  • Why the fuck does this have so many dislikes?

    Awesome vid! I'm buying the 1.8 :)

  • @axpo995 probably cos its like watching paint dry

  • Thanks man great vid!

  • When you say "I'm really excited to.." - you don't look all that excited, really.

  • rip steve jobs. he was a dslr photographer also i didnt know

  • thanks for making this video, it cleared some things up for me

  • Thats cool

  • Do you have video on audio/video for your YouTube videos

  • Thanks.

    This is a nice review.

  • What about choosing between the 24mm F2.8, the 28mm F2.8 and the 35mm F2.0 ???

  • I going to buy a 2nd hand EF 50mm f/1.4. Where should I look at when I buy a 2nd hand one? I don't wanna come home and discover that some things are not working proper.

Do you have tips what to look at when buying a 2nd hand lens?

    Thanx

  • Thank you ..as a noob, I was able to understand you. I'm shooting with a T1i and just got the 50mm 1.8 Keep it up.

  • kassem g on the wall?

  • I know some cool chicks who would date this guy.

  • I sense a nikon hater lol

  • @supersexy0069 50mm 1.4 and a good zoom lens. not the 18-55.

  • you said um and uh a lot...

  • Best tat! PHOTO

  • First video I've seen of yours man, and wow, I can't tell you how refreshing it was. There's production value, you know how to set up a shot, and most importantly you are easy to listen to. Trimmed the fat, honest, and to the point. Thank you, keep up the good work!

  • @MrJamesonKurt same here. completly agree!

  • @supersexy0069 50mm all the way. I have both and i use the 50mm 90% of the time lol, i use a 18-135mm for other stuff.

  • you should to more lens reviews :)

  • bullshit!

  • dude you are so boring ever heard of ambient and why are you dressed like mr smithers

  • dude..... you are so chill.... haha subscribeddddd

  • wait a minute... is that a piece of emily martin's work? :D

  • what camera and lens did u use for this video?

  • Im using a canon rebel 450d or Rebel XSI, ive really been interested in this lens... Is it worth buying even tho my camera isnt full frame? Please get back to me your advice and opinions are awesome!

  • @WearBlackMarket EVERYONE should have a 50mm :)

  • @supersexy0069 If you use low light, use the 50mm 1.8. But for everyday walk around lens, I would go with a zoom lens in the range of 18-135 (Like the kit lens that comes with say, a 60D.) Or similar, but keep in mind it's not a very fast lens.

  • I've been trying to decide between the 1.8 and the 1.4 for my first camera and this was very helpful. Thank you!

  • i like your dry humor alot

  • the laptop is kinda in the way

  • wow relax!!

  • Intro sucks...click on 1:30 if you want to see the video.

  • why color correct a video where you're talking about lenses? haha

  • @xxbluejay21 why not have a nice quality video? no sense in putting a video up that you don't put effort into :)

  • i already have the sigma 17-50 f2.8. Do you think i should still get a faster 50, i.e. the 1.8 or should i get the 85m 1.8 for portraits? My only concern with the 85m is the 1.6 crop may make it too long in smaller rooms?? Thanks for the videos!

  • ficha

  • anybody notice the tattoo on his four arm?

  • @HPIxDrift PHOTO?!:P

  • @flippi12 yup ^_^

  • @HPIxDrift *fore

  • @2smalltobeseeen lol i know... auto correct sometimes -__-

  • @HPIxDrift 好!

  • @2smalltobeseeen (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻

  • @HPIxDrift he's only got 2 arms

  • @FRANKORILLA and i have a third leg :3

  • @HPIxDrift didn't know your pinky's that long

  • @FRANKORILLA didn't know our pinky's considered as a leg :/

  • is the 50 mm 1.2 worth the additional $1200 as a step up from the 1.4? I'm pleased with the 1.4 but I'm just salivating for a 1.2. thanks.

  • I'm currently looking for a lens that performs at the level of the 50mm f 1.8 II, but still has the ability to zoom. I'm not looking for any telephoto zoom levels, but a nice amount of zoom would be nice.

  • i already have the 50mm 1.4, but looking for an "all around lens" for my canon rebel xsi. what do you recommend?

  • @supersexy0069 both

  • why will it break in 2 years? the 1.8 ?

  • Thanks for talking to the world man =)

useful stuff in all your videos!

  • Hey man great video, loved it.

Can you do a video on creating depth and frame shots for landscape photos.

    cheers

  • @supersexy0069 you should have both. i do have both dude

  • By the way, great review man, RESPECT!

  • zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I'm sure this is iteresting stiuff but man i was falling asleep. so skipped it all.

  • if i got a cropped lens shouldnt i go for a lower mm lens instead of 50mm?

  • Hi! I would like to know if the 50mm f/1.4 will help me to improve my videos in low light?

  • @MGGproductionsfull Yes, I am sure it will greatly improve your videos in low light. No doubt about it.

  • i still HAVE my OM-1...you sir are one awesome dude!

  • @supersexy0069 depends on what your using.. i have both, i use my 50mm f1.8 for my portraits and shows for my school.. and 18-55 mostly for landscapes, whenever i need the 18mm.

  • @supersexy0069 Better, but not by that much until you get into really low light. It lets in over 10x the amount of light than the F5.6 18-55. It does suffer a bit from soft focus on the corners. Other than that, they're pretty comparable.

  • You were good and precise and funny.... Nice one :)

  • what type of camera and lense did you use to shoot this video? thanks!..great quality!

  • @supersexy0069

You'll have the standard lens anyways, but the reason you want a 50mm 1.8 is for low-light, "normal" pictures. 50mm is about the focal length where the field of view ("zoom") is almost the same as your eye. So you want the 18-55 for wide-angle and flexibility in well-lit situations, but the 50mm 1.8 will come in handy when photographing subjects in low-light, and you're not concerned about fitting a lot in the frame.

  • @supersexy0069 It's to my understanding that lens is a wide angle lens and is not going to get you the same effect as the 50mm does.

  • YEA CALGARY!

  • she's out of my league.

  • Awesome info man. I just bought the 1.8 at my local camera store today, and my T3i is coming tomorrow. Super excited

  • sooo...it just so happens on the cannon website the f1.8 is more expensive than the f1.4. Would you mind sharing a good place to shop?

  • does anyone know if you only buy the body if it will come with everything that the standard one comes with?

  • i was planning on getting a canon 600d/t3i which comes with EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS lens. should i just buy the body alone and then get my hands on a 50mm 1.8?

  • @swtazzpnoy get both lenses if you can.

  • great stuff, we want more!

  • "It might break in two years" - really? D;

  • do you have "PHOTO" written on your arm as a tattoo ? ;) 5:54

  • Dude. Subscribed!

  • such a NERD, for sure is virgin

  • @jmachete I'm sure it's just part of a "look". A fashion style. Makes him look professional - and he IS a professional. I doubt he's a social-impaired nerd in the correct sense of the word.

  • @jmachete social network etiquette

  • your videos are so good. the way you talk... no homo though. i understand you much better than anybody else. thanks!

  • You started of so good, I actually thought this would be a very vivid cinematic like tutorial. However, after you started talking and talking and talking ... I was disappointed.

Great setup and colour use though.

  • he does speak like jesse eisenberg. intellectually quirky mannerisms.

  • Good info, thx!!

  • This review it is the most boring one I have watched

  • Great vid, I"ve got the canon rebel 2ti, just getting into photography. I"d like to see a series of instructional vids SHOWING when and what are the best uses for various lense selections.

  • is this a canon lens review or apple commercial? LOL

    nice review...

@justayaforlife it depends on what you gonna shoot.. my advice : buy both of them :D

  • "If you don't understand, you should still buy one" hahah! i love that guy :D

  • Hi ;) ...whats your opinion on canon 55-250mm F/4-5.6 ?? Im in dillema between that one and 50mm 1.8 ....Thx

  • @justayaforlife the 55-250mm is a zoom lens. the 50mm is a fixed lens. the 50mm is great for portraits and filming at night (with the 1.4 aperture, you won't get grainy blacks. i have it. it's perfect). the 55-250mm would be a good multi-purpose lens: such as macro (at 250mm) or telephoto use at the zoo, eiffel tower, stuff like that. long range.

  • you look like Jesse Eisenberg after cutting his hair and growing a beard, just saying :)

  • in my opinion get the 1.4 or the 1.8 and use the remaining money to buy an 85mm f1.8 :))

  • when you pay 90 pounds for a lens and it has a very good image quality why do you really care about the build quality ? i have the nikon 50mm f1.8 and the quality is amazing ... you get much more than you pay for... so i think what should matter is the quality of the images produced not the build quality

  • @poisonblack83 Because you want the lens to last. Poor build quality will not stand up over the long haul especially if you are using the manual focus often.

  • @bcutts55 yea i know but when you pay more than triple the price for one lens.. what i mean is that the 1.8 one is only 90 pounds the other ones will be b 4-5 times the price, i think its wiser to buy another 85mm f1.8 than much much more for one f stop :)

  • i just bought a 50mm 1.4 zweiss

  • Which font is that one you used at the beginning of the video?

  • @Darkrasen1494 come on its on every computer its helvetica font

  • @Iovisbay Thanks : )

  • What lens did you use to record this video?

  • You are good just speeded up get to the point or I will loose you. Keep it up.

  • Very nice picture but I really wish someone would have more techinical information like lens construction, why one is better than the other, coatings and that kinda stuff.

  • Great video. Subscribing.

  • 5:52 that tattoo shows dedication

  • this was great. thank you!

  • I'm from Calgary too,great vid man !

  • TALK TO THE WORLD!

  • @supersexy0069 both, u need a nice wide angle/zoom and prime

  • @supersexy0069 i got the 50mm recently.. well i observe its has better "bokeh" which makes the subject more in focus.. and its better in low light conditions compared to the kit lens especially when the only option is to handhold it

  • i like the colors which camera you use ?

how can i get this kind f color with my canon 7D?

  • Is this good for taking shots during tennis? I don't need the ball in the picture. Just the players.

  • This is a really great video. It is over a year old but it helped me learn a bit. I am buying my first DSLR(Gonna go with T3i, even though I care more for video, cause I don't have money to spend on the GH2, and this will be fine) and I'll just get the f/1.8 because I don't know how serious I am about this, but I know that I'll want to do low light stuff, and f/3.4 will just not do(right? lol just assuming here) And yeah it's only $130. (It is $30 more than everyone says but it's a newer one)

  • @Klicket01 mind telling me which lenses ur gonna use and stuff? I'm also interested in the T3i for portraits and stuff with this lens. If ever you're gonna buy the lens in this video, send me a message. Thanks!

  • You should call your segment: 'giving Joe my glass because he needs it really bad'

  • It's like a train wreck. I had to watch it all. No offense.

  • My 1.8 fell into two parts also, after someone wanted to be helpful and move my slingpack.. but I managed to get it back together after a you tube video on how its guts fit together...

  • your weird dude.

  • hey if anyone is looking to but the canon 50mm 1.8 lens for cheap im selling mine on ebay jus search mzawesome and the lens will put up low price to and its brand new!!

  • @MsKillaDJ hey, how much would you be willing to sell it buy it now?

  • @b00sted08 hey sorry i had already sold it but if you check ebay theres still some cheap one on there from other sellers

  • your vids rad! helped me for sure

  • I really enjoyed watching this. Thanks!

  • Nice video, it helped me out a lot regarding buying my first 1.8

  • finally i have found a guy that makes sense about cameras in brilliant detail but so easy to understand, i am new to dslr's and have done the same thing with a kit lens and then got a super zoom and now after a 1.4, going to watch your other videos for tips thanks again for the help.... subscribed :D

  • I love the intro

  • you voice is annoying!

  • @carlosalgado123 stfu troll.

  • aboot

    hehe, canada.....

  • What did you film this video with? Did you do color correction after that? Video looks awesome and informative as well! Thanks

  • How did you manage to "smash" a lens?!

    btw. very cool vid!

    very informatic!

  • Thanks man, very informative!

  • idk why but he's/you're so cute. lol/

  • great video tyler! love the info.

  • Will the 1.8 fit my Rebel XS?

  • @PisolMan Yes, it's an EOS mount.

  • @PisolMan its a canon mount, no fricken kidding it will

  • @PisolMan yes :P

  • im thinking of getting a 5d mark 2 with 24-70mm 2.8, do i really need a 50mm?

  • @DavidHeatonPhoto Yes, in so many ways yes. I have a 16-35 f/2.8 24-70 f/2.8 50mm f/1.8 and a 85mm f/1.8. I love my 24-70 its a great walk around lens but the focus and image quality on a 50mm is just amazing, also when you want a super low depth of field you can't beat a f1.4. Also a 5d mkII and 24-70 is what, a $3600ish investment? why not spring the extra $100 for a 50mm f1.8? it will be well worth it. Its one of my favorite lens to shoot on.

  • i had to stop at 2min cause i was bored. Livin it up a bit.

  • what camera will you bring along if you need it to be compact?

  • would this work on the canon vixia hf s20

  • Too slow and boring.

  • I shoot nikon but i don't care, this video is helpful to everyone and who doesn't like a nice looking high quality vid, nice one, i'm definitely getting a 50mm

  • awesomeee , looved this

  • This is actually pretty good, and helpful. I just bought the 60d and I am trying to decide which 50mm to get.

    Keep the videos coming!

  • I can see at how your video looks, that you're a good photographer! I actually just bought the 50 1.4

  • i'm from calgary!!!!!!!!!!

  • Is there a particular online store you buy your lenses?

  • talk faster man, for the rest nice information!

  • Great video.. but with a 1.6x, wouldn't a 28mm f/1.8 be better to get the 50mm?

  • omm amm ekmmm ammm ommm ammm emmm.... by the way... ammmm emmm ....!!! shitty video nothing useful just his 5 mins on tv...
