  • good absinthe doesn't require sugar. its a relic from when poor absinthe was made resulting in a very bitter taste.

  • +1 for the music

  • Czech absinthe is best.

  • Nah, not the proper method. Reminds me of a high school health class video about heroin shooters in a public bathroom preparing a fix. Yuck ! Really good Absinthe requires no flame, and REALLY good product needs no sugar either, just patience ... its why we drip the icewater SLOWLY into the glass. Its a ritual to be savored. If you want to guzzle booze for a quick buzz and you are in a hurry, try Tequila, lime and salt and do shots in succession. Absinthe is for cultured folk seeking the exotic.

  • Why not pour in a little hot sauce, while you're at it ?

  • @pcollenYT lol, I love hot sauce. I should change the title, shouldn't I? Absinthe wrong method.

  • is it best to prepare the la fee parisienne absinthe by the traditional or the bohemian way?

  • ahahahah fire, you gotta be fucking kidding me.

  • i thought u said "proper" preparation............

  • The fire "ritual" is a bullshit procedure designed by czech oilmix sellers.

See, real absinthe is distilled with various herbs. However, this is expensive and difficult. Czech "entrepreneurs" decided they would simply take some high proof liquor like vodka and mix wormwood extract into it. The result of this process tastes horrible. to cover the flavor, the oilmix sellers developed the fire method, which masks how bad their fauxsinthe tastes.

Doing it to real absinthe destroys the flavor.

  • @IlStefan Actually, fire doesn't really make them less disgusting. The fire ritual was rather needed because these mouthwashes don't louche (well, at least the "original" ones don't), but they look even more horrible if you try to louche them. It would have been too obvious that they are imitations, so a fancy new ritual was absolutely needed.

  • I have to agree with Endymion1976 in that no Absinthe distiller would ever drink Absinthe which has had the sugar cube set on fire. Many actually will not use sugar at all only purified drinking water.

  • "Proper method" is definitely up for argument. I learned it when La Fee, and Hills was the only thing you could get, and before any of it was legal in the U.S. I'll post again when I figure out where I learned it. I've had the cold water method and it is very good.

  • too much water, too fast.

  • To Darklyrics, actually Lucid is a real absinthe, it contains grande wormwood, anis, and fennel, making it a traditional style absinthe.

  • Lucid contains wormwood, its not fake...BTW the song is "Echoes"

  • awesome noob. dont burn my lovely fairy -.-

but, the "lucid" is a "fakesinthe"

  • Oh my that is absolutely NOT how you prepare Absinthe.

  • "Proper method" is without fire.. ;)

  • Original and proper method is indeed without fire, and is just louched after a shot has been placed in the glass, then louched.

  • gotta love the sound, makes it so dramatic

  • Hey thanks. Its a song from an old Pink Floyd album.

  • wut is this drink?

  • Its an alcoholic beverage that used to be banned in Europe and the U.S. because they thought its wormwood content made people go crazy.

  • My husband and I are drinking absinthe and we love your video!
