Aunty ji, do we need to add oil when making the dough? Because if not then wouldn't it be sticky? I know its a silly question but I'm Bengali and we usually make Luchi (Puri) which requires oil and Roti in which we don't require oil. And what about greasing the skillet beforehand? And is it okay if I don't use Ajwain? I don't have it, please tell it won't ruin the Parantha... I'm a big newbie Aunty, please help me to be good. :D
hi Manjulaaunty, I have tried your recipe few times everytime but when I roll paratha it becomes sticky. I do squeeze water out from gobi as you have mentioned and yet i can't roll the parathas. plz can you suggest what i can do to prevent this from happening? many thanks.
To make it easier to roll the balls, first roll them in dry whole-wheat flour.
Lightly press the ball on the sealed side and keep it on the topside when rolling. Roll the ball light handed in to 6 inch circles. To reduce the stickiness on the rolling pin or rolling surface, sprinkle dry whole-wheat flour on both side of the semi-rolled paratha.
Auntie Manjula you cook really good. As a vegan I enjoy your recipes. I made the Aloo Paratha from your other video and also the Chole Palak recipe yesterday-loved them. It was my first time making parathas and they came out great- I will try these too.
Hi Aunty, I tried the gobi paratha today... and it tasted good as I followed your instructions. I had tried aloo paratha as well last week. That went good too.. Always wanted to try some north indian dishes and now I know where to look for.. Thanks aunty.
hi, mam. i m simran .ur all recipes r gud, wen we watch ur recipes,i m satisfied with ur cooking, one thing i tell u about ur all recipes, wen ur cooking r complete, at the end, u have to repeat your ingredients on the screen...
Hi Aunty. I'm an Australian girl of Lebanese born parents. I made Gobi Paratha while watching your video and it worked the first time. You made it very easy for me. My family love it so much, I make it often. I'm so glad I found your video - without it, I'm sure I would have done something wrong. Many thanks.
hi! from philippines. just wanna ask what ingredients did you make for gobi parathas cause its really look yummy!!!! mmmm....;>>> thanks! hope you'll reply,.
i am lyk 15 n i thank u so much 4 inspiring me to cook cuz ur recipes r so easy n simple tht i always try them n thankfully it cum out gud so thanks a lot :)
Manjula Aunty PLEASEE open a restraunt ! Everytime I watch your videos, my mouth waters extremely! I know I can't make it as great as you, so pleeease dying to have your food ! Haha :)
I agree...it is lovely to watch Manjula's expert hands and to listen to her direct, easy instructions. But I have a question. What is the second spice/herb that is used?
Hi Manjula aunty, this is my very first comment to you,I must say that you make cooking so easy and effortless. Thanks for being there.I want know which company's salad shooter do you use...???..thanks il wait for your reply..
Hi Manjula. I tried this and it came out fantastic. I could not find ajwain seeds in my local market however, so unfortunately I had to leave that out.
Hello aunty..this is my very first comment to u..ur are really gr8 n an expert in makin ur recepies..gr8 job..
ok can i use a food processor to shred the cauliflower?? i always make mistakes preparin this...now iunderstood wat i do.. aloo i make easily but this.. i just know now..wat to do thanks !! keep up the good work and show us more n more of ur recepies..!
Your recipes are simple and easy to follow. Please post more recipes. I think you might be gujarati - Kemchho and tamro khub khub abhar - for these recipes.
your recipes are very helpful for people like me who are away from their mom in other countries where we dont get indian food. I make my daily meals from your videos. thank youvery much
no doubt this recipe is the conventional of all the gobhi paratha recipe, but i would like to add a suggestion to it, which i usually make paratha like, rather than squeezing the nutritious and flavoured water out of gobhi, knead the dough with unsqueezed gobhi without adding water, and add all the masalas and other additions which u like and then make it .. it tastes really great and different, no fuss of breaking the paratha or messing around with rolling.. try it, u will enjoy..
Manjula Aunty, you are a celebrity now, did you see someone made a spoof of your video? I love that paratha, I never understood why my paratha broke away all the time, cant wait to go do it tonite.. once again, thank you sooo much, I love all the recipe you posted. I am addicted to your videos.
Another great video. I love watching your hand motions as you sqeeze the water out, make the dough, stuff and roll the parathas out ... exactly the same as my mom and aunts! My goal is to achieve this level of comfort/grace one day in the kitchen. For me your cooking is all about love and nurturing through food. I think so many of us watch it for that reason. Would you do a video on how you manage to feed your family homecooked meals everyday?
Thank you for explaining that water makes it hard to roll the parathas! My dal pooris and aloo parathas keep falling apart when I roll them out! I think I need to figure out how to dry out the fillers. Thank you for this wonderful paratha recipe. I also use ghee instead of oil, and it seems to add to the flavor a lot, even though ghee is bad for cholesterol, but it makes the parathas so yummy.
Auntyji, you are the master, the way you effortlessly make these parathas and the myriad of other flatbreads. Looks so easy, but it comes with years of experience. When I try rolling indian breads, they always look wonky - bit like a map of Australia - I think the dough is calling out for your magic touch instead!!
may be you are noe able to roll perfectly round but taste should remain the same. My mistake I should explain more how to role next video I will do that.
thank-you for another great video, really appreciate them, now my daughter is also watching and learning from you... so I dont have to show her, she can just watch you, wonderful!
