Haha hey I think this is pretty good for 8th graders!! At least you were smart enough to acknowledge abbie hoffman in your movie. Most kids today don't even know who the chicago 8 were. My dad actually lived with one of them, rennie davis, in a commune. He drove rennie to the courthouse where the trial was being held too. Haha, I love how my dad is an old hippie.
cont. by Commies,"nattering nabobs," & all the while they infiltrated peaceful rallies in their disinformation campaigns. I was working to get medical care for the San Diego '72 Rep Convention, and MY phone was tapped!ANYTHING you did to register a protest was put into an FBI file. We SHOULD be able to protest; it's one of the ways Democracy works! It's part of the American mythos. When you educate yourself, you start 2 see the Reality behind the "official story."Painful but necessary 2 do.
Listen, those times were insane. Death hung in the air. Hippies were an outgrowth of the Beat movement, a reaction to the stultifying Eisenhower era, where corruption seethed under the gloss of the perfect hairdo.Anyone with an education learned the REAL reason behind the Vietnam war, and it wasn't any damn Domino Theory. The Yippies were street theater; hell, we tried EVERYTHING we could to get the message out.OUR government discredited any word against their propaganda, said we were infiltrated.
not from MA, are you? Worcester is pronounced "wister" and Brandeis is pronounced "bran-dice". Good video though and it's good to see young people thinking about Abbie. I highly recomend you all read Run, Run, Run the Lives of Abbie Hoffman. It was written by his brother Jack. It's the best Hoffman book.
this is pretty good im doing history day for 10 grade honors us history and my partner and i are doing abbie hoffman too. this helps a lot. im still trying to figure out how to use windows movie maker though. but overall great job
Great video but you left so much out and a few things were not entirely accurate. Im not meaning to sound like a bitch. Abbie Hoffman is the greatest inspiration of my life. If your second generation hippie let me know..... Im an organizer. ;)
Well done boys. You give me hope for the future. Pay no mind to the haters like trooperchicago, who I am sure is neither a trooper or from Chicago. He is just a pathetic dickhead.
Wow, bad, not hardly kiddo. I am impressed that you knew of Abbie and did a project on him for school. I have an 8th Grader this year, I had him watch Steal this Movie with me last year. Keep up the good work, your rocked it!
damn. if we had more people like a.hoffman (actually commited to activism. unlike the fake hippies who turned their back on change) then the fuckin world wouldve been cured already.
you guys did a good job..I shared food with Abbie in My Dinner With Abbie...hopefully dissent is not completely out of the question this next election..I'm looking for someone to edit..do you do that?
wow. this is kind of wierd. actually we are with our history day group right now. (there's 5 of us) and we're doing a performance on the life of Abbie Hoffman.

the real injustice was the liberal psychopaths who were indirectly responsible for murdering 3 million cambodians...but youll never say anything about that would you scumbag?
...as his son said.."he would have wrapped himself in the American flag and jumped off the ITT building if he was going to commit suicide...", and he had enough Lithium in his blood to kill a pack of elephants. Suicide? I think not.
ok, i thought it was all right, me and the guy who did it r big procrastinators so we didnt start making the actual video til a couple days b4 it was due so if we had more time we woulda made it longer
He did more activism after the 60's were over then during it. He really got started in his career of organizing evironmentalism and other projects once he was underground. Your video makes it seem as if his activism career ended once the 60's were over, when in fact thats when he got started. The 60's stuff was more in the public eye because he wasnt in hiding so he could use TV as a tool in 60's. Over the course of his career it was his grass roots work (organizing) he was most proud of.
Most arm chair abbie opinionators claim the rampant materialism of the 80's had some profound effect on him, this wasnt true. He as already involved involved in a huge river battle during the time of his surfacing. Its not like he hid, did nothing, broke out of hiding and was dissapointed in the 'youth of today" then took his own life. LOL. This is what most people assume, but they are wrong.

Hoffman rapped his campaign up with slogans like freedom and peace. But in reality he was a Communist Traitor working to Destroy America.

By the way, its pronounced Wis-ter, Massachusetts
CultMovieFreak 3 years ago
thanks for the compliment, and we figured out the pronunciation after we did the video, but thanks
Nirvana04Kurt 3 years ago
CultMovieFreak, it's pronounced "Wuss-ter," not "Wister." Or if you live in Massachusets, "Wusstah." And man, the narrator's voice is so annoying.
