That's why I refuse to buy anymore DVDs of Happy Days and Laverne & Shirley after I learned of the music copyright issues. I have Season 1 of both of them and I've rented the rest. Really disappointing.

This just goes to show what happens when corporations ask way too much for the rights for songs.

Sadly most classic shows that had any commercial music used in them have suffered this fate, the biggest casuality being WKRP.

The best episodes were the early filmed ones, after they went to taping in front of a studio audience and made Fonzie the center of the show it went downhill.

Happy Days isn't the only show where a minor character ends up becoming the center of the show. Think Spock of Star Trek, Urkel of Family Matters, J J of Good Times, Dr Smith of Lost In Space. It happens a lot more than you think.

This song was the original closing credits song,(with some changes). Someone who is good at video editing can easily put the "Rock Around the Clock" back into the Season 2 episodes,as it should be. "Guess Who's Coming To Christmas" is my favorite Happy Days episode.
