C A L M D O W N and drink a cup of tea.

  • crucial listening....music to my ears...a classic.

  • What a great Song....Brings back memorys....The Best Music:Ever

  • 2 people had better play their life away.

  • Thanks for posting but this song is NOT live!

  • My all time favorite Song, great Job Randy

  • I'm not really into soul and R&B but every now and then a hear a song that catches my attention (not into the saxophone bit tho).

  • Amazing voice. Love this song!

  • this is not live, of course. still, it's great to have this original video here.

  • I was 12 years old when this song came out and I recall hearing it for the first time when a guy walked by me with his huge boom box radio atop his shoulder. It was a simpler time.

  • I remember the promos of the movie Sharky's Machine and I loved that song. When I think of Atlanta I think of this song.

  • look how happy she is what a voice too

  • The 2 people that hit the dislike button are not too streetwise!

  • i can't get off my eyes from her georgeous lips! they're hipnotizing!!!

  • I am not sure but i think this might be the concert i visited in Hollywood, LA, 1980. I was there with my GF in worn out jeans, the only two young white tourists in a crowd of maybe 500 mid-aged black listeners in full fancy dress and shiny 80s hairdo ;-) The Crusaders did two shows together with Tom Browne "Funkin for Jamaika" and the second show was getting a big party where everybody moved heavily. I never will forget this evening, i loved that big family feeling with Randy.

  • Jackie Brown baby! ;)

  • Nobody leans on Sharky's Machine!

  • Great song ! Nice performance - love the vocals and jazzy style.

  • reminds me of my mom .she loved randy crawford

  • Jackie Brown....

  • I was born in 1980. As I child I knew something was wrong with synth and hexaganal drums. The rare tracks played by Earth Wind and Fire, Commodores and Chic started my infatuation. By 11 I had amassed a huge collection of funk/groves from Average White Band to Herbie Hancock. I feel I missed the best era of producers, arrangers and talented musicians. I love my psychedelic and progressive trance, but I'm sad to hear the decline in standards such the likes of Lady Gaga is considered talented

  • @itadaku23 Me too I was born in 1980 and am in love with 80's funk and soul groove. It just makes me want to dance at every moment. If I was an artist right now Nile Rodgers would be producing my album let me tell you! As for Lady GaGa her music can never touch these vibes. People need to know before GAGA there was Grace Jones!!!

  • good music it's fan

  • Back in time of great black music with soul feeling !!! An awesome !!!

  • EN OTRAS VERSIONES ESTA BELLA CANCIÓN DE LA INCOMPARABLE RANDY CRAWFORD ES SONORA Y POTENTEMENTE RÍTMICA.

AQUÍ LA GRABACIÓN NO ES LA ESPERADA.

  • Hey it's Laverne Hooks.

  • ha, i was born in the seventies and it was f-ing awesome, dancing and playing wit doors open, music was great through to the eighties. now theres bullshit n xfactor.

  • I totally agree with Pakash8 I was there and it was fantastic I would love to turn back the clock . Songs like this will live forever. This was the time when what you heard was the true sound. Nodays its just all Hi tech

  • this is good stuff.

  • My favorite song by Randy! I imitated her as well as many other artists.

  • yes tro bon

  • best song ever. randy has a wonderful voice

  • Hey skiboogieNYC I feel I lived this whole senrio trust mewe made BIG MonEY and had a ball(NO GUNS)

  • STRAIGHT PIMP SHIT!!!!! I LOVE IT!!! THIS IS WHAT I GREW UP ON !!!

  • @earlean60 No Doubt!! I wish this generation had the same as what we grew up with.

  • randy has a great voice!!

  • can't get better than this. Sarah Vaughan is proud....Randy and the Crusaders are perfect...Smooth as silk baby. I partied hard to this sound. Sweeeeeeeet...

  • The street life must have consumed one poor soul.. Almost feel sorry for him/her playing their life away.

  • i play the street life! jazz/rb no-1 can come close these days to the classic 70's and the raw talent that decade produced! wish i could go back in time and re-live and dance the night away to the supa 70's classic's and i miss those days!

  • Love this song

  • Oh what great memories this brings! First date first dance first kiss! What great music back then. Randy, Barry White .... Where is it all gone now!!?

  • What a beautiful chocolate woman, and man can she sing!!!

  • orginal music

  • They really knew how to write songs in those days - this is one of absolute favs. Thanks for posting it. Randy sure has a throat of gold.

  • wow, beautiful music by beautiful people... funny the sax player has the same horn I have, a king super 20 silver neck. Great stuff

  • im soooooooooo glad my parents exposed me to these older songs as a child...they used to play this song back when they had the card parties and only adults were allowed in the front room...and the house smelled funny lol.....

  • Brings back good memories. Use to cruz the south side Chicago streets late at night on this jam at 16 & 17 years old. good music can never die.

  • listen to the funky bass...now this is music!!

  • Cool song and video.

  • I used to dig this when I was ten. Still love it today. Fantastic. What do you get today? A bunch of chippy, baggy trousered, big-mouthed and dis-respectful dick-wipes.

  • She's so pretty. And is truly an underrated singer.

  • u gotta love these crude low budget videos. BUT thtat was THE BIZNESS in 1981 (or whenever this record came out !! )

  • Fuck. I sold my Crusaders double vynil.........

  • Street life....slangin' herion and yayo

  • Sing that song Randy!!

  • Her voice is hauntingly brilliant!

  • Oh man... Thanks so much for posting!!!

  • Oh man... Thanks so much for posting!!!

  • DAMN GOOD performance of this by RANDY and the band -- considering it's so hard to recreate live what was mixed in the studio. I really missed the trumpets blasting out like car horns, for the musicians numbered probably half of the original crew ... but again, DAMN GOOD ! GO RANDY !

  • Randy was HOT....no denying it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • thank u tube

  • REALLLLLLL Music lives on YOUTUBE!!!! Yaaaayyyyyyyy!!!

  • awesome memories!!!!!!!!

  • great song but i think of the movie sharkey's machine......

  • CAn anyone relate 2 this!

  • Super génial. J'adore et je la passe en boucle... Randy je t'aime....

  • Excelente...Sp/Brasil

  • Great song!!!

    5 stars!!!

  • This is the only version I could find online with the original Saxophone solo that I heard on a regular basis when I was a kid. Love this tune.

  • It's something the Crusaders were from Houston. I hear this song and it takes me back to New York City....then again, everything does, I guess

  • People said/say disco is vapid and shallow but this song is DEEP~ the lyrics make my blood run cold in stark contrast to the heat of the music ~ and YES, if she isn't one of the most beautiful, sexy, Amazingly GORGEOUS... ..Randy Crawford is a goddess! She puts these air-brushed women of today to shame. Just some lipstick and her dark rich glowing skin and natural beauty (and hair) ~ pure effervescence ~ God, she's a beauty ! (agreed)

  • This is the "music video" to the studio track...it isn't live.

  • randy was fuckin gorgeous!!!!

  • although without the profanity. i agree with you that Randy Crawford was amazingly beautiful black sister with crazy talent.......thank God for the music of yesteryear

  • A GEM !!!

    Bella Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵Ʒ

  • gosh, am I glad I'm not born today but rather in a time that let me enjoy all of this great music...and dance my butt off to it, too. Many think disco sucked back then, but I believe those who did wish for the music now. There has never been any happier music than disco, funk, groove...and the likes. No comparison nowadays - just a bunch of yeep 'n' yap that nobody understands. What has happened to music? it's about the only thing that hasn't evolved.

  • @Pakash8 u just are too caught up in mtv music to notice the true beauty of some musicians today.

  • @Pakash8 realy songs

  • @Pakash8 Couldn't agree more..

Disco gave me (and many others) an energising affirmation in my heart.

Thirty years later it still does..

  • @Pakash8 those who mocked did so because they couldn`t dance! we could and did.

  • @Pakash8

Hahaha sadly me being a 21 Y.O. my generation gets blamed for this garbage the "industry" calls music.. I would blame them to, I hate all the techocrap out now..I wish I was born during this time...or had a fully functioning time machine to enjoy this music in its prime.

  • @Pakash8 100% right and i didn't exist then. the music back then was class... i love the way the balck people play and sing music it is so brilliant white people cannot emulate it if tehy tried.... i am white irish and i try all time on bass and i am excellent bassist but they ar so out of any league i know of. so pure so happy and brillaint. white man ripped off so many blacks like robert johnson and all that .. absolute brilliant

  • One of those all time greatest.

  • just finished watching jackie brown had to listen to this again

  • great song, hard lyrics but still relaxed and entertaining

  • I was 10 back then and there was a disco with that disco ball I use to peep in and I wish I was old enough to go in.....

  • Randy Crawford was born to sing this great song. Still remember when I first heard it, in the movie Sharky's Machine with Burt Reynolds. Great times, music and movies.

  • Her voice is just so...pure.

I can't get enough of Randy!

  • I can't believe this cut is 30 years old. In any era, Randy Crawford would be plain drop dead gorgeous. Dang, I love my dark skinned nubian sisters. I married one too!

  • @leftdunk Ya better watch your mouth! Don't be lusting after other sisters while your wife is at home breast feeding ya baby and sticking your meal in the oven!

  • well Right On! Brotha!!!! (*:

Randy is a legend, and this is a Superb performance....gosh. i used to dance in the livingroom to this song, lots of great memories growing up with this song...

  • YEAH-love RANDY CRAWFORD and this song. I have a couple of her cd.s; one with her cover of GEORGE BENSON'S song "GIVE ME THE NIGHT"

  • so coooooolllll !!

  • The year must be 1979 or 1980.

  • THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • u better reconignise this women.......

  • How sexi is Randy?.....

  • I was about 10 years old and I had this on a old tape and I used to play it over and over trying my best to mimic Randy Crawford.

  • I was ' bout 17 when this was released. These guys are still my heroes. Stix Hooper, Wayne Henderson, Joe Sample, Wilton Felder

  • Stix Hooper!! I got to ride in a cab with him on the way to the NAMM show years ago -- the coolest guy, very down to earth and humble for such a great drummer.

  • One of my Favorites! I saw her do this Live, back in the day!

  • ur so damn lucky!!! i bet it was awesome seeing her live, and just being out and about during that time. i was around, but i was too young...

  • REE072 "when it's more about the money today." - Duh. Most artists want to make a living and pay the bills just like you and I. Do you have people telling you how you should be making a living? Ridiculous. I don't blame any "artist" for the way they make money. People pay them what they want to hear and that's good enough. "Purists" are full of themselves. Basically jealous that they can't make a living at what they really want to do. Just miserable people living in the past and in a vacuum.

  • that's true, but the tanlent today has deminished to a lower value. today it's just more money is involed but the artist today sucks! their crap!!!! and the people who listen to that crap well you are what you listen too that's the new saying!

  • temazo

  • I just wish I had her teeth...

  • the tanlent and the artist like this just don't exsist anymore. take most of the artist today anyone can dispute that they are even true artist. when it's more about the money today. and these so called artist just put anything together and dress it up and call it a hit. with no true feeling into what they are doing!!!!!!!!!

  • i am 21yo and love this song, my mom's fav song and artist, she is awesome

  • One of the best voices on this planet - and what a gorgeous Live performance! Absolutely great!
