  • Is this dude death? :)

  • i have a small samsung lcd with hdmi and an hdmi tower with built in wi fi,i will never go back to a laptop again,

  • ive got a 32 inch 1080p lg tv that im now using as a monitor but it seems weired so close might end up buying a 22inch monitor or something 2 make things easier

  • @FatalShotUK yeah, a 22" monitor is way more practical than a 24" for a number of reasons.

  • Great information..........I was considering buying a 32 in. Sony TV monitor to use as a computer monitor.....The cost $299.00 on sell. A computer monitor I was looking at (24 in.) cost 260.00. It's hard to pass up the saves & size for the computer monitor. My video card has HDMI so I believe It would give me even better performance. Thanks!

  • picked up a 30" dell for £410 with 2560 x 1600 just get a workinbg second hand one, if it breaks makes sure you have contents insurance, and wala a brand new monitor worth 1200

its gonna be pretty even.. and that resolution sucks o__O

i have a TV with a VGA input, but it doesn't get past the boot screen, after the boot screen it doesn't recognize my pc for some reason, could be a need for some software, or monitor settings.. but that's gonna be a problem

  • how is it "on the cheap" when you paid $600, and a 32" monitor is around $300?

  • @daverelax1 "Uploaded by pcmedianet on Oct 16, 2007" ;-)

  • @TheTacticalAviator Lol Talk about a little less. I'm going to buy a 42"inch LCD TV on Black Friday for $199

  • Isnt this harmfull to your eyes?

  • What about the distance? 1m?

  • if someone learn something from this video please let me know....

    waste of time 4.29 min....

  • actually helpful somehow ha

  • my scren comes on great with the desktop photo, but not icons, and when it goes to screen saver, it seems to be the left of the screen, big screen on left side of room, and pc screen on the right, how do i get the SAME screen, so I can actually have EI and my tabs and icons on the big screen, thats the only thing Im not getting.

  • i use a Panasonic 32" 1080p lcd as a monitor works great but i would like a higher resolution screen so i have more room to work with in windows so when they make 1440p t.v's i will upgrade.

  • that would be stupid? u r stupid bitch! fuck you.

  • This is LCD, not plasma, not projection, why do we have screensavers anymore?

  • Lol I have that keyboard... and I never use it...

  • You look like Donny Jones from My Name is Earl. :P

  • wow windows on tv is new! i have windows built in on my tv its called wintv 7

  • I build computers and im guessing so does he, so he should know that high grade graphics cards have a hdmi out which is better than dvi/vga, at one point I had a 32" tv in the middle of two large computer screen which all ran on one pc

  • maybe a stolen LCD

  • MOLE!!!!!

  • @lyubomir1111 ;p!

  • no full hd lol

  • moli moli moli

  • work = screensaver?

  • @Tarrdica He has 2 computers, the fish screensaver is just something pretty to look at while he works on the other

  • Things have changed alot you can do this now for far less money and with 1029x180.

I have a sony 42" it works perfect.

  • if you still use windows xp...i wonder if you really are a "PC mech" hmmmm...no hate just honesty.

  • @PunkPictures This video was taken over 2 years ago, windows7 wasnt out and vista sucked

  • I'm getting a 42" monitor to replace my current 21". Imagine watching 1080p movies on that bitch.

  • @rayzrblayd24 At that size, you'll have to sit like 10 metres away from it in order to enjoy it. I don't see the point in this.

  • @Eraknelo Not really, a friend of mine hooked up his computer to his 42" LCD tv and that's the shit. He sits like 4 feet away from it.

  • @rayzrblayd24 And I could imagine he has to actually rotate his head to look at the other end of the screen. I currently work with 2 FullHD 23"'s, of which one is a touchscreen. I find it quite usefull to have to rotate my head to look at the other screen, it gives a feeling of "seperation" between the 2. But having 1 application in which you have to rotate your head? No thanks.

  • @Eraknelo Maybe you haven't seen it up close. I have and I loved the way it felt. So I'm getting one this week.

  • Comment removed

  • @450hp202turbo fixed it months ago with driver updates

  • These are screen ps or phone

  • Should be able to get 1920x1080 30hz on that.... I can with mine...

  • This will be good for people who don't want eyestrain.

  • @sjerads This will be bad for people who don't want a low power bill.

  • @sjerads Should be fine if you use DVI to HDMI cable, vga looks really bad on an HDTV.

  • Hello I would like to know how many inches is the TV of your video.

  • haha just bought the same tv for 325

  • thanks man...!! i was undecided getting a 32 lcd tv as a monitor... but now I going to get one..!! ;)

  • my 10,1'' mini-laptop has same resolution as your

  • really big nerd! ;)

  • @stanek007 this is basic computer knowledge lol not hard if you think about it i do all this on a daily basis. fixing computers, building them, etc. only diff is i run dual monitors. sometimes i have a 60" tv plugged in sometimes just 2 28" monitors.

  • a...so ok i agree with u than ;)!

  • The resolution is too small. Should have gotten a 1080p 32" but I guess that was a while ago.

  • cant u use HDMI instead of VGA if ur computer tower and TV both have a HDMI input and output?

  • 52 inch paid 550$ at walmart

  • m-m-m-mOLLEEE MOLEY MOLEY MOLEYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY nice video :)

  • 768 is terrible. I tried my Sharp aquos 32" and it looked awful.

  • lol its not even hd 32 inch here

  • wow i have one way bigger then that...

  • Mm....mmm.....mm.......

    MOLE!

  • You can get like 40" real monitors, but they are way to overpriced

  • TV is not good for gaming, but i use it for HD 52" porn. 24" asus for screen.

  • How much are these?

  • be real. you "picked it up" for your "second computer" to watch PORN!!

    hahaha

    xD

  • 1080p hdtv's are awesome thats why i use them for my pc

  • Thanks for the video! Great tips

  • good informing video everyone is like blahh your a moron if you dont know that so i guess i used to be a moron lol but if you want to go on the cheap man im going to use that saying now u can do this older t.v flicker a bit but online gaming and serious solo games will be affected by the resolution and responce time

  • higher the resolution...

  • mole

  • whats funny is this was posted in 07? lol its still very true to day :) the only problem is that it is only one machine like some one can't watch tv wile your playing a video game on it, but still a good idea :D

  • i wanna buy one with full hd but pc screen nt tv :)

  • thanks now i got my screen to its normal size :)

  • I have a 15" screen XD

But I have a HD 4770 and AMD pehnom II and I play crysis on hihg :P

  • @maxoomen xD crysis on 15" thats cool^^

  • Im using a 32" while i wait for my cabinet to arrive

  • haha, i have the same size tv in my room, with a vga port, built in dvd player, sd card slot, and 2 usb ports, its a great tv and it only cost 410$ ;)

  • noob, LCD TV can be connect via HDMI cable too.

  • @CJ2GAME yea, and you can sett the resulution to 1080p

  • Ok getting a dell tower wit a ati hd4680 graphics card with hdmi output can i use a hdmi cable and hook it from my graphics card my tv btw my tv also has s video but dnt know about my pc

  • He said Vga Is he sure about that? You coul hook it up via S-Video can't you?!?

  • I guess no one realizes that this video is from 2007

  • question: if i get a 106" tv and plug it into my pc, and i get a ATI 4870 radeon graph card, can i then get the 4870x2460 resolution that the card supports?

  • @wannabeers Yes, and 106"?! D:

  • @wannabeers yeah just run it through hdmi

  • is it easy to flip over and watch cable tv without any real problem.

  • Get windows 7 and you're good.

  • firefox is the best browser

  • i did the some thing with my tz2

  • Thank you for tips. Just bought one for me PC :)

    Cheers mate.

  • @MyMusicTube68 do not make quacamole from it, no one will eat or buy it! :p

  • nice

  • I have that and a 47inch. U can just use the hdmi port to get to 1920 x 1080 as native resolution. So if u have a new comp and don't feel like spending the money on any monitor. Just hook it up to ur HDTV with an hdmi cable and ur set

  • 42" mole

  • haha, its funny i can get a 32" for £280...

  • @alex525alex, EVOTEL 32 inch TV ? From Currys Or PC world... ? I have it as my Monitor !

  • het rid of your mole mate

  • i got 42" Philips and Hp2408h both connected HDMI 1080p to my Mac Mini

  • great video!

and I think you kind of sound like Ray Romano xD

  • You can get the TV to go bigger resolutions by going to the settings tab then advanced.. then monitor.. and uncheck "Hide modes that this monitor cannot display"... i do that to get my 17inch monitor to go up to 1600x900. Hope that helps^_^, also i could have made it 1920x1080.. but everything is too small to read.

  • HOLY MOLÉ!! whats that on his face.

pointless to buy a TV monitor that big at 720p or 1080, get a 30" at 1600P!!!! i have my 40" set up as a secondary monitor for hyperspin, arcade purposes, its legit

  • The only reason why tv's don't go higher then 1080p is because thats what the media uses , if all/most of the media switched to a res such as 2560x1600 so would most of the tv company's

  • I have mine hooked up to the tv but my mom can't read the screen from the couch and I barely can is the a way to change it I have the resolution to 1360 by 768 pixels because that fits the screen any advice will help

  • if i have like 1680x1050 can i then do it like bigger like 1700x1500 (just was an example) if i can can some1 plz tell me i want bigger screen then it be more good :d

  • :/ the thing is those lcd tv's cant handle relulutions över 1920:1080 ... there are tft's in 30 inch with quad hd 4 about 800

  • Jesus christ, thats a low resolution. You can get like, 3 decent 22" monitors for the price of this TV...

  • how do i get my s-video connection to my tv to stop being really blurry? i've tried everything i can think of..

  • S-video will always be blurry, move onto hdmi my friend.

  • That is IF you video card has DVI output on it, which I am sure it does. But I have my 42 inch plasma hooked up and it looks just as crisp as my moniter.

  • Hey pcmedianet, nice video.

Did you ever think about getting a DVI to HDMI dongle to hook your TV up that way? Better picture than VGA!

  • i just got a vizio 26 in'' at walmart for 300 bucks and it was one of the best decisions i have ever met. Honestly the resolution on this vizio is pretty good. if you are in the market for a big screen for your pc, then go with an hdtv

  • I just got a 32" Vizio 1080p at Sears for $414.00. I think it's the perfect size for a PC monitor and for video games, as well as watching TV.

  • where can i get that screensaver?

  • h t t p : / / w w w . s e r e n e s c r e e n . c o m /

Or... you can search thepiratebay . org for serene screen, marine aquarium and dowload it for FREE. That is... If you do that sort of thing.

  • thanks man its really wicked!

  • If a TV as a monitor for your PC, but it gives poor resolution. Then just get 22" wide-screen Acer LCD flat screen, for about $100 like I got. For now, that's OK for me to watch downloaded movies, etc. Until someday I will get a 32" monitor. Just seems like to much trouble using a TV, due to limited resolution issues. But cool video anyway.

  • enternet explorer sucks...its way to slow. google chrome baby!!!

  • @xy274 naw Firefox FTW, google chrome has too many bugs

  • @xy274

    Google chrome sux.

  • @Wiggaism dats why im using firefox.

  • @xy274 FIREFOX! rated best online it's the fastest browser

  • @lenker2011 yeah, thats why im using it right now :B

  • Can I use a HDMI for better resolution over a VGA input or will it look the same?

  • @tazzedout82364 i would do hdmi to get better quality

  • it doesn't matter what cable you use. it matters what resolution you use. vga can easily support the resolution on this screen, and beyond. hdmi can't get more pixels out of the screen than vga. the quality will be identical. both cables send 1's and 0's to the tv, which converts them to picture on the screen. get it?

  • exactly the same monitor. exactly the same pc. you can easily tell the difference between dvi and vga. I no, because i cant stand going back to vga now. It drives me bonkers.

  • Dude that's how i have my computer exept mine's a little bigger (not bragging

    )

  • vizio sucks !

  • i am using my Sharp 32" TV i had to change the resolution for it to 1360 x 768 for it to be about the same as my computer monmiter and it worked coz i was not willing to use it with icons about the same size as my thumb :L but its working fine now nd i got a simialr port to the vga one i am using but its for going out the tv not sure what it is

  • you know you can change icon size WITHOUT changing the resolution, right?

  • I just picked up a vizio 32 inch in 1080p and it has VGA. It costs about $400 at Walmart. It is awesome.

  • some TVs have 1920x1080, not that much smaller than 1920x1200

  • lol im use a 52" for my PC

  • lol u freak

  • Lol, i use my omnimax screen for my pc.

  • @maddreddogg5 ditto

  • wtf

  • @maddreddogg5

lol downstairs we have a 54'' so if i connect my pc to that that's a pretty nice gaming experience but we already got our PS3 setup there

  • @maddreddogg5 lol you image looks like shit

  • @maddreddogg5 What resulution?

  • @jdcrispe95 1920 x 1080

  • @maddreddogg5 i thought it would go higher than that :|

have you tried turning off "Hide modes this monitor cannot display"?

    I got my 17" CRT's at 1680x1050 each :)

  • Comment removed

  • um dude i got a 32 inch vizio i got it at walmart for 398 and i run mine in 1920x 1080

but i got a kickin video card that can handle it and it is made3 to go to 32 inch monitors

  • you were right about the price changing. i went to walmart in july and baught my 32 inch tv for $300. also my pixel ratio is only 1280X768 T_T

  • hi hows the tv working out? is the image clear?

  • this video is almost 3 years old now.

  • Its only HD-ready. Not full HD ):

I'm gonna get a Full HD TV 32". Prolly a Sony. Connecting my PCs and consoles to it! Can't wait!

  • This man is hurting my brain cellz.

  • arent lcd tvs slower than real monitors too? so it might take 20 ms to detect
