  • No question, Neil Diamond was inspired to write this song after he had attended a Revival Meeting. A Spiritual thread is woven through many of Neil Diamonds songs. Seems Brother Love left quite an impression by preaching the words that speak to the soul. Never having met Brother Love, I admire him for his work and the influence he had on Neil. In time Neil's concerts emulated Brother Love and inspired the souls from young to old. May God Bless All the children that make up humanity.

  • BROTHERS!...I say Brothers!...Now you got yourself TWO good hands...and when your brother is in trouble you gotta reach out your one hand for him!...'cuz that's what it's there for...And when your heart is in trouble you gotta reach out your other hand...reach it out to THE MAN up there!...'cuz that's what He's there for...

  • @tyme4mike My favorite line in this song.

  • @krammit69 Says so much doesn't it? But how many people today actually do it? Peace to you brother.

  • Pack up the babies and grab the old ladies

And everyone goes, 'cause everyone knows, brother Love's show

  • You're emphasizing too much on the word "brother love" here. The preacher's name is "Brother Love" hence the apostrophe at the end of Love with a capital letter, mind you, in the phrase "Brother Love's Traveling Salvation Show" It's referring to a person. The song is about a revival hence the reference to "brothers" in the old southern gospel town near the end...not about war.

  • tone* not town

i say : music is open to indivual interpretation.....thats what music is about.

  • @italianman004 Sometime love is war. Abraham and Sarah were half brother and sister. It is an archetype of twin souls as discussed in Song of Solomon.

  • Just listen to the song, and it will be clear that he doesn't so much speak of church but at the very moment one is in war.

Just listen to every word itn it shall be quite clear, war is no doubt the time for brother love.

  • not in the ahn shau valley it wasnt
