  • nice squats . Forget all these ATG form critics...if you're a powerlifter then stick with your wide stance and go parallel or just below parallel. GL buddy

  • you can't go past parallel like that with a wide power squat stance. use the olympic squat stance so your hips dont restrict your range of motion, everyone who keeps saying its not ATG is just a troll

  • yeah I didn't know that at first, I never really do atg squats, just below parallel squats for powerlifting, I am strongest with a wide stance so that is why I normally squat that way.

  • Why did you do 135 for a pause for 25 seconds? Just curious because I always do the same thing at the end of my sets. I do that to stretch myself out to make myself squat deeper.

  • I did it to get myself use to depth, I was trying for atg depth originally, but couldn't quite deep enough.

  • thats not ass-to-grass. That is just below parallel. I do ass to grass, with 225 lbs for reps .

  • Thats what some others said, its hard as hell for me to squat ATG with a wide stance, I can squat alil deeper with a narrow stance, check out my ATG squat 365 with narrow stance, in the future I hope to improve my depth, but I focus more on slightly below parallel depth since I powerlift. I tried it with a closer stance

  • Yeh I powerlift too. The only lift that I do olympic style is the squat. You probably can't do ATG with a wide stance because you lack hip mobility or have tight hamstrings. I did look over your video again and that is a pretty wide stance, I usually do it less wide, by maybe 3 inches less than yours. That is still a very good amount of weight and you are going below parallel so props to you. I hate bitches that don't go to parallel.

  • maybe, beats me, I use a wide stance because I feel strongest with it. But if I try ATG in the future I will probably try with a narrow stance. But all that matters most to me is below parallel.

  • nice squat bro thats what my clean postion front squat max was, i never maxed out back tho... it was probley 405ish but now i cant even squat my bw rite now i tore a muscle in my quad running to my slid n slide :[

  • Jared you have very strong legs. I can't go that deep with my squats yet. I just got a used rack for home. Now I can't do more squad. Even thou I'm gonna be doing squads more now I don't think I'll match your leg power. Keep it up Dude.

  • Yeah I was surprised i could do that much, but I may try a closer stance to get even deeper, I just like to do various strength challenges and variations it's a lot of fun, i love the variety man, keeps weight training much more interesting.

  • awesome squatting man definately went to calves insane strength. only thing i critique on is that ass to grass squats are done with a close stance because even though you went until your ass was touching your calves it didnt look like you were to far below parallel and it looked like you were using your back to lean forward and to get that extra depth to where it was atg. it might be easier to hit depth with a closer stance.unless i am viewing it wrong. either way your legs own mine5stars dude

  • I could always try with a closer stance, just for fun, I honestly think I could not go any deeper though lol, I even tried to go deeper with 135 at the end, but it still looked I couldn't go any deeper.

  • well your leg strength is very strong. i could be wrong but i nall honesty oi think that a true atg squat is a close grip squat. i think you just did a deep powerlifitng squat. i could be wrong though but ive always known atg squats to be close stanced. like look at all the olympic athletes that squat atg its close. either way i wish i had your leg strength. my legs just dont want to get stronger. i just want to hit a 315 atg squat, then ill focus on benching and curling. and deadlifting.

  • I will try it with a closer stance because I feel i can get a lot deeper that way, just tried it without weight and your right you can get a lot deeper that way.
