And when they can no longer afford what food the farmers do produce.....go eat grass.

Less food, higher prices, oh the wonders of the short sighted shallow thinkers. I agree though, end the subsidies completely, let the market determine the prices and see how that works out for the poor.

I am no proponent of gov't subsidies, but I also understand they drive food production and force prices down. Do you really think the farmer is going to sell for less, while producing less?
