  • AiEkeN:

In 1933, Adolf Hitler met with Ferdinand Porsche to discuss Hitler's idea of a volkswagen (literally "people's car" in German). Hitler proposed a people's car that could carry 5 people, cruise up to 62mph, return 33mpg, and cost only 1000 Reich Marks. This was an opportunity for Porsche to push his idea of a small car foward, as was it to help Hitler get a real people's car for the citizens of Germany.

  • thats a clean looking bug

  • ready for a Ford 289 swap?

  • low...low...low...i like this bug!

  • praise the lowered!!!!

  • Slapped!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Wow, Scrabby sits a lot lower than my '62, "Spuds". Nice bug!

  • Thats Dr Porche, to you.

  • I wish my girlfriend would let me lower her '70 bug. She let me paint it matte black with red rims, but it's just too high at stock!

    Nice bug.

  • the vw bug isnt about power it's about that classic, smooth, body shape which looks just beautiful! especially once it's been waxed but of course if you had money left over i bet this 'little' bug could pullllll so fast!

  • I love the bug man! I'm planning on getting a type 1 bug as a project car. I just love the Cal-Look style. Plus I would love to really get the power out of it so I can beat up on the mustang guys on the weekend! ha

    keep on keepeing on! hah

  • Sorry, but ur wrong. The VW shape was so good and atractive, and was so reliable, that it was produced for 50 years. And it had such good aerodynamic, that the first Porsche (356) was an evolution of the VW. And u can confirm that because the shape of a porsche 911 is an evolution of the VW shape to our days!

  • you are kiding me ..right?if you had to choose from any car would you take that car for a dragster project?i mean..have you ever driven one in its stock form? ??????

  • Of course for dragster's it isnt a good shape. Do u want to compare the cars of 50 years ago to the ones u have today?! Of couser not! But if u want u can find some interesting videos on youtube of some VW dragster's!

  • I believe you're referring to the Corvair. Which is still a cool car even if it was notoriously unsafe.. until Chevy updated it.

  • the car was designed by mr porsche but hiltler wanted this for everyone in germany and austriahe was the soul creater of the car as he did sketches of it ,,,,,,

  • Very nice

  • in 1962!

  • not? He only wanted to build it for the people

  • the designer of the bug was ferdinan porsche not hitler

  • @AiEkeN 12-6 cloud

  • hitler only wanted a cheap car that every one in germeny could aford face it?

  • volkswagen is german for peoples car, i think :-)

  • STFU U R THE MODERN HITLER!!!!!!

  • So what, Hitler is fuckin' dead, its not like when you buy some old raggity bug out of some ones back yard the money goes to some "Hitler's kill the Jews trust fund!" or something.

  • Anyone griping about the rear camber doesn't understand the beetle drivetrain. Do your research before you make your uneducated comments.

  • Yep, pre-1969 Bugs had a swingarm rear suspension. This causes the excessive positive/negative camber alignment when you raise/lower the vehicle.

IMHO, if you want to raise or lower a Bug and keep the older body style, it is better to swap the body onto a 69 or later pan. Post 69 pans incorporated a semi-trailing arm suspension setup which corrected the camber issues.

  • all u fucks are stupid u lower ur bug teh camber bows its normal and it looks sick

  • where is the tire size?+

  • got camber? nice ride!

  • Do you have hydraulic system for your wheels? Cause the back wheels look like the Chamber way out of alignment. Hope all is well for ya. Other than that, it is an awesome car of yours!! : ) : )

  • it is normal that when you lower a bug at the rear, that the rear wheels get a negative camber. the lower you go, the higher the negative camber ;)

    grtz

sweet bug scrabby, the fuchs look spot on!!

  • Hydraulics have nothing to do with camber adjustment. It actually with the Torsion bars in the rear that adjust camber

  • Sweet car man! Love the Fuchs!

  • might have a slight camber issue in the back :D

    nice ride!

  • cuz it's slammed, big time. idk, i don't really like the look of the camber like that

  • Nice ride..........

  • Your bug is perfect dude!keep up the good work!

  • sweet.

  • what whrrls are on the back ???

    look soooo big !!!

  • Beautiful looking Beetle!! I'm in love. Can't wait until my '59 is lowered. Keep up the kick ass work!!
