Just bought this car a month ago. Wow, only time will tell, but I think it may be the best car I've ever owned! I've been buying & driving Europeans for 15 years exclusively and planned to do it again when I stumbled on the G8 GT. The test drive sealed the deal. It renders all European cars available in the U.S. wildly overpriced. My advise to anyone shopping BMW, Benz, Audi, Jaguar, Volvo or SAAB is to take a spin in this thing and you'll end up keeping some money in your pocket as a bonus!

if i'm not mistaken, that engine's timing is wayyy off and the concept is wrong. they're using a 6L V8 in a sedan the way they did back in the 60's-70's; when emissions weren't of any concern.

i don't know what GM's approach is on this but they're selling an inexpensive car with a massive engine. (maclaren's f1 also has a 6L) while other manufacturers are producing clean diesel engines, pontiac pulls this out of their pants? it worked in the 60's, it won't work in 2009.

Marvelous car for the money. Nice going Australia...and nice going GM for bringing this car to the U.S. marketplace. Not a huge car, but has the inside room of a huge car. Even the 256 HP V-6 version is sweet.....faster than any Taurus SHO ever was, and has the same suspension as the V-8. The V-6 does 0-60 MPH in a respectable 7 seconds. Of course the V-8 GT version is a beast...0-60 in 5.3 seconds! You can get 19" tires, leather, moonroof, heated seats...all for under 33 grand....amazing.

I drove one today. Not a great car, but a really nice one...an A-. Pontiac finally will have a sedan that is going to get people excited. Rear wheel drive, 361 HP, brakes and handles quite well, good seats, cool flared fenders. Modern looking car that still looks like a Pontiac. Nice work by both Holden and General Motors.....bravo.
