Well, the original Prime had one flaw, which had no story in depth at all, so it focused on its gameplay. Then they gave a little bit on Echoes, but still retained the original Prime's gameplay. When Retro Studios developed Corruption, it seemed they needed more interaction with both the story and gameplay, and in this case, the original Prime and Echoes gameplay/story both combine into Corruption.

I just finished it for the 2nd time, close to 100%, and I can tell you that game has a very complete story throughout. You scan the chozo lores and you will acquire a lengthy narrative, you can scan each and every enemy and learn of their biology and the way they evolved, you can scan the surroundings and learn of the flora and fauna. It was non-linear too, which made it feel like a real Metroid.

What I'm saying is that the first Prime didn't have a direct story that followed with the gameplay, lol; everything you had to do in the game was to figure out by yourself. You were right though, the Chozo lore scans did give many information, giving somewhat a story about what happened, but you couldn't really see what's happening, so you had to think about it, which is pretty interesting. XD

Echoes had the Luminoths so they were directly telling the player what happened. :P

No you can't (I know it would be good) you need Wii remote and nunchuck. Wikipedia has a page what says every Wii game that can be played with a gamecube controller. At the bottom of the page "list of gamecube games" there is a "see also" part which can redirect you there.

the graphics are superior in an xbox 360 to a wii. but metroid is a far better game than halo 2 and 3. only halo 1 was worth playing. the dual weapon system in halo was an ok idea but the character of samus aran has always had an arm cannon so it would be an obvious rip off if they gave her 2 weapons.
