put the ps2 on it's side with the power turned off and then look for a screw or something on either side by the cover (mines didnt have any screws so i took it out by force from one side then it broke lol but it still works perfectly nothing bad) once you got the screws off if any then just slowly take it off from one side

I've tried using swap magic with the slide tool using these same steps, but it doesn't work on my (fat) PS2. Every time I try to boot up an import game the PS2 goes back to the browser for a quick second, then says "Please insert a Playstation or Playstation 2 format disc."

you mean NTSC? It just means it's a north american game. PAL is for Europe and Australia I believe (possibly Asia too but not sure about that)

Little correction, france uses PAL as well. NTSC is mostly used on the american continent while pal is used for europe, asia, africa and australia continents. Most of the time, it's not a problem of TV support, but of console cable. ( here, in france, most of stuffs such as the action replay which can play import games are delivered with a second cable for NTSC games ). So, before thinking of using another TV, try a pal cable ^^ it should work well.

In order to play backups or imports, it's not a matter of how useful a slide tool is but actually having a slide tool. It's really easy just to make your own. I made mine with schematics I found on the internet and i made it out of a hotel card. Do NOT use something like a knife as there is a high risk of breaking the elevation arm (The thing your moving with the slide tool) and its just retarded. You also need Swap Magic or a Modchip or a memory card exploit.

Well, actually, you can use CogSwapLoader and CDLoader which are free. You also need an official PlayStation ONE game. You can put these on your memory card and do what is called a memory card exploit. You put the ps1 game in the ps2 and up comes cogswaploader, cdloader, and any other .elf files (that's what they are) you put on there. You put in an official ps2 game and then use your slide tool to take it out and put in your backup and play.

I just figured it out yesterday; so everyone ignore my comment, please.

I didn't realize WHAT I was trying to push to the right (that little tab that locks the disc tray in). All I did before was push a cut-up gift card into my PS2 and it hit the disc a few times...everything's good now.

Luckily I have a 360 anyway, but I advise people to LOOK at what you will push to the side.

if the game is stuck in there.open ur ps2(screws are hidden under grips)remove the othr cover over the disc tray. remove ur game.

If the tray wont open. try slaming(it wont break)ur disc tray further into ur ps2 (u will hear cracking sounds) after the disc tray is comletely in and cant go any further. turn ur ps2 on. then try to open itby pushing the eject button. .wnen u try it reply to my comment and tell me if it worked.:)
