I'm not sure, but they did have a common member (although I don't think she was in both bands at once) so that might explain it.

The drummer, Palmolive was the original drummer of the Slits. She quit and joined Raincoats. The song was recorded by both bands.
Palmolive is on peel sessions Slits recordings, but on "Cut" Budgie (of the Banshees) does the drumming
