@TagTeamInternet They actually do have rubber band guns that you can hunt with, but as you may guess they are not in wide circulation due to lack of demand, and the ammo is specially made for the gun (costs a lot). With his knowledge of gun mechanics he'd probably be better off putting together a semi automatic crossbow bolt thrower. This guy is AWESOME. :D

There are two springs in this gun. One inside the handle for the trigger and one under the peg that goes into the slots under the firing mechanism. The peg is angled back to allow passage forward but not back, allowing the pushing of the firing mech and the reseting of the position of the trigger. The barrel is is just a piece of wood with some slots cut into it.
