ive got a 32 inch 1080p lg tv that im now using as a monitor but it seems weired so close might end up buying a 22inch monitor or something 2 make things easier
Great information..........I was considering buying a 32 in. Sony TV monitor to use as a computer monitor.....The cost $299.00 on sell. A computer monitor I was looking at (24 in.) cost 260.00. It's hard to pass up the saves & size for the computer monitor. My video card has HDMI so I believe It would give me even better performance. Thanks!
picked up a 30" dell for £410 with 2560 x 1600 just get a workinbg second hand one, if it breaks makes sure you have contents insurance, and wala a brand new monitor worth 1200
... i got a 21 inch screen for 300.. my dad got a 26 inch for like 400... o-o..
its gonna be pretty even.. and that resolution sucks o__O
i have a TV with a VGA input, but it doesn't get past the boot screen, after the boot screen it doesn't recognize my pc for some reason, could be a need for some software, or monitor settings.. but that's gonna be a problem
my scren comes on great with the desktop photo, but not icons, and when it goes to screen saver, it seems to be the left of the screen, big screen on left side of room, and pc screen on the right, how do i get the SAME screen, so I can actually have EI and my tabs and icons on the big screen, thats the only thing Im not getting.
i use a Panasonic 32" 1080p lcd as a monitor works great but i would like a higher resolution screen so i have more room to work with in windows so when they make 1440p t.v's i will upgrade.
I build computers and im guessing so does he, so he should know that high grade graphics cards have a hdmi out which is better than dvi/vga, at one point I had a 32" tv in the middle of two large computer screen which all ran on one pc
@rayzrblayd24 And I could imagine he has to actually rotate his head to look at the other end of the screen. I currently work with 2 FullHD 23"'s, of which one is a touchscreen. I find it quite usefull to have to rotate my head to look at the other screen, it gives a feeling of "seperation" between the 2. But having 1 application in which you have to rotate your head? No thanks.
@stanek007 this is basic computer knowledge lol not hard if you think about it i do all this on a daily basis. fixing computers, building them, etc. only diff is i run dual monitors. sometimes i have a 60" tv plugged in sometimes just 2 28" monitors.
good informing video everyone is like blahh your a moron if you dont know that so i guess i used to be a moron lol but if you want to go on the cheap man im going to use that saying now u can do this older t.v flicker a bit but online gaming and serious solo games will be affected by the resolution and responce time
whats funny is this was posted in 07? lol its still very true to day :) the only problem is that it is only one machine like some one can't watch tv wile your playing a video game on it, but still a good idea :D
haha, i have the same size tv in my room, with a vga port, built in dvd player, sd card slot, and 2 usb ports, its a great tv and it only cost 410$ ;)
Ok getting a dell tower wit a ati hd4680 graphics card with hdmi output can i use a hdmi cable and hook it from my graphics card my tv btw my tv also has s video but dnt know about my pc
question: if i get a 106" tv and plug it into my pc, and i get a ATI 4870 radeon graph card, can i then get the 4870x2460 resolution that the card supports?
I have that and a 47inch. U can just use the hdmi port to get to 1920 x 1080 as native resolution. So if u have a new comp and don't feel like spending the money on any monitor. Just hook it up to ur HDTV with an hdmi cable and ur set
You can get the TV to go bigger resolutions by going to the settings tab then advanced.. then monitor.. and uncheck "Hide modes that this monitor cannot display"... i do that to get my 17inch monitor to go up to 1600x900. Hope that helps^_^, also i could have made it 1920x1080.. but everything is too small to read.
pointless to buy a TV monitor that big at 720p or 1080, get a 30" at 1600P!!!! i have my 40" set up as a secondary monitor for hyperspin, arcade purposes, its legit
The only reason why tv's don't go higher then 1080p is because thats what the media uses , if all/most of the media switched to a res such as 2560x1600 so would most of the tv company's
I have mine hooked up to the tv but my mom can't read the screen from the couch and I barely can is the a way to change it I have the resolution to 1360 by 768 pixels because that fits the screen any advice will help
if i have like 1680x1050 can i then do it like bigger like 1700x1500 (just was an example) if i can can some1 plz tell me i want bigger screen then it be more good :d
That is IF you video card has DVI output on it, which I am sure it does. But I have my 42 inch plasma hooked up and it looks just as crisp as my moniter.

I just picked up a vizio 32 inch in 1080p and it has VGA. It costs about $400 at Walmart. It is awesome.
