  • Looks like you had compartment syndrome.

  • Ouch!

I'm myself just 3 weeks after surgery from a kitesurf accident. I got lots of fractures at the top of my tibia and also a big part of it that was torn off that's now fixed back with screws and plates. I'm not allowed to put any weight on my leg for another 4-6 weeks and after that follows at least 6 months of rehab.

    Hope your recovery went well!

    Peace

  • Hi Echostrom, good to hear of your recovery. Broke my leg as well (two bones and ligaments), foot got stuck for a split second in my strap during a fast, overpowerred landing , snap .. crack, before I could even think of quick release ....98% recovery, snowboarding and windsurfing is ok, no more kitesurfing for me ... so far :( .

  • fuck..be better to have cut the whole damm leg dont you think ,,

  • ur surgen did a reallly bad job jeez what a scare its gonna leave

  • frankenstein!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 3 years ago ,I also broke my leg with a kiteloop-backloop. It took almost 1 year to go on the water again. Now 3 years later ,I can do anything again but when I try something new on the water,I think twice before I pull my bar :-). Hope you recoverd 100%

  • OUCH, and I thought mine was bad.......I broke my tib and fib in half, had to have metal rod and 2 screws...pretty sick wounds there though,...

  • hey i broke my leg 2 months ago 5/24/09 right leg tib/fib compound fracture... pretty gnarly stuff

cant walk yet want to ask you a couple questions about your surgery....get back to me.

  • Hows it going? My leg is 100% better now. Just finished climbing the biggest mountain in Slovenia. Good luck!

  • WTF! i don't understand how kite boarding can be soo dangerous. I mean you fall nice and slow?

  • no lol you hit high speeds and if your going fast enough and you fall in the water its like hitting a wall, and if you fall a certain way you can break bones

  • lol

  • Any numbness in foot?

  • Are kite boarders more prone to major breaks on lower leg? Because my brothers m8 broke tib and fib really bad to in a kiteboarding comp

  • All better now. They took the calf muscle out to stop the internal bleeding. They actually thought that it needed it be amputated however, put the muscle back in to see what would happen. The next day I was able to move my toes, which made my surgeon estatic. Three months later I got on the board again and after a year now I am doing medium sized boosts with my kite. Get the pin out in March YAY!!!!

  • Seeing that makes my snapped achilles tendon wound feel.. well, almost better!.

  • had the same, broken fib and tib, also 2 fasciotomies at the side and a tibianail!

  • Thanks for making me throw up!

  • Had the same thing fully broken tib and fib with a re break after 8 months sucks doesnt it. Hope things get better

  • Owch. Looks like Frankenstein's leg. How did that happen?
