  • love it when he looks into the camera. man i love this song.

  • J'adore cette chanson mais pourquoi ai-je toujours envie de boire une bière quand je l'entends ?

  • @Helliot17 je suis hollandais, excusez mon francais, mais j'ai toujours envie de boire une biere

  • a liittle assist from mica paris, cool

  • Classy as ever! Same league as Brian Ferry and Bowie...but even classier :-)

  • my favorit song of Robert Palmer was

    a great artist!..

    quel Classe toujours bien sapé

    R.I.P

  • That voice, that look and that move.

    And...that Armani!

Palmer, you were one of the coolest male singers of all time. RIP.

  • this song was and is so beautiful, Robert Palmer was incredible, not many like him left..he died way too soon........

  • dam this whole world is brought to buy a commercial........-

  • i loved this song when i was 19 as i had some of his greatest hits on cassette tape like johhny and mary and bad case of loving you ETC.

  • This song is one that I have played to my class of 14 Year olds - they love it ! It is saying everything that they are too scared to say out loud- long live the 80's and long live Robert Palmer.

  • He's dead...

  • so what

  • Just love this song so much, he did some goodies. the 80's are much-maligned, but they signified the period in music where anything was accepted, all music types came out and did their thing and brought about the big melting pot there is today in the music industry.

  • Robert Palmer was and remains my all time favorite male performer, just the lyrics to this song are remarkable, teaching tolerance, how novel especially in this country where tolerance is not practiced by a too many of the population who resort to guns and violence instead of patience and understanding.

  • ditto from me dave.............my sentiments exactly.....and my was he versatile as well!

  • Is there a song or a performer like this today....I think not.

  • love it when he smiles @ the camera.a sad sad loss. r i p.

  • My Uncle reckons only f**kwits watch Utube, If he is right, well I must be? but thank God I can hear these tunes again. Sure theres some OK stuff out there now but not like this! Young people; swallow your pride and give some of this older stuff a go, try?...you wont regret it. RIP Bob xox

  • Hey Floyd, I've played this for my Methodist youth group and they were knocked out! Maybe there's hope for these young 'uns!

  • My God! I still love him and his songs. What performer??? Seriously, 80s had it all. I wish I can turn the clock.

  • this song says so much and i love what it says and i love that he is saying it - i love him

  • One smooth performer,a true class act, it wouldnt have been the 80s without Robert!

  • Great song. Reminds me of being back in college. I miss the 80's and the music we had. The music today is awful and all sounds the same. Rest in Peach Robert, you will always be missed.

  • Not ashamed to tell you, that song still brings a tear to my eye. RIP Rbt

  • Me too, I've had a few drinks, though. ONE LOVE.

  • This song brings back memories.Still love it!!!!!!!

  • The Best Robert Palmer Song!

  • I agree completely! I have always loved this song. So timeless and perfect!

  • WOW!!!!!!!!! Love this song!!!!

  • Time stands still with a song like this, sounds just as fresh as when it was released--can't say that about too many songs no matter how popular they were.

  • I was lucky enough to see him live back in the day,it was a great show he will be missed. gone to soon

  • MASTER !!!!

  • Genial!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Miss this guy..Rest in peace, Robert.. you were a great artist and gave us some great music...God bless you.

  • embrace life! it is something very special!

  • I love that he can rumble a smooth growl and hit the stratosphere, too.

  • Awesome! Thanks for sharing. Robert was such a great singer and was the king of cool in the late 80's. he had a style all his own. He was originally from Malta

  • erm, he was born in Batley, Yorkshire, England. Haha

  • i luv this song, thanks for sharing ~_~

  • His voice, mannerisms, and whole technique are better after he got older. I don't care for the '78 version. Of course the studio recording hardware was pretty fundamental back then too.

  • The only singer that I know of that was not afraid to have that big microphone in his face in just about every video he did. Thanks for the music and happiness Robert, R.I.P

  • Even though this little remember done by Palmer gem was from 1978 & became a then -- I don't believe Palmer made the video for it until 1989 or 91 (if I recall; after his success w/ the videos for both the hits, "Addicted To Love" & "Simply Irristible" -- Polygram requested he make a video archival record of his earlier hits which were part of a Broadway musical of the time. Which was actually very foresighted of Polygram considering Palmer's unfortunate tragic death a few years later).

  • I didn't know he sang this song. Great song and great musician! I'm going to have to buy his greatest hits album.

  • Love you Robert. RIP.

  • Saw him at Towson State when general admission was still around. Was first in line but still ended up in third row right in front of him. I told him he was a cool dude and he said thank you. Then saw him in Baltimore same year with Little Feat back up.

He was absolutely the white man of soul and very well mannered and classy as hell. Just too cool!

  • HAIL YEAH !!

We all need air and blood .

    PEACE OUT!!!

  • Great song from athe classiest cat in rock music ever. Like MJ, He left us way to soon. RIP RP, RIP MJ.

  • Damned right.

  • Smoldering HOT . . . . Robert Palmer had it all!!!!

  • Ivory Soul Man!!

    NICE! Loved Robert Palmer

    R.I.P.

  • awesome! Just awesome!

  • Nice song. I wish the world would listen to it and take heed.

  • R.I.P. THE MAN

  • I heard this song on the radio the other day and couldn't get it out of my head. This song exemplifies what music should be...an expression of the heart, mind and sould. What a phenomenal song! Thanks for posting.

  • What is the sampler of this music ?

  • Wonderful version of this song. People need to listen and understand this more, because it's right.

  • today it seems only the money grabbing basterds

    are of importance,

the rest should just go kill themselfs for all they care, as long as they get their bonus.

i'm scared the meaning of this song will get lost somehow along the way. :(

  • definetly! but when you hear it doesnt it make you nod your had and really trust in the songs like this!

  • My heart simply broke when I heard he died ...... His songs helped me make it through the 80's and helped me find the meaning of love !

  • this should be the world anthem!!

  • This should be the world anthem!!! I totally agree with you bykrydr21

  • Very nice uplifting song. Great performance by Robert. God bless his soul.

  • 2:28 to 2:46...Robert's vocal is superb! I just think that he is one of the greatest male vocalists to grace our earth...Rest in peace Robert...you are still one of the best...PERIOD.

  • Thats a such a cool happy song sung by one of the coolest singers of 80s RIP Robert you wont be forgotten!!

  • Thank you Universal Music Group for making this song available rather than stowing them away like Warner does.

  • what a beautiful song of love and acceptance!

  • what a great song!!!!

  • Robert has a great voice!

    Love this song

  • He had a great voice.

  • awsome totally

  • Maybe it's just me, but this sounds like a remix for a re-release of the song, rather than the original. That would explain the 1980s-esque video we see here, anyway.

It sounds like there's a beat track in the background in addition to the drum beat.

Uh... and then a brief rap in the video... yep, definitely a remix.

  • It is a remix and a new video

  • I didn't know you sung this song that I have loved for so long. .. R.I.P, Sir RAP. Gone too soon.

  • 1978

  • je cherchais ce morceau depuis longtemps mais ne connaissais le titre alors merci.

  • Looks more like 1987 than 1978.

  • new video ;)

  • Everyone should watch this video, it rocks, and so does Robert Palmer. R.I.P. My friend. This song and video proves that people can get along no matter what differences we may have.

  • Was this from the album "Honey?"

  • I used to love this song so much. It got alot of airplay on r&b stations back whwn it was out.

  • A great artist that I miss every day. A great voice and a huge talent.

  • The vocals on this are stunnin

  • Not meaning anything by this, but does anyone else thinks that he sometimes looks and dances like Rick Astley?

  • RIP Robert Palmer--We still miss you and your impeccable wisdom from this "TRUE" classic hit!//Mikey

  • performers like robert will be never forgotten, thanks rob for your beatifull songs.....

  • I didn't know Princess Diana's brother was a singer.

  • yeah, me neither, it's a pretty interesting fact eh?

  • looks like him ;))

  • Una gran canción.

  • A great song by a great man.

  • Some songs will live on through eternity, and this is one of them.

  • tippa irie and don drummond of the skatalites wonderful song!

  • Actually, Cinel...I was talking about making comments about the video, not about politics, not about anything that doesn't/didn't have to do with the music and the video. I just find it rather tiring that people take these venues to go on tirades that are obviously (well usually) misguided, ignorant, etc. instead of staying in the spirit of the venue. This is about music and this particular video had nothing to do with politics & neither, I'm sorry...did my original comment. Thanks! *smile*

  • No truer words have been spoken:

    There's no profit in deceit

    Honest men know that

    Revenge do not taste sweet

    Whether yellow, black or white

Each and every man's the same inside.....

  • i like how he harmonizes w himself

  • not heard this song for long time forgot how beutiful a song it is perfect song for chilling out to on a sunday afternoon.

  • I could't agree more,this is total chill-out music :)

  • Feel like having a beer, life can be beautiful!Cheers people.

  • what a track, robert might not be here now bless him! rip.but what a fantastic song hes left us . if only it could be like this .its a feel good tune and video definitely....

  • Not to THIS person of colour is this a better America..and I'm so glad all of you have decided to take these comment areas regarding music and video arts and made it your own personal political soap box of ignorance. Heil! *ahem* and THAT was a snide comment, just in case you didn't get it.

  • I just have to ask what you mean. I'm not an Obama supporter and he hasn't impressed me yet. I vote for the best candidate no matter what color but I do believe he was elected to prove we had moved past the racial barrier regardless of whether he was the best candidate.

So my question is do you think it'll take alot more work to move past the racial barriers or do you think that Obama is not quite the Messiah that people seem to think he is.

  • rip.

    xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

  • R.I.P Robert :(

  • Right on Marky!!!

  • Love this, and I Woke Up Laughing, mint songs.

  • awesome song and very appropriate for the events going on today. to all my brothers and sisters of color I have met througout the years rejoice. This is a new, better America.

  • the best song I always want to sing.

  • Robert, you have it right. I SO look forward to this new administration. We need to come together and work it out.

"We do not remember days, we remember moments." -Pavese, Cesare.

    America, this is our moment!

    Robert, you are sorely missed.

  • Great song, but kind of weird how it sounds like he's doing a remake of a Philadelphia Soul type song! And yet others remade HIS song!

Sounds like Barry White should've recorded it - maybe he did, I don't know!

    Cool.

  • Awesome video and a great early song by Robert Palmer--One of my all-time fave tunes and RIP our dear friend...Mikey 10/10 Stars!

  • thanks so much for the post, he is my favorite male performer of all time. can you post early in the morning?

  • Um....Robert wasn't a member of ELP

  • you are correct. got my palmer's mixed up. anyway, robert palmer was in a band before he went out on his own. which band was it? thnx....

  • He formed band with 2 guys from Duran Duran, Power Station but I don,t think you mean that either?

  • I can remember buying this in the 70's he was a great artist and was there for a long time, he woul've still been at the top now sadly missed.

  • wonderful.miss you robert.

  • still ring on my ears

  • This 1992 remake version is more upbeat than the 1978 version

  • mmmm blue-eyed soul.rip robert

  • Lota good stuff going on in this song...

Funky Bass , piano, Cow bell, very contempary spanish acoustic, Trumpet, key sampling, gospal..... and i think its the Clavitone that ultimately provides the listener with the main hook...... ( SHIT I HOPE IM RIGHT WITH ALL THAT STUFF...)

  • And don't forget the steel drums!

  • A style all his very own. Nobody can or will replace him. With all of the crap music out there, people like him have to be the ones to part this world way before their times .... too too bad. Life is never fair.

  • Man, what a heart warming tune! Thank you !

    " Every Man's the Same,

He wants the Sunshine in his Name"...

  • Whether yellow, black, or white, each and every man (and woman!) is the same inside.

  • Jeeeez!! I didn't know he passed! Just makes his music that much more precious.

  • Robert had a rich, soulful voice. I hate he checked out at 53. RIP!

  • Jules thats funny The more thumbs down i get the better my insults are wahahhaha! The most sensative people are the fans of Miley Cirus,Jewll,Streisand,Morrisett and other female singers they get very protective/defensive of their "hero"..why??Who knows? They somehow wanna live vicariously in the shoes of billionire celebs who could care freakin less about these obscessed fans. You tube rocks and I enjoy the banter.

  • Than you Jules i only call em as i hear/see em.Robert Palmer was the man,his voice was a rock n roll instrument9See The power station).R.I.P.Robert Palmer..It takes every kinda people great song easy on the ears!

  • not kiddin pal you sound a good guy with one hell ov a sense ov humour .pitty some take it the wrong way probably up the arse. anyway keep the insults going cos its keeping me in laughts and many others. ps hope you dont get too many thumbs down ha ha .

  • Love Robert Palmer, cant believe hes been dead for five years, saw him live in 1986 in Baltimore...outstanding vocalist!

  • goodonya yo.bad comments are as good as good ones if not better, keep them coming cos they are piss funny.

  • This song puts a smile on my face :) Laura

  • Judging by the videos you have posted, you smile a lot.

  • I have many reasons, LOVE is one of them.

  • life is too short to not smile :)

  • Yah, So - put on your sailing shoes, & sneak sally through the alley, or you'll be in double trouble!! His last 2 albums were like Rod Stewart's "Blondes have more fun" - pure candy corporate pop. What a shame.

  • The last two were Rhythm and Blues and Drive. I think both were exceedingly well done, and neither deserve to be compared to the post-Faces Stewart. Drive, in particular, isn't even vaguely commercial. You must not have heard it.

  • RIP Robert!
